The greatest moment I remember of Freddy Mercury was when I was 14. I'm now 46. That was also the day he died in 1991. This song was playing on the stereo as the TV flashed that he had just died. This song ment a lot to him. I'm glad he went with this song playing.
This was my dad's favourite version of this song and was played at his funeral. Whilst this holds obvious affections and memories, the version they did in Sao Paulo is just stunning. Over 250,000 fans there and Freddie had them in the palm of his hand. This ability is what made him the greatest ever singer, have the greatest ever voice and the greatest stage presence (watch the Live Aid set) and in turn made Queen the greatest live performers

After seeing Queen & Freddie perform live Aid on video last week, I realized what a grand performer he was and I wish I knew that when he was still alive. The man deserve all the attention he’s getting now and what a legend he was! He continues to inspire so many, even after his death in 1991.
I saw Queen live in Leeds, back in the day, it was the Flash Gordon tour. The were excellent, Freddie was exceptional, Brian was God like on the guitar, Taylor and Beacon were absolutely solid behind them, an absolutely fantastic show and fantastic performance.
My brother-in-law died from AIDS as well. This was in Ohio and I lived in Florida at the time and was pretty poor. My sister, his wife was the only one who went to his funeral. Then she came to live with me
