I always loved Queen ….But then I met Forestella . Ruined me forever …I prefer their versions of all their Queen covers. They just did THE SHOW MUST GO ON as a temporary trio because the bass singer left for his mandatory military service til May 2025. Very much a LIVE Performance at their encore concert January 2020 after their successful 2019 Mystique concert tour . Mystique is their 2nd album released in 2019. Forestella does the full quadrant singing live ..,whereas Queen never did..they had to use a video …left the stage and returned led by Brian May. Forestella paying beautiful homage throughout to Freddie’s work, but definitely making this their version with the arrangements etc. I looooove this !!!!Thanks so much for reacting!!!! ❤❤❤

I've been a lifelong Queen fan and had the privilege of hearing them live in 1979. Bohemian Rhapsody is the Song of All Songs, and Forestella's version is even better than the original, if I may say so myself. It goes without saying that I'm a big fan of Forestella and I couldn't wait for your reaction to this, as well as their other performances. I'm one of those people who keep pushing you...😉

I've been a fan of Queen since BEFORE they were famous, and I'm saying, THIS is what Freddie had in his head. He was a genius who CREATED this, but Forestella's ability to fully embrace the Operatic aspect Freddie intended, enhances it. Also, as a mum, when Cho Mingyu sang "Mama just killed a man" hit me really hard, as it sounded like a little boy telling his mum, which made it even more emotional. Of course Queen never sang the middle section live. They played the Operatic section in video form, before returning with Brian playing guitar. Forestella let me see a different way to view Freddie's masterpiece. He would have loved it.

The original was so cool sounding but Forestella's cover brought me to tears. I finally understood the emotionally excruciating pain Freddie was trying to tell the world. I cried so hard. This is by far my favorite version!
I think it is a valid statement to say that Forestella version suits your taste better than the original because Freddie rarely or even never to sing the operatic part live before. But Forestella always did the operatic part live in their concert!
So I recomend you guys to react to their rendetion of Je Suis Malade, Time in a Bottle, and Inner Universe.
The original singer of Je Suis Malade, Sir Serge Lama, French, even compliment Forestella for their beautiful and sad version of the song!
I believe that Freddie himself would have loved this cover. He had an appreciation of operatic vocals. I love it too but Freddie and Queen still have the number 1 place in my heart.

To me, this version is the best cover song ever. I highly recommend their "Time in a Bottle" as well. You'll encounter another amazing cover and dynamic rearrangement. And if you're interested in another great Korean singer, I strongly suggest listening to Sohyang's "Bridge over Troubled Water." Every one would confidently declare her an artist vocal coaches simply cannot miss! She is definitely world class top tier singer : )

This is also my favorite Bohemian Rhapsody cover! Really appreciate your analysis! I highly recommend checking out Forestella's performance of the French "Je Suis Malade" next (which has been famously covered by Lara Fabian)- it really showcases each member's voice individually. I think if you use a screen filter, you should be good to go
Yes this performance is live and no studio production unlike what people know and hear from Queen's version so kudos are well deserved.

You guys are great and you shouldn't feel bad for saying you like this version better. It is no insult to Queen. I am a fan of Queen, but when I heard this version a while back, it touched me differently. They really did a magnificent job with it. Forestella is amazing! The one you call "the rock voice" sings solo under the name of PITTA. You should check out his version of Phantom of the Opera. He sings both parts.

I am crazy about Forestella. You are only at the beginning of the journey with these 4 super talents. Pitta is an amazing rock artist who writes many of his songs. He composed Forestella’s Snow Globe. These guys are all amazing individually and work hard to always bring the best performance. Enjoy the ride!

Their arrangements are always stellar, Je Suis Malade is stunningly beautiful, if you are unfamiliar with Lara Fabian’s version, it would be a good idea to listen to her first because she has raised the bar So High, I haven’t heard an adult professional singer touch that song since, but again their arrangement and conveyance of the emotions, not that Lara’s isn’t incredibly emotional, just incredible. Thanks Richard and Johnny, yes the symphonic feel is what gets me, more interesting musically, especially for those who Love harmonies. My take on the meaning is:you have the beginning explaining I Killed a Man, then it transitions to a trial, similar to Gilbert and Sullivans Trial By Jury, then back to the individual talking about how they feel. It’s quite an intricate song and if I hadn’t sung Trial By Jury, I wouldn’t have that as a reference. This was fantastic ❤.

This cover was way back in 2018 while Bad Romance was 2022 version both delivered on live stage on a competition called Immortal Songs 2. Bohemian Rhapsody is the first rock song presented. Forestella declared their intention to go into rock opera to fellow musicians during the 2021 Phantom Singers All Star where they sung Inner Universe. This song is an OST of the movie Ghost in the Shell. Please check this out for this will provide a background of the creative expression in Bad Romance. Welcome to the Forestella Universe😊

Since you apparently love symphonic/rock, progressive, creativity, first-class level, peak harmonies and Queen... you should definitely also react to FORESTELLA'S ORIGINAL "SNOW-GLOBE". Another MASTERPEACE and a MUST. By the way, a composition by Kang Hyung Ho aka PITTA Forestellas Rock-Voice and "Countertenor". Not only an outstanding vocalist but also a first-class singer/songwriter. (Vocalization of Snow-Globe and Utopia are also under his direction). You'll be surprised and delighted again.
Oh, and another one if they haven't seen it is Deep Purple's "Child in Time".... from late 1960s. Musicians at their peak, creating a masterpiece, that always leaves today's young in awe.

