- To support my efforts to create more clips please donate to me at www.patreon.com/allinaday. I am very proud of the television series I made for PBS called Making Sense of the Sixties. I had the chance to spend a year examining my youth and how I became an active member of the 60s generation. If you are from that generation or a child of the 60s, I think you would find the entire series of value. To see my other work visit www.theHoffmancollection.com

What a time it was. Some things about it, I so miss. The music, the passion in the youth, the magic in the air. Neighbors and friends who were really there for you. Where did it go?
It's not as idealistic but the youth are stepping up in real time now.
D Savage search your self for the answer. Facebook, snapchat social media.
This is your time what you gonna do?
capitalism made everything about profit and safe bets. One of the things the 60s brought us in droves - fashion, music, art, film, sport, TV - all sold to the highest bidder and to the lowest common denominator. Of course, that's when the psychos in power weren't trying nuke all of us, start endless wars of aggression for power across the globe, assassinate their own leaders in silent take overs and generally exploiting everyone for their own greed.
At least the hippies tried but the fake (and also racist) war on drugs stamped out any chance of anything over than long term misery from taking over.
Health was terrible, apartheid was acceptable, race wars in america, more assassinations, false flags and propaganda.
Yeah - the 60s were a cesspit just fermenting away.
At least we had manufactured boy bands and the pill ffs
Incredibly moving ..

Wish I had a time machine to visit those idealistic times. I guess this film footage is the next best thing.
No, the next best thing is to be that moment now. There s plenty to do and it is just getting started.
philoza1000 my wife and I lived it!
@@tostentwo You could do both. Visit the 60s then come back here. Both have the good and the bad but I just feel we were more hopeful for the future then. :(
This was very touching!! I remember very well the day they killed John F.Kennedy,we here in Canada were so shocked. We loved him here! We prayed for peace in the U.S.A. We are all human beings,we should never see color.
Heroes.
Fear will change into faith, the human race will have to stop there egotistic ways and start repairing and prevent ignorance and destruction and start visualize a different way of living.
I was born in January of 63. I was 10 months old when JFK was killed. I consider myself a late end baby boomer.grow up in the late 60s,70s,and came of age in the 80s. I grew up in southern California close to San Diego.
Nobody asked.
@@OneLoveRSR nobody wants you here
Funny, I was born December '63 and do not consider myself a boomer at all!
They say the 60s happened in the U.K. in 1963 and in America in 1964!
This was more beyond 1963.
👍🏻 great film David

Well, if Students can't cut new trails through the political jungle, then who can.

This was and was not 1963. By that I mean 1963 was experienced differently by different individuals in different parts of the country. I was not shocked by the assassination of J.F.K.; but that is about it. The U.S. has an orderly succession plan and life went on. Segregation and the protests and riots were not in evidence in my state. The Cuban did not traumatize me in any way. What happened in Berkley had little impact on me and my university experience. So top think that this represents America from East to West, north to South is to misunderstand and misrepresent the diversity of the nation.
David, can i buy the whole 60s collection somewhere?
