No matter what you do for a living, youâre always selling.
Whether itâs selling a product, service, or even yourself.
This might take the form of a meeting, presentation, or even talking to someone youâd like to work in an elevator!
But without understanding the basics of creating your elevator or sales pitch, most people end up rambling about themselves, leaving their audience bored.
So in this video, weâre going to cover the most effective ways to craft your elevator pitch and sales pitch to get the results youâre looking for.
By the end of the video, you're going to walk away with a powerful elevator pitch template you can use to pitch anything.
The first essential element to creating your elevator pitch is understanding who your audience is.
Itâs essential to make sure you tailor your elevator or sales pitch for that specific individual or group.
Next up, youâll also have to define a clear outcome for your pitch.
Whether thatâs to pitch to move forward to the next meeting, next job interview, or close the sale right on the spot.
Once you have the pitching mindset down, youâre going to need to learn how to pitch whatever it is youâre selling in ONE SENTENCE.
Itâs vital to clearly communicate your value and why your audience should continue listening within the first 5 to 10 seconds of your elevator pitch.
To do this, weâll be using the formula, I help X achieve Y by doing Z.
This elevator pitch and sales pitch formula can be applied to all types of industries from marketing agencies, real estate, and SaaS technology products.
Finally, once you learn how to master your one-sentence pitch, youâll be doing your full pitch now that your audience is interested in what you have to say!
And to craft your elevator pitch, youâll be answering three basic questions.
1) Challenge: What challenge is your audience is facing that you might be able to help them with.
2) Solution: What is your proposed solution to solve this challenge. It can be in the form of a product, service, idea, or even yourself.
3) Why:
Why âThisâ - what value does your offer bring to them, explain why they must solve their challenge
Why âYouâ - even if you have a solution, why should they choose you out of all the other alternatives out there
Why âNowâ - even if âThisâ and âYouâ make sense, why should they do this NOW instead of next week or next year
Using this simple formula, youâll be able to craft the perfect elevator pitch and sales pitch.

Great video Patrick! Hope to go in your Sales Legacy someday. My no. 1 challenge in sales is selling branding & design services. Been through for years.
If youâre learning how to sell, I would focus on the fundamentals. Find people who really need your offer and have money to actually pay for services. Then find a way to get meetings. If you can get those things down, you should be solid.
@@patrickdang thanks Patrick. That's really reassuring to me as it is what I am currently working on. It's amazing what you have gone through with Oracles by the way. You made sales like it's so smooth as expected from an expert like you. Really wish I can be an expert like you someday. Hope to see more videos from you! #keepmovingforward

So I got "I Help Project Managers Thrive on Stress by Realizing their Natural Inner Strengths"
OK. I thought that "thriving on stress" rather than suffering from stress symptoms is the desired end result. But now I think about it, it's very vague and there is no threshold to measure against that says "yes, I achieved it". So thanks for that insight. I need to think harder.@@patrickdang

âI help engage the community to work together to solve problems by identifying barriers through research, which in turn gives government officials a baseline where investments are needed the most.â Please provide feedback on where improvements need to be made. Loved your video. Very informative.
My two cents, I'm not sure what you do. Do you help the communities get government funding?
1. maybe restructure. I saw that you help communities solve problems, but I'm not sure how the rest of what you said does that.
2. maybe cut length by 50-75%. There seems to be a lot of detail that is confusing me. For example, the first clause has 5 actions (engage community, work together, solve problems, identify barriers, [do] research).
Hey Patrick, I help businesses retain customers through carefully curated design surveys that analyze data for customer feedback. As we know, happy customers will do more business.

Hey Patrick I was so impressed with your pitch but I used the same to crack a roleplay in an interview but they rejected me.
So how can you help me ?
This pitch works for me but might not for everyone. Try to tweak something at a time and see what works, what doesn't.
I was appointed chief marketing officer of a new tech company....the company deals with e-commerce,food, tuition with the use of an app called yimpus and transportation.... please I need a good elevator pitch cos am a newbie
can I have more explanation about "WHY"? I don't really understand about WHY THIS, and WHY YOU in my context. well, let's say I'm offering a service, I want them to join me because it would make them easier to handle a new order from a company and I can solve the workflow problems between them. then where is the answer of WHY THIS, and WHY YOU at? please help me to understand. Thanks for your kindly sharing anyway! I'm still watching your videos to understand more and improve my self more.
Thanks for the question. To give a deeper explanation of WHY, think about why they need to solve these "work flow problems". How much time and money is this costing them. What's the cost of doing nothing. Do they really need this type of solution or is it just a nice to have?
WHY YOU: what makes you better than your competition. If they were to buy a solution to solve their problem, why should they buy it from you instead of anyone else? Do you have a better solution or better customer experience?
Hope that helps clarify things.
@@patrickdang I see. thanks for deeper explanation!! Glad to know your insights!!

Alicia, I understand exactly what you are saying. I once was there right where you are or were. I found that when thinking about even the smallest things I have accomplished or completed over the course of my life gave me a base line as to where my strengths are. I don't care if you determine that you are consistent at taking out the trash, there is a reason for that consistency. Ask yourself what it is about taking out the trash consistently that drives you.
