It may not physically be a life-threatening issue, but living with it day today and trying to sleep at night can be absolutely maddening. It’s a cause of lots of a depression and anxiety. It’s very upsetting to have it just brushed off.
I used to hear the sound of thumping heartbeat during exertion and stress, and sometimes the sound of rushing blood. After treatment for anxiety from a natural health practitioner, both went away after at least a year.

You know, it's not even the silence that i miss at this point, i just genuinely miss life without constantly thinking of the ringing and being scared of loud noises. I can't enjoy simple basic things anymore because I'm constantly making sure my ears are safe so they won't get even more damaged
Same here, now I'm scared to close my eyes because I think I will hear it again. I really need to sleep for school tomorrow and so, from today I hear it in both ears and I don't know what to do.
Mine started 10+yrs ago. It began by listening to music loud on my headphones. Perhaps air pushed into the ears & started it (idk) .But it returned recently. What I do is put a cottonball and do my best to relax & rest & open my sinuses to breath better & eat better. Possible triggering factors: Headphones (stop this asap) , lack of sleep, smoking cigarettes & eating bad food that upsets the stomach/digestion system. Good luck to you all. You are not alone! Feel free to comment other techniques or causes. Good luck guys, God bless
When I was a teen, I used to fall asleep listening to loud music with earphones in my ears. After I turned 20, I was traveling in a car going up a mountain and I had sinusitis at the same time. I usually pop my ears when I feel pressure, so I pushed air into my ears and that's how it happened for me. Mine started out as a high pitched squeak and then it turned into a whooshing sound. Most of the time I try to ignore it but it's just bloody annoying. And yeah it's been about 10 years now for me too 😭
@@candacequinlin Perhaps it is the headphone speakers. So crazy how it happens. Also til this day, i pop my ears still. It has become a habbit as matter of fact. If i can't pop them, I feel off big time.
@@fortunergaming2435 I Stopped using the headphones and music loud for a few months and started relaxing my body, and massaging behind and around my ear. Lately it hasn't come back. Just pops up once a week for a quick second ,that's all. Sleep as much as you can. Eat foods that aren't hard to digest. Listen to your body when you're sleepy & avoid yawning, for me it brings it back. Also, if you wanna try showering in hot water, let it hit behind your ear. That usually loosens things around the body as well & is relaxing. Might not work for you but worth a try
I’m 24 now & developed this back in November 2019. I just woke up to it & thought maybe water got in my ear. Got antibiotics, then got an MRI/MRA & nothing. I come across this Dr. I’ve heard about named Doctor.P located in New York who has diagnosed many people & have also, cured them of it. I typically hear many people on a FB group page say it’s due to IIH, some type of stenosis, & other issues. I think the most bothersome issue with this is not having an answer. I still need to rule out my neck. If I knew for a fact it wasn’t life threatening I would suck it up & ignore it. But, knowing there is a possibility it could be something causes my anxiety to go through the roof if I think about it enough.
I have a heart beat on my one year while hiccups and yawning. What may be the issues. It's just started yesterday. No fever, headache, earpain. Just a throbbing sound . Can anybody share your experience.
@@EC-yd9yv I still have the whooshing. After countless appointments I have not been given a real diagnosis. I remember being able to hear my heartbeat in my ears as a young child while trying to sleep at night. As an older adult I have severe tinnitus in both ears and partial sudden-onset hearing loss in my left ear that started in the Summer of 2011. I can't do anything about it so I refuse to focus on it. I sleep with a fan on or an AM radio tuned to a quiet spot on the dial so I can only hear the rushing sound (white noise). It helps a lot. 😊
When I mentioned this to a Dr I once had instead of brushing me off thinking I was just ignorant I wish she would have explained this to me. I’ve always thought it was my HBP or CHF issues, this video helped .
My father has been dealing/ suffering with hearing his heart bear non-stop for 10 years now. I don’t know how he keeps going as it has to be maddening! I found a doctor in NY recently that seems to specialize in PT and planning to set an appointment very soon to see if my father can be treated. The name of the place is Weil cornell brain and spine institute- just wanted to pass this along to others. 🙏 hoping everyone finds peace
