- Aftermath: Population Zero - The World without Humans | Free Documentary
What would happen if, tomorrow, every single person on Earth simply disappeared? Not dead, simply gone, just like that. A world without people, where city streets are still populated by cars, but no drivers. A world where there is no one to fix bridges or repair broken windows…
After being on the receiving end of humanity for millennia, nature would finally be given a chance to take the world back.
But how would it work? How long would the skyscrapers and houses last if they were abandoned? How would suburban pets fare without people to feed them? How would the forests, the oceans and the wildlife react if there was suddenly an end to all the hunting, fishing and farming?
“Aftermath” is the astounding story of a world that humans will never see. The two-hour special examines the impact of human beings on this planet by proposing what the Earth might be like without people.

No. I don't think he's trying to make it scarey! We weren't around, remember?! And many of the animals survived, and the sea creatures. I thought it an excellent video! . Other civilization s have disappeared before ours. They didn't cause such trauma, and are mostly buried beneath the sand, yet here we are, today, amazingly. I think that nuclear power plants and nuclear energy were and still are the biggest of dangers, and all the reactors, and that was downplayed. The good thing about this video is that Earth was not completely destroyed, and plants and trees and animals and sealife survived. If we stopped using nuclear energy, and used our intelligence, there just may be a chance that humans could, too.
I don’t know when this documentary was made but the fact that the population has gone from 6.6 billion to 8 billion is just a few years in insane.

"The Earth can survive without us. But we can't survive without the Earth."
That was the strongest message conveyed. But, conveyed to whom? Anyone (politicians and corporates) listening?
How To Reduce Pollution
1. Many Production Companies Has To Be Stopped
From global warming or climate change there is going to be mass extinctions of humans and wildlife, we do not know when, but from pollution also we are going to face mass extinction.
We manufacture so many products and it is creating pollution and pollution has increased to such an extent that it has become a threat to the world. So if we minimise our products, pollution would be less.
We produce so many things which we do not need as a necessity, like cold drinks, leather products, potato wafers, chips, fruit juices, chocolates, biscuits, pickles, ice creams, etc.
Cold drinks, fruit juices, chocolates, biscuits, pickles, ice creams, etc. should be cooked at home only. Instead of cold drinks people should drink natural drinks such as lime water, coconut water or just any fruit, not any fruit juice, just the whole fruit which can be served when a customer comes in a shop, hotel or a person selling this drinks on a street and serve it to him. If we stopped producing this things which are not required as a necessity for humans, so much pollution could be reduced.
What about the companies that are going to be shut down. They would have debts to pay, just excuse them.
If we colour the clothes pollution occurs. So if we don't colour our clothes, the pollution resulting from colouring the clothes can be stopped. Let everything remain in white natural colour.
2. We Should Cook Foods In Its Natural Form
We can cook rice and wheat in our homes and eat it. Rice and Wheat is produced in farms. Then it is packed and transported to big warehouses, then wholesalers buy from them and supply to retail shops.
But if a manufacturing company makes bread from rice and wheat, then to make bread a manufacturing company has to be set up, machines and working staffs are needed. When a company is built many other things are also needed. Then at last a plastic pack is required to pack the breads.
So if we start cooking eatable things in its natural form then we do not need many companies like bread manufacturing company, tomato ketchup, noodles, fruit jam, pizza, burger, etc., the things required for the company and the plastic pack, paper box pack and glass bottles. If done like this, so many companies will not be required and hence less pollution for the world. Humans have to do this before it is too late.
If this is done, then many jobs would be lost. For that many peoples should do farming and they should be given loans if they do not have enough money to start farming on their own. Many people should study botany subject so that they have knowledge of plants and they should do farming.
Is their any another solution, that humans won't lose jobs and also planet earth will be saved.
Industrial jobs or planet earth, which should we save, planet earth is more important. Humans have to take this step certainly instead of going on polluting the earth, making wildlife extinct and also mass extinctions of humans after 100 or 200 years. Humans should not want this to happen.
no money from it no interest in it :D
We can just use geo engineering to fix climate change

We can survive by relocating to another planet. Ofcourse we can. But....will it be as diverse and beautiful with its flora and fauna as Earth?
This was one of the most fantastic documentaries I've watched in a very long time, it really kept me hooked right till the end, one reason was what I want to comment on, how did the camera men get some of those shots? A very important video showing we are a redundant species.
A genuinely astounding piece of filmmaking. The graphics and animations are seamlessly integrated into actual footage, the music is restrained, illustrative, and not overpowering, the narrator is pleasant to listen to and not hyperbolic, and the script is masterfully written. All of which made me feel like I was there in a world without humans (a bit ironic, that). My conclusion, though, is how said a world without us would be. What an amazing capacity we have to 'bend nature to our will', for better as well as for worse. I love people. While the seeming paradise our omission from the equation would produce an abundance for animals and their procreation, not a single creature remaining would appreciate the delicate beauty of a flower, the magnificence of a sunrise, the taste of a strawberry, the spiritual rapture of a hymn, or the magnificent cadence of the seasons. They would all be reduced to a single common purpose: eat or be eaten. That said, kudos for this amazing piece of work. Very well done.

