What a wonderfully thorough explanation of premium leathers in general and the Duclos leathers in particular. Thank you! My only hesitation in purchasing the Diane bag is that the metal plaque on the sides and bottom won’t hold up well in the tropical climate where I live.

You are incredibly articulate, and you have a level of sophistication, yet you explain things in a way that is easy to understand and makes learning about the different levels of quality of a product really interesting.

Baring in mind they are much older pieces , would the quality still be as good as you previously discussed , and do you think they would both be suitable investments ? Colombo is a fab brand. As long as it’s the Italian Colombo I would never hesitate to buy any of their bags. I really like this brand and I’ll be exploring more of it in the future.

My Diane bag is being made, but I have been to the flagship in person. The hardware is a standout, this is a true heirloom bag. I will try and circle back after I'd had my bag for a year. I'm a working mom so my bags get a lot of wear and tear

I for one was not educated on "heritage leather" or that Chanel-owned tannery! I assumed that this leather was essentially the same as "natural leather" - I think of the Celine bags in the classic tan color that is beautiful, but scratches easily. Is heritage leather almost like a trademarked version of this type of unfinished leather? I've been lusting after the JD Diane bag since last summer and this video didn't help matters 🙂 Thank you for the wonderfully informative video!

Yes it’s a trademarked leather Novonappa and different brands have their own name. It’s definitely a different league to Celine leather 🤦🏾♀️
