This should probably be titled "Lizzy McAlpine's producer Philip Etherington Breaks Down Ceilings while Lizzy comments occasionally" lol but good video
i love ceilings so much. seeing the process and instrumentation stripped back like this is just wonderful!
She’s re-living the recording moments when listening to it, such a great artist 🤙
the first time i listened to this song it was from a live stream on instagram and i had just gone through a weird abusive breakup and i swear to got this song touched me in ways no song has ever done before and i sobbed to it for weeks- i'd do anything to hear it for the first time again
CEILINGS IS JUST EVERYTHING
underrated channel, you're pulling out so many artists I've been in love with for ages that never seem to share much of their process usually!
One of my favorite Lizzy songs
I love how proud she is of this 🥺
Came for the break down, stayed for the fingers and nuts ASMR
whole album is insane what a vibe
❤❤❤❤ such a beautiful album!!
The tiny desk concert was the best
Absolutely magnificent video, it's awesome how the song is being built instrument at a time, and ends with the creations of this masterpidces
4:12 i love how she embrace herself as if she this song is her confort one, like me
you always have on the best artists!
also a full video of the entire interview would be incredible!
Check out the Podcast... I think they can't post full episodes here due to copywrite
MY FAVE SONG
So beautiful, thanks for sharing
I love her just being herself the whole time from the beginning❤️
so good
OMG it's Lizzy's breakdown!??
Okay just upload the rest already!
Love Lizzy!!!
love the sound of this one! Love the percussion process for this. creative.. esp when they dont have to be (not broke)
I giggled that he went the bass needed someone else to record it better than his due to their "magic fingers" but then its literally just held dotted half notes XD
side note. Just relistened to the song and it was over way too fast lol
I was getting into it and was like wait whut? yet.. its 3 min but feels like 1 or 2
It's a tone thing!
i wish they included the harmonies from the demo. In all honesty the demo was so much more intimate whereas the final was very cinematic. still pretty but man i wish she would release the demo officially
Strongly agreed, the final master isn't very contrasty compared to this version
It's the bass for me. The moment it hits on the second verse I just get lost in the music completely...
Great video! What’s the name of the string arranger again? I didn’t catch it.

@@anonymouscat9767 Amazing Thanks!
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE HER TOP IS FROM I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR WEEKS
I did a double take when I clicked on, thinking that was JP Saxe with glasses
i thought that was jp saxe lmao
Production is so interesting to me. My mind is NOT wired for it though. I wish it was.
If you want to you can everyone sucks when they start
I see u milena 🤓🔥🤯
Really?
Goodness i was wondering HOW did they make it.
producers need more respect
I thought this was JP Saxe lol
Label: so who would you like to produce your record?
Lizzy: I'd LOVE to work with FINNEAS
Label: Sure no problem.... **think she'll notice?**
Well, Finneas sang a song with her on this album, so.... :) czcams.com/video/N3UHf-NmD98/video.html
😂
Great production. But the vocal sounds heavily melodyned to me, such a shame!
It might, but check out the same song from a live gig , she sings really really good czcams.com/video/CjFjc382ZoQ/video.html
@@asdfhun totally. You can hear her intonation and phrasing through the tuning, so clearly she can sing beautifully. I just think this is a case where the producer overcorrects and presses the soul out of a performance in post-production. She is a fantastic vocalist and doesn't need to be hidden behind efx
No disrespect but for me I think Lizzy’s voice/voicings, lyrics and acoustic playing ability make these songs. The rest is fine but can kind of be taken or left. It’s a testament to her and her song writing. But for the producer to sit and talk through these percussion samples and the string arrangements, as if they’re unique or special, all that’s just meh to me.
Loved the podcast
Is there a way we could watch the whole video? Rather than just the audio?🥹🥹🥹
That would be nice
she has great talent but the redhead homie just overthinks and overproduces this music into a tragic state... yikes
