also another tip, as a ka100 owner i would recommend rotax engines. my karting friend owns a rotax engine and has barely had any engine problems, and now is in my class, ka4. I even drove his kart once and was loving it. my ka100 has had so many engine problems. many rebuilds has happened and even last clubday for me, we had 2 engines and both of them had reliability problems. this is just my opinion, and if you want to buy a ka100, your choice. Also another tip buy a rib guard like red said in the video, and i didn’t buy a rib guard and had bruised ribs for weeks then i bought a rib guard ( I bought a bengio rib guard), my ribs are now better and they are in better condition. hope this helps!
Did a few years of indoors and they the ones who told me to race outside . On 3rd year of rentals the track asked me to become a track marshal . Work A+D in morning then raced in afternoon. Then back the the next weekend to work club races . After management changed I bought my own kart . Thankfully got a great deal from a race dad . It was a adventure for sure ! For safety equipment never get in kart without kneepads !! My knees much older than me ! Injury ruined full season of racing now ☹️ . More a track marshal now and do a few rental races . Last race was November and did double duty. Most exercise I had since end of 2014 season ! Good luck for this year !! Canadian winter means still have a bit of a wait for track time ☃️🏁
How is this man not already insured kart next year! I just subscribed and I think to help this man out you should to:) thank you
Thanks mate you are a legend!
@@RedExions thank you

Thanks to a club championship I now have connections to professional go karting experiences and trying to get into that now with a team but also still balancing it with more rental kart experience. Either way, I am having a blast! I love racing...
Hi! I am really interested in starting go karting. I’ve only been karting a few times but this video is very helpful! Thanks!
is 25 too late to start? lol
No . U can start at any age .which seems reasonable
Never too late.
@@Apollowmkalso age 69?
Is 35 too late?
@oscarp9586 . 35 is quite late but yes u can start it as a hobby but it’s most likely u don’t get into f1 . But I got dreams for u
The pictures are quite funny, great video again!
0:45 i was not ready for that 💀
fr me either💀
The menu song from f1 2013... I see you have a good taste for music too... and 4:00 that caught me offguard

Love your driving mate
Thank you for all the great info
Great video man,
In my opinion if you dont plan on racing above club level Tonykart, Birel art , CRG, Sodi kart are good options for chassis. For engines Rotax Max evo or X30 senior are good options. For More experienced Drivers Rotax DD2 evo, OK senior or KZ2 are good options.
Cheers mate I'm just starting out I'll follow these steps they might help me out in my journey to be a f1 driver
In my case I basically did what u said about your local rental karting, I took a course and now I'm racing 4 strokes (I also gonna be racing the T4 nations Cup which is like a 4 strokes world cup) 4 strokes is also a cheaper way than 2 strokes and there might be some official competitions by the FIA soon so 4 strokes is another option
But what if there isn't anything local for me. Like it is my dream to start it but I'm not sure I'll be able to.
@@coconutsquelsh1733 I thought so before I started. My advice would be to ask local kartings if they have a team and then joining them. I assume that normally they'll have a 2 stroke one, but if you have the money and really want to compete its worth giving it a try. Another option is to buy the Tillotson and train untill this year's Nations Cup and then race there, by the way, where are you from? I might be able to help you if you tell me.
@@antoniomaartinez50 I'm from Ireland.
@@coconutsquelsh1733 Tillotson is based in Ireland so you can definitely start with their T4's there and then maybe look to make the move to 2 strokes if you have the money
You can book test drives to try them out (the T4's) to decide if you want to buy one of them
dig your style
I want to learn how to kart so if I have kids I can teach them.
Thank you so much for this guide!
Hey mate! Can you do a video of exhaust and engine cleaning?
Hey, where did you buy your green suit? It looks really nice. I want to get one. 😮
I understand that starting out in racing often means losing money at first. However, if money is not a concern for you, find a way to begin if you truly have talent. As you produce good results, people will start to recognize your abilities, and opportunities will come your way. Drive like your life depends on it.
Wow just came across this. Would love to try but yeah the money thing heh
You got this
Thx
No one runs Rotax here in the US.... it's X30. What you should have said was to visit your local kart club and see what classes they offer. But anyway, yes, karting is a money pit so I agree with you about trying arrive N' drive karting first to see if it's for you.
Rotax is popular in Florida due to skusa winter series.
those photos 😂
Win the lottery!
Tommy is a pal of mine, he is a really good guy
When you start with your own go kart shoudnt you start with the Honda gx390 engine? It's budget friendly and doesn't need a lot off work and you can turn alot off laps fairly cheap
Is a 2014 otk exprit chassis still competitive enough today?
what's ur lap around Lelystad I think I saw you there once
I always hoped i won't like cars cause i am broke.
I am currently 16 years old and I feel to old to get into karting because I was always in a money situation where I could not even go to K1 Speed very often so I could not get into karts but I still have always had a passion for racing and I feel like I finally have my chance to get into it but my parents are split and live in separate states so what could I do to get into go karts?
I like kart very much.
Thats usually how it goes, great talent no money. Money but little talent.
Question if Im trying to get into f1 how would I get into it
can i buy a go kart or i have to buy parts and build it?
I live in Massachusetts with no money and no competitive outdoor tracks ehat do i do
The track i went to didn't seem very enthusiastic about me asking about how to get into competitive kart racing. They basically told me it wasnt worth it to rent a kart from them and that they would have to weigh me down.
That is some bs advice. I recommend joing my discord server and asking your Q in the forum: discord.gg/3FkvzxN9uq
@RedExions yeah, it came off like they didn't want me to start racing or something. It was weird.
I want to start karting in Malaysia and try to set my path going to Formula One, I'm currently 13 and I know I want to start very late. I want some advice and information on how to start karting here in Malaysia. I live in the Shah Alam area and I want to try to talk to the owners of the Shah Alam Stadium circuit.
bro, i’m starting karting in malaysia too, but i live in johor! cheers! wish you luck on your career
I live in ny idk where any tracks are
What is right agen to start