I am totally grateful for the quick response i got from Dr ogbebor herbal centre on CZcams .he cured me of tinnitus with his herbal medicine and supplement.
The problem is most of the people that have this don't have adequate insurance to go to places like that! It's very disheartening that doctors won't help unless money is involved
I have had pulsatile tinnitus for over 6 years now. I have an AVM fistula, one of the largest three neurosurgeons that consulted together on my condition had seen. I also was diagnosed with a glomus tumor as well. I have had 5 embolizations over that time, but none have helped. The last one I went through with approximately 3 years ago ended up having a complication that caused paralysis to my right vocal cord, right swallowing muscle and right soft palate. I had no voice for over 4 months and had to go to speech therapy to get what I have now back. It's now worse than it's ever been. The pulsing is obviously constant, but the sound has increased in volume within the last 6 months. I also feel the sensation of the pulsing, as well as the pain and constant headaches from the ballooning vessels of the fistula. People who don't have this just don't have an idea how debilitating this is. Getting through the day is tough enough, dealing with work and trying to do anything productive even more difficult.
How did they diagnose your condition? I had an MRA done that determined I have a high jugular bulb. The last time I had an episode was 3 years ago but I'm currently dealing with one now. I recently had an upper respiratory infection that caused fluid behind my ear and I'm guessing that fluid is pushing up against the jugular bulb which is causing the heartbeat sound
@@650tonyd I had several CT scans, MRI, etc. The glomus tumor showed on those and because my AVM is/was so massive, it was kind of hard to miss, lol. My pt has never gone away, and has increased significantly over the last 6 months or so or maybe slightly longer. Since mine is a result of the AVM, it'll never go away unless something permanent can be done to remedy that, I'm afraid.
@@jeffreylevenson5058 I'm sorry to hear that man. I think there's a doctor at UCSF though who is specializes in doing AVM surgeries. Look into it. Cuz when I first found out I had PT I was going through everything that could cause it and looking up all the specialists
Thanks. Yes, mine is pulsatile as well. The neurosurgeon that did the 5 embolizations so far is one of the top in Michigan as well as in the country and the complications that arose from the last embolization were a fluke but even so, I still ended up with the paralysis regardless. I finally do have an appointment with another neurologist/neurosurgeon near the end of next month for a second opinion, so we'll see what they have to say.
I learned this in sixth grade anatomy. There are tiny hairs in the cochlea that get stimulated with sound. That stimulation then goes to the brain. I have tinnitus predominantly in my left ear. In 1995 as an adult, I got mononucleosis, and for a year and a half was plagued with one infection after another, one of which went into my ears. What happened to me is that I had liquid mucus buildup behind my eardrum. To an ENT doctor, my eardrum felt like a brick wall. There was no motion. And, in the middle of my infection, I could not hear out of that ear at all. He ended up piercing my eardrum to drain the build up of mucus. Later, another ENT blew a white powder with a straw into the hole created by the eardrum piercing, and voila -- he cured the infection. Later they remove the little plastic tube that they put in my eardrum for drainage. He told me that the eardrum would seal itself and I suppose it did. Now what I’m left with is a bunch of dried fluid around a certain few hairs inside my cochlea, which prevent those particular hairs from being able to receive certain pitches. Additionally, they are gooped down with dry mucus, which causes the tinnitus. My cochlea needs cleaning. But how does one clean inside a cochlea? This will cure tinnitus and if you can figure out how to clean it, then you will have a cure for tinnitus.
This just happened to me yesterday, i didnt tell my guardians. But today i did. I asked my mom at midnight that my right ears are bumping or ringing like my heartbeat, cuz I couldn't sleep at all. My mom asked for some help on the internet. Is not serious but i just can't stand this sound at all! Is very annoying. I couldn't even sleep. My mom said the reason was because of how i always touch my ears. So if you didnt have this problem yet. I tell you, dont touch inside your ears too much. Or touch it too hard. Your ear isnt going to feel pain but still. Is not barrable for teens and including myself as a teen. After you shower make sure to unwet your ears, you have to dry your ears, every time you shower. Pls do it. Is really not a serious problem but it might cause you of losing sleep. Pls be aware of this! Stay safe! 🌟🌟🌟

