- This is a recorded and edited version of the ingame version of "The Cistern".
It contains both verses. All unnecessary and annoying sounds were removed, second verse is just longyfied.
I recorded both verses from the PS4 edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider via optical out, so i could get it as clean as possible.
Verse 1: 0:00 - 4:21
Verse 2: 4:22 - 11:22
Actually this is the best version on CZcams, I couldn't find a better one.
Please share and spread this version so anyone can enjoy :)

This music really generates feelings of wonder and awe of the discovery of what ancient civilizations left in the world.
Reminds me of Skyrim... that place called High Hrothgar, really fits well.
Also going all around in tombs admiring how beautiful and amazing they look, and being so curious about the stories of the people that were inside, and the fights that was centuries ago, people fighting, crying, laughing, and everything, meanwhile it is actually in real life too, I love it so much, I wish I could be an actual archeologist, to know the past too...
It's an amazing game, it is the best in the whole series.
This music is so powerful it brings me a strong nostalgia feeling, like I wish I could replay Rise fo tomb Raider again without knowing it's history

I came for this 4:21, i stop my game just to apreciate this part, the feels...looks like something ancient and tragic lost in time and cold.
I couldn't have said it better, it is so powerful, solemn, ominous and yet somehow sad at the same time. It defines perfectly the mood of this game.
I just saw a documentary about the ruins of Herculaneum and can't help but think about this music.
I find it weird that the game's OST was completely unremarkable. Except this track found in one random optional tomb, which is godlike.
I guess it is kinda off topic but does anyone know a good place to watch newly released movies online ?

I hate that there are not other themes like this one on YT.
I could really use them to support my TTRPG sessions. This is by far the most appealing.
You can use it for exploring ruins of fallen civilization, abandoned mines and even foreshadowing or cliff hangers.
Its the only song from the reboot trilogy that reminds me of old tr games..... great
Whoever was in charge of compiling the OST together is a bloody moron to cut this gold out! Just a full CD of this on loop would do me.

Amazing track. I enjoyed solving the tomb puzzles and this music just made this portion of the game so much better! Easily my favorite game of the trilogy! Maybe I’ll start another play through this weekend. Can’t get enough of this game 😊

I played some of the optional tombs with this playing in the background I thought it fit perfectly!
To be honest I prefer this game's soundtrack over the tribal music in SotTR.
the music in shadow sucked imo, not one track that i could remember. and the track that plays while exploring the library in the mission and i think in the croft manor too even stood out to me for how bad it was, just mush with no structure or chords. the music in ROTR was just infinitely better, this track especially.

This should be called Challenge Tomb theme as this music plays in every Challenge Tomb and the Orrery

I loved this game. It had so much history and sent me down a rabbit hole of biblical research. It's so reflective of people's attitudes to religion at the time. Wow just wow. this game is an unheralded masterpiece

@@qetoun I'm not an adherent of any of the Semitic faiths, so the schism of early Judaism, Christianity and Islam are fascinating to me :). I read a lot about the council of nicea, Christian attitudes at the time, turns out kitzeh is a real legend. I read about how the kievan rus helped sustain orthodox Christianity and stuff

Best game ever made. I was constantly in awe while playing this game. My jaw literally dropped by how gorgeous every newly explored area looked.
That's a little too much. It sure wasn't better then Tomb Raider 2014 but better then Shadow of Tomb Raider.

This song was my favorite in the game (has a very gothic sound), and reminded me of some of the music from Path of Exile.

It's like the classic games, but remastered in an improved way with atmosphere like there's no f***ing limits. I would've missed this game, I must confess, unless it'd been on Gamepass for Xbox. I expected it to be total s**t, but I can't believe what I experienced. I've played all the previous Tomb Raiders, but somehow I thought this one wouldn't be worth playing since it was from Squirrel Phoenix. Just downloaded The Shadow of the Tomb Raider today, and I expect the same quality from the sequal.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is the best of all 3 in the trilogy. 1 was really good. 2 was better. 3 (Shadow) was a fucking joke of a game...
I agree that 2 was the best but I don't think that 3 is bad.

I think this is an ambient theme song of the composer but looks like they not stick it in the soundtrack of Rise.

Sorry i think I'm the only one that think rise is so overrated... is great game but not the best from the trilogy and franchise, i dont see any evolution about lara since the 2013 reboot, its lost some fantasy formula from the original and become so annoying. Is SO GOOD game but i think the first one was the best, Shadow tomb raider is OK.
Survival Lara it's still a shallow character, unfortunately. Disappointed with her development through the games.
It's true that the story and development were not the best.. but the potential and graphical design in it and her are beyond gorgeous. I wish devs and story writers really did better.
TR2013 is probably the weakest in my book, felt the least like Tomb Raider. Shadow was a little better, but I think Rise came the closest - although still not as good as any of Core Design's games.
The whole trilogy was a little weak in terms of characters and narrative, imo, but Rise is definitely my favorite in terms of atmosphere. That's probably because of my interest in ancient Rome (Byzantium) and its relation to the Slavic people. I loved the architecture and lore of this area. The ancient city area where you first encounter the Roman soldiers was beautiful.
Think what you wanr but the music is god tier. You think otherwise sorry you're wrong.
