Great reaction! And yes, she is a diva with none of the problems of a diva. Her cover of 'Misty' from the Begin Again Concerts is something completely different, far more stripped down, showing her pure voice in a jazz standard. For more fireworks, the song 'Everyone' (in Korean and English) is a masterclass in singing. There are many more So Hyang performances to choose from as time goes by.

I have been familiar with this magical voice for about a month; I don't remember the last time I cried, it was a few years ago, but Sohyang did something that made me cry many times in this one month; What did you do to me, Sohyang? do you want to destroy me? Now I understand Richard's mood when he cries. Dear Richard, this performance has another video that was filmed from different angles and shows us more details about the singer's performance and body language; I wish you would analyze that video.

Gentlemen, You just reacted to my personal favorite, so I will gush unapologetically. The other fans will say 'OK, here he goes again', but anyway: You have seen her before, so what did you expect? She does her own arrangements. Watching Sohyang IS a unique form of beautiful agony. She reaches out and utterly captivates you until she lets you go. A studio recording is great, but she MUST be seen and watched carefully. She is also a talented actress (The Sound of Music) who tells the story with every song. If you take your eyes away, you WILL miss something amazing.
She takes on a sassy stage presence for this Classic song - when she tugged up that slinky blue gown and slid across the stage like a sultry Blues Singer in a 1940s movie, I melted into my chair. In this intimate gift from Sohyang, she is at times; cute, glamorous, beautiful, playful, intense, dramatic, friendly, happy, serious, connected, and energetic. All of that, while in absolute control over her voice, the musical arrangement, the stage, and the audience. It is beginning to dawn on you that there IS no one like our lady Sohyang. Welcome. You guys absolutely need to hear her cover of the song "Everyone". It's an old Korean pop/gospel song from the 60s. It's got a mixture of English and Korean lyrics.
She has said in interviews that that performance was the most difficult one she's ever had, and that's for very good reasons. The song is long and technically difficult. But also, the song really resonates with her on an emotional level.
It's an absolutely incredible performance.

You must react to Everyone but it MUST have ENG SUBs! Don't even think about doing it without. There is a Vimeo version and at least one other. This is about 7 minutes of masterpiece. Even So Hyang agrees that this was her most difficult performance. I don't think she ever sang it again, and I don't think she should. This performance is enough to stand as a monument to excellence and is more than enough to last for eternity.

Back in 2021 she did a busking tour in Korea with talented performers half her age. She did a number of toned down performances two of the songs where I Will Always Love You and Misty trim down instruments guitar and keyboard. The tour was called Begin Again Korea hear a different side of the Great So hyang

Believe or not she was 46yrs on Friday the 5th of April, this magnificent woman is ageing backwards, ARIRANG ALONE is the other song you tried to name which for me was one of the greatest live performances i have ever seen or heard, on par with the late Great FREDDY MERCURY 🇬🇧👌🔥❤️.

Her full name is "김소향 (Kim, So-hyang)", but she leaves out her surname in her stage name, "소향 (Sohyang)". Here's the breakdown of the Hangul symbols in her full name:
김소향 (Kim, So-hyang)
김 = ㄱ ㅣ ㅁ (k i m)
소 = ㅅ ㅗ (s o)
향 = ㅎ ㅑ ㅇ (h ya ng)
Google Translate in Detect Language mode pronounces them decently. However, the proper pronunciation of her stage name can be heard before the start of her Immortal Songs 2 performance of "Bridge Over Troubled Water", when the host introduces her as "SOH hee-yahng". The "hee" part is very quick and subtle, almost like a puff of air after the "h" sound carried over from the stressed "SOH" syllable. Note that the "ahng" sound uses the first and last phonemes (syllable components) of "awe" and "song", respectively; it isn't "uhng" or "ohng" as too many non-Korean folks claim.