I wonder how long it would take for our existence to completely disappear. I suppose the plastics buried would be a clue. Plastics are so enduring, unfortunately. This is a fascinating scenario. When I can't sleep I sometimes try to imagine what my surroundings would look like if every one were gone; after one day, then one month, one year, and so on. Ultimately, another human obsession with death.
This was so scary and intense to watch. At some point I was jealous of the narrator for making it alone that far.
What would happen if humans dissappeared from the earth? Answer: All of nature would breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Interesting doco. I was actually looking for (and still am) the 6 part series on Life After People. A lot of this seems to have been taken from that series.
When they were talking about the packs of wild dogs roaming the cities 30 yrs after humans, they showed a dog with a collar - after 30 yrs there wouldn't be any dogs that had known humans left. It would be a minimum of 3 generations since any dog knew humans.
I also think about pets in collars and harnesses. Adult animals would eventually loose theirs but pups and kittens would die horrible deaths.
The original version of this was xalled Life Affter People, from 2007 or 2008, then the TV series expanded on it...
Honestly, the saddest part was when the animals trapped in homes and pens died. Having them being hunted by other animals is just nature, but having them die because we trapped them was just sad.

Indeed, the earth can get by without us. But we cannot survive without it. I love how this documentary was made. Though, I think it would have been better if the other continents were also discussed more and not just focus on North America and some parts of Europe. But still, thank you for this.
It is an inescapable fact that one day, the Earth will no longer be there. We MUST (and I think we will) learn to survive without it.
Nothing in this documentary suggests that we can't. If it did it would paint a very negative picture of humanity.
The Earth is the cradle of humanity, but mankind cannot stay in the cradle forever.
Most places will look exactly the same as the ones depicted on here, they can only fit so much into a one hour documentary.

@bill Bloggs pretty sure this rock is hospitable contrary to your mad quote.... and if we are just animals then we are the apex predators on this quite hospitable rock. Just because you love an inanimate rock more than your fellow species does not mean you right either.....how facile 🤮
is a troll considered an animal?
Welcome back!!!
Idk but this video is super relaxing

Hope this gets showed in every school for years to come, so our children can see where we have gone wrong, and God willing they find ways to live with this amazing planet 🌎 and listen to what it is trying to tell and teach us
What a lovely comment. Thank you 🙏
Everything turns to dust in the end. We seem to have this childish notion we must continue indefinitely. We should respect the planet and each other, but at some point it will all end and to try a prevent this is futile. Enjoy it while it lasts.
I hope they teach people in schools that the past tense of "show" is "shown"

I’m sure the children will enjoy their trauma 🥴
After so many years, the camera man is the lone survivor
Maybe its a robot camera man...
And so the cameraman who cheated death at the wasteland cheated death once again..
Lol
Interesting piece of work. I would have liked to see a little more about the effects on the oceans. Would sea levels fall with the lack of warming? Earthquakes and eruptions would still occur. Also the lack of any speculation as to the fate of the desert regions and the southern hemisphere, Africa and Australia for example, was missing a trick.
Overall though, nicely done.
A very satisfying watch!
30 years after we disappeared, packs of German Shepherds rule the overgrown city streets.
So long as the leader isn't called Adolf.
Dogmeat no ;_;
Surprisingly it's pugs
yes we disappear next 100years like this way say
Yeah Another German empire🤔🙄
World without humans is a peaceful world.
How would you know if you are not there
Happy Virus apart from all the explosions and shitty water
Yall know that humans are slowly killing this planet.
@@Xie991 so are you
@@Xie991 Wont be as slow once we gone and none of safety systems getting maintained and it surly wont be a happy place when power plants go into meltdown and oil rigs start spilling into the oceans. If wont a happy place when we gone start fixing the damage
Absolutely fascinating xxx
A very nice documentary 💯💯
Who else has seen this documentary more than 10 years ago when it was released, time goes quickly, someone must make a new documentary about this theme!
The one I saw was much older than this one and they had made things much easier for the animals, this one though points out to more dangers for animals that man has left behind. But I still believe that these cities may not survive this long as predicted here. most of the worlds major cities are fire traps that will burn to cinders if left to its own devices,
wow .. I didnt realize it was that old ... Even now in covid 19 times , The skies have cleared and people staying at home has given nature back its rightful place , animals roaming big cities due to less people .....
@@jumrogan976 I saw one in I think the 70's, it was called "A world without us" or something close to that. I remember seeing it, but not a lot of the details. Would like to see it again.
Taste Like More There's no point in doing so, the "end" (for that is what it is) result should- if true- show exactly the same thing. You don't need hundreds of snazzy, fast-moving, high tech films to get across an important message. You must be the type of person who rented 15 videos a week when they first came out.
@Taste Like More - The one that I’ve seen was a show called “Life After Humans” from like 2009 ish