hey everyone, so I'm really new to motorsports but I have a huge love for it and I've always loved cars growing up, and I have gone karting before and was told that I was really good, but I don't know if I have what it takes, I also mainly have two questions
one: does it take too much time off school? see as much as I would love to start a career in karting I don't actually know if ill do well so I want to have my education as a backup in case it doesn't work out, also im an IGCSE student taking 8 o levels this year, so I really want to know can I really train and join a karting team and still have time for school? ill say that im a good student it doesn't take me too long to study and I can multi task really well, so I do believe I can have time for both but I want to hear others opinion
two: how can I start it in a country where it really isn't as popular as say England or Italy? I found one track in my city that has a team but I don't know how much further I can grow from there, I heard my country bought some f4 licenses and are planning to have a regional f4 championship but thats going to take years and I don't even know if ill be in the same country by then
another thing I want to say, I really do love motorsports however none of my family are interested, so im not so sure they will be very happy about this, don't get me wrong they will definitely support me but I just don't think this is what they expected me to do, they always thought ill continue playing tennis, as a hobby and something to keep me fit, and mainly focus on school, so if karting will take away my time in school they would be disappointed, so what do I do in this case? I talked to them multiple times about going to the track and asking but they don't really take it seriously and im honestly embarrassed to bring it up at this point.
Hello, just thought I could try and awnser some of your questions.
1. Most karting competitions is usually on weekends with the exempt of weekdays, so you must be prepared to take a few days off or skip a few classes. Joining a karting team would be a good idea, they can upgrade your skills if you are thinking of going professional.
2. There are a few countries that aren’t as good in terms of growing since of the lack of tracks. However, if you are good and win interstate or even little competitions in your club, you can talk about sponsors or nearby competitions that will help you grow . It will be hard if there is barely any competitions, which is why the sacrifice is needed to use money and time to attend tournaments far away.
I also had the same problem with my family, aha, they didn’t seem keen on me ‘wasting’ time on karting. I told my mum I was passionate about karting, etc. and she decided to bring me to the track where I was able to show her I was serious and committed to racing. My family predicted I would stay in soccer as a sport, so they were surprised. So it was hard for me to tell them I didn’t want to participate anymore, and instead try karting. I am sure if you are firm with telling them, they won’t take it as a joke and instead support the commitment. ❤
🤝
I’m 13 and interested to start karting more competitively cause right now I just go and mess around with my friends