Unfortunately it seems that the vast majority of 'Scarborough Fair' reactions are getting blocked now, it's a shame really. But if I could recommend some other performances where they show a slightly different side of themselves, Kang Hyungho (the rock guy) mastered both female and male parts of "Phantom Of The Opera" admirably on his own (MBN 201219). Then there is also his latest *solo* release (under the name of 'PITTA') from last month; "Wave on the sea." Probably his heaviest rock song yet!! Thank you for all the reactions! ♥

This is my treat for completing my to-do list today. I was just wondering yesterday if you would both be reacting to Forestella again anytime soon. And here this comes like a gift. 😁 During the reaction I was crying and laughing at the same time: tearing up at the beauty of the arrangement and laughing at your reactions. If I remember only one concert at the end of my life it will be Forestella's, which I was privileged to attend with my parents. THIS was the song that introduced us to them.

The name Forestella is a combination of "forest" and "stella", which means "star" in Italian, Fans called Soopbyeol - deriving from "soop" and "byeol" , which mean "forest" and "star" in Korean. I have yet to hear a cover which is not only as good as it is quite often better than original. (after nearly 6 years of following them) OST and original songs also fabulous. Hope you can react to more songs asap regards Michele, Perth, W Australia.

This is an incredible “cover” , here’s my bold statement, I actually prefer it to the original, the operatic part is live, the emotion of the lyrics is really portrayed, it’s more of a story, it’s difficult to explain exactly why this hits differently, but it definitely does. So excited! Glad to see you back with Forestella. Dimash with The Super Vocal Boys is a medley, and it’s awesome, but being a medley there’s only a snippet of several songs.

It's actually kind of nice that you put the video on transparent. That way I could focus on the notes, the blends, the tonality, the hold, and the overall musicality of this song. I think watching the dramatic video would have distracted me. This is an amazing cover. And I agree with both of you that it's a real toss-up as to which is the best. I don't think there is a best. I think there is the original which is classic and has its own flavor. And then there's this which will become a classic because it has its own flavor. And I want to continue to listen to both versions throughout my life. Now I can go and watch the video having focused on the vocals with you two. Thank you.

Have you seen the Dimash Queen Medley? I don't see it on your reactions, but maybe I missed it. Definitely different than Forestella, but in usual Dimash fashion, some of his notes are so powerful even though he blends so well with the other musicians.

When performing, the members normally stand (there are some exceptions) from left to right, Ko Woorim (a trained operatic bass), Kang Hyung Ho aka Pitta (tenor, countertenor), Cho Mingyo ( a trained operatic tenor and group leader), and Bae Doohoon (a musical actor, baritone/ tenor). In this song the order of singing in the end was Ko Woorim, Bae Doohoon, Kang Hyang Ho (aka Pitta) and last Cho Mingyo.
Please listen to them performing the song, Champions (which is a mash-up between the UEFA Champions LeagueLeague and the song Champions sung by Sumi Jo.)
You can also listen to some of their individual performances. Kang Hyung Ho aka Pitta has done Phantom of the Opera and Too much love will kill you, Bae Doohoon has performed Defying Gravity and Despacito alone. Ko Woorim has performed the Christmas Song and one of my favourites a song called A Million Roses. It was a song used in an ost . Cho Mingyo sang The Hills Are Alive and Speechless.

I actually think Freddie would have loved this. He used stacked vocals to achieve the grand sound in the original but these guys are able to achieve this just singing live. I also love that they changed things to make it their own but it is still undeniably “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

They are a Crossover group, who refuse to be confined to a particular genre and sing in several languages.

Nadine, there just needs a little correction to say that HyungHo is not an amateur rock singer anymore…he is also a rock-singer now ❤He was an amateur /part-time Rock-singer before Forestella and in 2020 subsequently launched his solo identity with the resurrected PITTA name of the old band that started in University. He is signed under Arts and Artists as a solo artist. So he has 2 music careers since 2020…And another thing is that although he might not have had FORMAL music training, he self-trained over the years, he learned what he needed to know vocally, technically, instrument-wise, reading music, and even other genres, because of his passion for music, because of his actual experience for years as a part-time frontman and guitarist for bands, entering competitions, etc.
Nadine, Hyungho is not an amateur rocker. He is a full blown professional rocker PITTA who composes, writes, sings, arranges, produces and plays guitar. He has produced albums and singles as PITTA and held numerous PITTA concerts. He had no classical training, but had been a rocker since college, winninng several competitions. He has also composed Forestella's 'Snow Globe.' I don't know why you would keep limiting him to 'amateur' status when he has been an excellent, versatle singer-songwriter for years now. Search PITTA's 'Survival' and 'Survival Encore' concerts on youtube.
fun fact! only two of them have an operatic background! Bae Doohoon (baritone to the right) is a musical actor and Kang Hyungho (counter tenor middle left) has no training!

Tienen muchísimas canciones, en todos los géneros, en muchos idiomas. Según los que saben de música, son los reyes de las armonías. A cada cover que interpretan le hacen arreglos que lo transforman en una pieza musical única. Además han grabado muchas canciones originales.
Hay muchos videos que los muestra conversando entre ellos. Son súper divertidos y se llevan muy bien entre ellos.
Y lo que siempre destaco es que los 4, a pesar de desbordar de talento, son muy humildes y encantadores.
