  • Running time for this video is about 20 minutes. So it's a bit lengthy however I do get into some great detail about the product. I do encourage you to skip forward to any portion of the video but you like or you can just sit back relax and enjoy. In one section of the video I give a brief explanation about FR-S Family Radio Service. And GMRS General Mobile Radio Service.

    Awesome video! I am visually impaired as well, (actually blind), and have a few two way radios myself. They’re quite useful! My friend, Steven, (who is also blind), hangs out with me sometimes, and we often enjoy going to Meijer or Target, and we use two way radios to communicate, as we are in different parts of the store. We use a visual interpreting service on our phones, so we can’t exactly text back-and-forth while shopping. That’s just one used case for two way radios.

    • @bluetech7753
      @bluetech7753  Před 3 lety +2

      You're not need walkie talkies all the time specially now with cell phones but they are great to have in the event should all other communications go down remember we have smartphones but they rely on the grid meaning if cell towers go down or if there was to be some massive hack that affects the entire grid the phones would be useless the internet would be shut down where with the walkie talkies there is no bringing them down even if repeater stations were to go down the radio still work directly with each other. If it was to be an extreme emergency but you had to use the higher channels no I'm pretty sure your license would not be required in a situation like that.

It all depends on how close you are to a weather transmitter Tower it could be possible that you might be too far away from the nearest transmitter so in that case it'll either pick up very staticky or won't pick up at all. In my area there are days where to pick it up nice and clear and at other times it can be a bit staticky I'm about 25 mi from the nearest NOAA weather transmitter.

      Well I haven't quite done a review video just yet but I plan to do one I have used mine and I can honestly say they are pretty good. I've seen other videos where they say that the Walmart walkie talkies or what they call blister packs are not good walkie talkies but I think that's a little inaccurate. These cobras are great I tested the range on them. They'll give you at least half a mile to 1 mile on the FRS channels which are the lower output channels. You do get about three miles on gmrs channels which are the higher output channels of course as you know you do need a gmr's license from the FCC to transmit on those channels it's very easy to get on like ham radio where you have to take a test with this one you don't you just log on get your free number and pay for your license. I have talked to other FR-S users in my area so that's pretty neat.

      They are pretty good walkie talkies I can tell you that much. They also have a red emergency panic button on top this is very good. Who activated it sounds a very loud alert tone and it will even automatically turn on the microphone on the radio so that you can summon help if for some reason you are not even to press the PTT button yourself.

      Perfect line of sight meaning no trees hills or structures in between the range can be up to 1 mi or just a little bit over. This will also depend on battery usage or other if the batteries are getting weak then if this is the case the range would decrease. I tested them while walking around in my neighborhood with one radio inside the house and me walking about two blocks away the reception was still pretty good a bit fuzzy but still pretty good.

      The belt clip slides straight up and detaches from the radio there's a little tab that you pull back and you simply lift the belt clip off. After removing the belt clip . You push down all the battery compartment and it should just slow out then you insert the batteries according to the orientation symbols inside they will be a little tough to answer but you simply just push them down.

      I remember being told in my freshman year that I would not be able to drive when I wanted to take drivers ed. Although with the help of one of my older brothers I did attempt to drive with him by my side. I came close to hitting some parked vehicles but of course with his hand on the wheel he kind of scared me away from them. That was when I realized that there was no possibility of me ever driving it's just not safe. I don't think any other legally blind person would be able to drive either. So when someone legally blind chances are more than likely that they don't drive.
