I have watched many of your videos as well as those of other CZcams creators, simply because we want every piece of information at our fingertips to have the vacation my deserves. Once you get a Navigo card and learn how to load tickets onto it (at a kiosk or with your phone) it is all easy. The only detail I might bring up that isn't mentioned here is that at some times of the day the RER frequency is can be less than with the metro so even if the RER might be faster to get to your destination you might find the metro the better option.

You mentioned "regional trains" included in some ticketing schemes. Are those _Trasilien_ lines (or are they called different now - I last used them almost 20 years ago) ?
I _love_ your city and i am a public transport nerd. Apart from museums (I _especially_ like _Musée d'Orsay,_ Egypt and Mesopotamia collections in _Louvre,_ _Musée Marmottan Monet_ and _Musée de l'Orangerie,_ whatever is currently in the _Institut du Monde Arabe_ and _Centre Pompidou_ etc etc; I also visit incredibly impressive _Mémorial des Martyrs de la Déportation_ whenever in Paris) and, obviously, bistros and cafés, exploring public transportation of Paris is my favourite activity there. I was once lucky enough to be there when, for one day, historical metro trains and buses made their rounds - that was spectacular. (Yes, and exploring the canal network - another fascinating segment of transportation in Paris.)
I plan to visit in the spring of '25, well after the Games, with the explicit goal of exploring the complete tram network and new lines of _Grand Paris Express._

    • @paristoptips

    • @paristoptips
      @paristoptips  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Many questions 😁
The Orange card has been renamed Navigo in 2010.
You can get a Navigo card both at Orly and CDG. And yes, RER from CDG to Antony, and then Orlyval to Orly (not included on Navigo), is often the fastest solution between the two airports. Or, RER to Denfert Rochereau, and then Orlybus (included in Navigo) to Orly.
      Yes, the Batobus still operates.

Are 10-ride passes valid only in Zone 1? I think the St. Croix de berny station is in Zone 3, right? Yes, La Croix de Berny is a RER B station in zone 3.And the 10-ride passes will not work there as they are only for zones 1 & 2 on RER and metros.
So you can either purchase an individual mobilis ticket zones 1-3 at 11,60€ per day or purchase a Paris Visite zones 1 to 3 at 22,65€ for two days.
From Orly, the ideal choice would be to take the Orlyval, and then RER b for 1 station, but it would cost the crazy price of 13€50 one way, per person. I would recommend you to take a taxi, as in fact, Croix de Berny is really close to Orly.

No, Navigo Easy will not help you for Versailles. When you are at the RER station (Champ de Mars Tour Eiffel, just near your hotel), you have to purchase a"Ticket to Paris Region", then select Versailles Château Rive Gauche and buy two tickets. The cost will be 8,30€.
There is not much risks of mugging in the Paris Metro, but a higher risk of pickpocketing.

I''ll be arriving in Paris thru CDG Airport, and my hotel is close to Gare Montparnasse, where I will take tha train on the next morning to the south of France.
On the day of my arrival, I intend to take the RER to Denfert Rochereau and just walk to the hotel, and I'll have the whole day to visit some Paris attractions.
Since I have to use the RER from zone 5 to 1, do you believe that the best option would be getting a Navigo Easy card and and charge it with a one day transit pass? I believe that It would cover the transportation from the airport and unlimited trips within Paris metro.
Please let me know if you believe that there are any better alternative.

"I believe that It would cover the transportation from the airport and unlimited trips within Paris metro.": it would definitely. This said the navigo easy card costs 2€ and the day pass 1 to 5 costs 20,60€, so 22,60€ in total. The RER B from CDG to Denfert-Rochereau costs 11,80€. So, in your first day in Paris, will you be using more than 10,80€ (22,60-11,80) worth of tickets, so, more than 5 t+ tickets?

The t+ ticket only allows you to ride the metro, buses, and RER but only inside Paris. You had to pay 4 € because you were outside of Paris, I guess. And yes, if you've bought tickets on a bus, you can't use them in the RER outside of Paris.

I wish I would have read this sooner. Cause I bought the t-ticket to go back thinking it was the right ticket. Waited at a counter 15min but no one there so had to buy myself at a machine. On arrival i got stopped and had to pay 2 times €35 fine cause we had the wrong ticket. Apparently we can use the wrong ticket to get to la'defense or somewhere.. (In other countries a wrong ticket just won't let you get in). The guards kept saying we aren't in Paris (at arrival) but to me, a foreigner for the first time in Paris, I'm still in Paris at arrival. I have no idea where 'Paris' stops. It's Disneyland 'Paris' and people there also say 'here in Paris'. So if Paris can be that far away, I would never have thought we would be outside Paris. The guards were absolutely without any compassion nor understanding for us tourists. We've spent hours and hours trying to figure it out and finally we thought we knew the way. Every time we ask somewhere people say different things which is extremely confusing.