I was scared when I first got this 2 nights ago, I couldn’t sleep but I thought maybe its just a one time thing. The next night I had it again, I laid in bed for 2 hours trying to sleep until I snapped. I looked up what it was and it didn’t seem very promising. I saw someone in the comments say this could also be related to and infection of the ear or sinus. I knew that was it because the first time I got this feeling in my ear was also the first day of my cold. I cleaned out my right ear with olive oil and water from a syringe at 2 at night and I found some strong nose spray my mom uses. About an hour later I finally gain the confidence to lay down again and I prayed for it to work. And it worked! I was super relieved. So if you’ve only just been experiencing this, try cleaning out your sinus and your ears first.
I just started having this in October. It started with dizziness then it went away, I did catch a cold but now it’s almost like my right ear drum is popping in out fast for a few seconds. I went to an urgent care and said I had negative pressure and little bit of fluid in my ear. Told me to use allergy medicine. Didn’t believe them. So now after it comes and goes throughout the day I’m finally seeing a ENT to see what’s going on.

I woke up with this whooshing sound in my ear, I looked it up, and did some relaxing breathing techniques, mine surprising went away for now. But when I yawn, swallow, or even chew my ears pop and it makes it sound stuffy, then I have to plug my nose and suck in for it to go away. Doctors don't know why, they say the tube that connects my nose a ear is the issue but I want to know if others have it like me
I've gotten it about 3 times, and each time it starts it lasts 1 month, but it would start right after an extreme stress situation, like someone I'm caring for having a very bad fall and being unable to get up, and I have to handle the situation alone. Same for the first two occurrences. I have very low LDL cholesterol at a 7 year vegan, so it's not plaque in my case. Regardless I'll go to an ENT and get it checked sometime, thank you.

Its all under control now but my ears won't stop. Especially the left ear. I just want quiet. I miss it. just thought I would talk about it here. Praying for anyone that has this. It's horrible.
I am very sorry to hear this happened to you and thank you for sharing your story. Actually there is a video on CZcams about covid vaccines causing tinnitus, you may want to check it out too. I came across it when I searched for tinnitus. I never got them. I have had pulsatile tinnitus for around 6 months now. It started suddenly and I think it is a result of stress and also use of some supplements. So far I have done a hearing test, head MRI and heart check too as the sound is pulse. All came back normal. The head MRI didn't show the ear area so they suggested I do another scan. Have you done temporal bone scan? Have you checked your blood? I am hoping I will get an answer, I think this may be related to middle ear or blood flow around there although done blood test and didn't identify anything. Mine happens mainly when I am laying down. Based on my understanding there are a variety of things that could cause this type of tinnitus. It's important to check it to rule out more dangerous things.

If you have this, please go to a doctor. Pulsatile tinnitus may appear without reason, but also it can suggest that is something wrong in your body. I have pulsatile tinnitus for about 3 weeks and I did all the tests (MRI, MRA and ultrasound of carotid arteries ) and they did not show anything bad. After excluding all the possibilities, my neurologist told me that it is possible to be from a bad position of the cervical column because my life is sedentary and I sit on a chair for about 8h a day.
Hmm... I recently had this on and off over the next few months. I started a work from home job almost a year ago. Despite working out 3x a week, I don't think I move around enough.
Mine is intermittent and only in the left ear. It pauses when I manipulate the inner ear canal. My left ear has ringing tinnitus from hydro-pneumatic trauma and a structural defect (MRI). The constant ringing doesn't bother me. The pulsatile occurs in the left ear usually after cleaning my ears or additional minor trauma.

Just gave my blood test for iron, ferritin , CBC test, vitamin d and more. I experience PT whenever I stand up from a sitting position. Also, I can hear it pretty loud when I'm moving around a lot or when I'm exercising. It lasts for about 10-15 when I stand up from a sitting position. But it remains loud and constant during exercise. After exercise, it fades away. PT doesn't affect my sleep as I don't hear it at that time. But normal tinnitus does. I can hear a high pitched ringing sound in my ears. This makes it hard to sleep. I have been suffering from PT for about 2 months. Normal tinnitus just started a week ago. Also, along with PT and normal tinnitus, I experience dizziness and lightheadedness (blackout) when I stand up from a sitting position. I occasionally experice slight chest pain ( once or twice a week) . I experience heart palpitations as well. I explained all thse symptoms to the doctor and got my bp checked. Turns out, it was low. 118/64. Diastolic bp was low. She suggested I might have anemia as most of the symptoms were related to it. Anyways, I gave my blood test. Will update yall soon