I’ve been racing for 3 years now, but I’m really trying to get into a professional series like USPKS. How do I get in with my cheap budget, or maybe even get a sponsor?
Get sponsors it helps a lot
@@andreskarting9669 Yeah but how?
If it's possible.. pick an event that's close to you so you have a little local knowledge
Run by yourself (Vs under a tented team), sleep in the car to save on expenses if you have to.
Sponsors are barely going to cover the bills in all reality, but there's lots of resources out there on seeking sponsorship. You best next step might be to work for a team at a USPKS event or even the series itself. Driving on a tight budget is about doing a ton of things that don't actually involve driving.
how old did u start
Genuinely curious but after a decade why don’t you move to a more advanced form of racing? Is it preference or is it just that difficult?
Preference. Its much more idk how to say it but dynamic and fun. Its more difficult imo thsn a gt or road car. Its also far cheaper
I have a question how can i get in to the fia karting??
Pay
First guy in the video
today i will go karting seriously for the first time so, thanks!
How did it go ? I was in your shoes back in 2008 !! Now more a track marshal than racer ! Poor me gets to stand around all day watching kart racing ☹️😁🏁🤣
@@eugene4643 how old were u when started
@@vampirate2347 The scary thing it was 45 years ago ! Drove lots of crappy karts until mid 30's . Then found a really good indoor place in 2005 and 1st real outdoor race was 2008 . Have done the double duty of racer / track marshal since 2011 .
Of course the people and the thrill of the race is awesome! Definitely found out a better A+D racer and track marshal than a kart owner 😁. Have had exhaust break a blown up motor. A stupid black flag for rear bumper coming loose . Zip ties solved that from ever happening again! One thing always have is knee pads to protect inside of knees !! My bones feel much older than what my birth certificate says and thankfully still some of my teenage brain is there ! When was 15 the age of 54 was really really old 😁 . Should be on track within next 8 weeks !!!! No matter what never try to fly a kart . Gravity sucks and back reminded me of that for 6 months. Of course was back for more the next week !
I recently did some outdoor rental karting with some friends at a track near where I live and there is another track even closer to me that is suitable for owner karts but I am not sure if I should buy a kart and race there or not. I’m not sure how to get into more competitive rental karting as I don’t think that either of those tracks offer it. How should I go about finding out if there is any competitive rental karting in my area?
just look it up on their website if they dont say anything about then just simply ask one of the employees the next time you go
How much does a kart cost
How many of y’all have won a kart race in your first race I dnf’ed in my first (then I proceeded to win pole lead every lap and win in my 2nd race
is het allemaal in genk?
Hello
When I first started karting the karts I used go 50 mph in Bristol Avonmouth I had a massive crash I was p1 my karting had a power problom so I was holding position and then the person behind me tapped my rear I drifted to save it I spun into the wall and hit the wall then 6 other karts rammed into the guy in 2nd and the guy in second his kart was on my head
Is dat genk?
What's the discord?
How to get started.
Step 1: have a deep pocket 💵
hello, my name is David and I am a Romania amateur kart driver, I dont own a kart but I go every weekend to race with rented karts in ranted circuits around Spain. I am 14 yers old, I know that I am too old right now to start karting but also I want u guys to tell me if is there any chance that I could get into kart at my age. Can you do kart racing as an adult?
The local track owner in my area says that “you’re too late. Leave it for the kids”.
Is it true?
Don't listen to him probably an old man that couldn't make it
If he means too late to progress into open wheelers like Formula cars... then yes, but if your goal is just to race karts and have fun, fuck him.
Of course you can race . Started off as a washed up never was in mid 30's and won championships at ages of 42 and 45 ! Thanks to medical BS don't race as much as I use to and more a track marshal than racer now . At 54 can still give the kids a hard time !! They won't let me race the guys my age because of my weight 🤣😂🏁 a good 40 pounds lighter than most of the " old guys " 😁

Sorry to be negativ but when you are 14 years old and you sre sick then how?
First
You are actually congratulations 🥳
SHOW YOUR soap competitions without
Planking!? LOL.
step 1 have a rich father
I hate money
Tell me you don't have money without telling me you don't have money..
Must be nice...
Pay attention with the laws in your country, some countries does not have any insurance to cover trainings sessions as a kart owner, and doesn't matter if you have an accident in another country where laws are differents, your insurance will not help you, it doesn't matter if you are in your right or not, you will struggle alone against the insurance company of the other driver. I was a confirmed driver and i touched a guy who didnt know shit about karting, he bought a kart and didnt know rules on a track, the result was 8 broken bones and a freaking big crash at 120km/hour for him, and 5 years of lawsuit to avoid a lot of money, a lifetime rent and jail for me. It ended well for me, but was a pretty traumatic situation for both families, and his legs never recovered entirely of the crash.
