  • Line 6 of the Paris Metro is perhaps the most popular with tourists because it embodies the Belle Époque spirit, we all romanticise about when it comes to Paris. It runs above ground to a good part and allows us views over the historic south of Paris and its landmarks. The line opened stepwise between 1900 and 1909.
    In this video we ride Line 6 on its 1906 extension - also including the section on the Bir-Hakeim Bridge over the Seine and the famous view of the Eiffel Tower.
    The train is an MP73 rubber-tired metro from the year 1973. These trains are a bit shaky compared to newer MP89 but still I will miss them when they get replaced someday…