My doctor told me most cases can't be found. I found a new doctor and he found my cause. I believe most of the time it's caused from upper respiratory infections. When the ear gets full of fluid it can push against blood vessels which will cause the auditory sounds that you hear. But it's always good to investigate the cause because mine is caused by a high jugular bulb

After suffering with debilitating pulsatile tinnitus for nearly a year & a half & being completely dismissed by ENT as “you’re completely fine”, I thought I was losing my mind (and was basically being treated as if I were overreacting). The noise was so loud, like a loud helicopter that had taken over the right side of my brain- it felt like the noise had taken over half of my head!! I could only hear (the outside world) out of my left ear. I couldn’t sleep & was depressed because ENT treated me as if I was crazy (they did CT & MRI and said they were normal). Finally saw a neurosurgeon who suspected a fistula, so she did a cerebral angiogram. It ended up not being a fistula, but transverse sinus stenosis. She tried a balloon angioplasty that didn’t work & now I have 2 stents. Eventually diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension.

Also, avoid sleeping directly on the ear that's doing it. I believe that helps too
I’m 24 now & developed this back in November 2019.

@@jeffreylevenson5058 do you feel like surgery made everything worse. My doc said nothing helps this kind of tinnitus
Stay safe! 🌟🌟🌟

I can hear my heartbeat very loud in my left ear and in my right ear a high pitch noise and one day my left ear went completely deaf for a couple days and cured randomly pls help
Am I having this thing?
The whoosh feeling-whooshing like a heartbeat.
It RARELY happens. But when it happens, it is when I woke up from a nap/sleeping.
After the whoosh feeling gone, I'm awake, and I feel like kinda energetic.
The same thing is happening to me
I’m 15 And Mine Never goes Away
Did it stop
I did these tests for pregnancy last week and it started since then. I was hoping it would go away
Mine started rather suddenly about a month ago in left ear. Have recently started blood pressure medication, so not sure if it's related or not. I only get relief if i apply pressure to left side of neck, or if i turn my head to the left.
I've noticed various meds indeed can cause or intensify this...I wish you the best on your health journey! 🙏
same with me
Medication can cause it mine seemed to have started this time after BP meds try chewing gum
I think I'm having this problem since last two weeks. But I do not continuously hear the beating sound, it happens randomly. Does other people hear it continuously?
Looked up this video because i was hearing and feeling a very obvious throbbing in my right ear that was in sync with my pulse. I was eating a sandwhich when watching the video, and when i was done eating it the sound was gone. Saved on medical bills!
Just got my blood reports. Turns out, I have severe Vitamin D deficiency. All other vitamins and minerals were fine.
Doctor prescribed me with vitamin D 50000 IU pills to be taken once weekly for the next 60 days.
Tbh, I don't know if PT and Vitamin D deficiency are related. Only time will tell.
Will see how I feel after a week.
@@octane4520 Keep us updated!

Bro did you feel heartbeat or pulse inside head ??
It really disturbs me from 6 months .
My all ECG ; ECHO ; CT SCAN of brain ; AUDIOMETRY all was normal but my head is pulsing everyday . It feels like my heartbeat feels inside my head whole day 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Thank you!!
I’ve been having a thumping noise for the past three weeks and it normally happens when I burp or I yawn it’ll start thumping and then it goes away. It’s almost like a nerve inside my ear.
Doctor , would you say in most cases PT cause can’t be found ? Can PT happen because of stressful period in life ?
My doctor told me most cases can't be found. I found a new doctor and he found my cause. I believe most of the time it's caused from upper respiratory infections. When the ear gets full of fluid it can push against blood vessels which will cause the auditory sounds that you hear. But it's always good to investigate the cause because mine is caused by a high jugular bulb
I can hear the pulsating sound in left ear while lying down sideways. Standing up it is more like a humm sound going up and down
I've had this for 13 years now
Try Hijama
i Get these Heartbeat sounds from my throat Happens very Rarely But when it dose it really weird
Hi, i need help, i have Tensor Timpani Sindrome and it is affecting my sleep, is very disturbing i can't get rid of it, i hear it almost all time, what can I do?
I have this, but it's been off and on for the last five months. So, I don't even know if I should bother getting it checked out or not?
I usually hear heart beats in my left ear and only my left ear, it happens when I try to watch a CZcams video and the person talking has a quite loud voice, even if I lower my volume it doesn’t help.
SAME
except-
It’s not exactly like a pulse, it’s more like a rapid flapping sound
I'm recently dx with Pulsatile Tennitus on my R ear and it's been a month and half now and I still can can hear the whooshing sound like the rhythm of my heartbeat and it is so loud that is affecting my sleep and I wish for it to go AWAY. Sometimes when I'm destructive I can't really hear it. Soon I will go for CT angiography to see what causes it. I really hope I'm gonna get better soon.
Note: When I exercises it actually stop for at least UP to 10 MINUTES or when I do purse lip breathing while pushing in my Tragus (part of the ear)

How old are you?
@@JayyDoesStreamingTV you have it for 15 years?
I'm a paranoid child so everytime I'm anxious or stress i can hear it, is it normal while having stress?
Eventually diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension.
sorry to hear but how r u now?
That’s awful. Sounds very serious.
I’ve had bad experiences with ENT doctors to. I’ll look into seeing a neurologist.
I’ve heard that it could simply be a potasium deficiency, also causes arithmetic issues, a flutter of the heart, irregular heartbeat.
I have been going through this since 2019 visited my doctor bought a lot of medicines 💊 and till beating like drum😪

Mines comes on more when I’ve drank alcohol the night before and I’m in the early morning waking up abs feeling a little hungover. Is this an alcohol problem ? I’m quite a heavy drinker. Im25
This just happened suddenly when I was laying in a weird position on my bed and when I sat up it went away, I think it only happens for me when my head is in a certain position. Is that bad?
Was brushed off, but had MRA which showed a blood clot and fistula. Getting angiogram next.
How are you now is it working or not...actually I hav pulsatile tinnitus
@@mybhagodasoul8587 I can manage, been able to habituate the swooshing heart beating sound, but the risk of surgery is too high to remove the DAVF for a permanent fix.
@Jean Paul Jean Paul how old are you ?
@@batoulibrahima 46 now, having MRI next month. Having blood flow reflux that presents as another TIA. The risk of having it treated with Onex or a coil is another stroke, or facial nerve damage.
It's their any solution for this doc? Pls do something 😣
what about pulsatile tinnitus that is approx. double the heart rate (based on radial a. measurement) and is only appreciated post-alcohol ingestion. Vasodilation-related? Any clues? Real case.
Same here I notice it more the next day when I have an hangover but I do get it sometimes when sober but almost always when I have a hangover
I have had pulsatile Tinnitus for about 6 years now. Mainly in the left ear. I've come to terms with it and made friends with it as there is no getting rid of it. Occasionally at night when I awaken it is barely perceptable and moves mainly from the left ear to the right ear. As soon as I get up it is back in the left ear as loud as ever LOL. As long as I hear it I'll know I'm still alive. It is pure misery to try to sleep on most nights. I think the hearing loss in my left ear has the nerves in that area that accept sounds from a normal ear are instead picking up the sound of blood flow since my hearing in that ear is now almost gone............................Bob
I can’t hear the specialist you mention ?
Otolaryngologist or ENT (ear nose throat doctor)
Please help me, I don’t know what is my problem, I just hear the noise under loud voices, it’s 2 years now, it’s appeared after me having GBS. sometimes when my father speaks I close my left ear because of his voice, when I turned this videos volume up, I couldn’t continue for 5 seconds, it’s not my heart beats, it’s the voices it self, what is that?

Mine is sometimes the heartbeat whoosh or a roughly 80 to 100 beat per min tapping that isn't my heart.
Ugh it pulsates so much I can hear how my ear presses more against the pillow
I suggest looking into a neurosurgeon to see if a AVM is the reason why the pulsatile tinnitus is there.
Good luck everyone
I can do this at will
