    The sooner people grasp the idea that something can be sexy without being sexual, the sooner we can see this become more mainstream and respected.
    Edit: okay SO 👏🏻
    I guess what I should have said is that something can be sexy without being lewd/vulgar/offensive. My main point is that this shit is IMPRESSIVE and people who poopoo it just because it’s sexy are being nincompoops

      You can’t be sexy without being sexual.
      The word sexual means pertaining to sex. The word sexy is an adjective that basically means pleasingly sexual...
      For instance two fat people having sex are engaged in a sexual act, but most people wouldn’t call it sexy because they wouldn’t consider it pleasing.
      So you can be sexual but not sexy. But you can’t be sexy without being sexual.

      Why is she wearing a bathing suit and not a leotard (like a gymnast)? Bodybuilders wear bikinis so the judges can have a clearer view of the athlete's muscle definition. So I was wondering if it was the same reason with pole dancers, or if it had more to do with clothing making it harder to grip the pole.

In this routine there’s some movements around the stage, but her strength was on the poles. Her off-pole work made her look not flexible. Her pole work was great, very fluid, but pole “dancing” I see more of as a sport category, kinda like rhythmic gymnastics. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if it was added to the olympics one day.

      And tell us how you know she's a stripper and "poke" dancer? I didn't see any mention of that either "art form" in the video's information...
      BTW, what's a "poke" dancer?
      And why wouldn't I be in awe of what she's trained her body to do? Is there something degrading and debasing about being a stripper? Please tell us what that might be.

    Tbh probably one of the strongest people out there. Mentally _and_ physically. You’ve gotta commit 100% and trust that your body is going to do what you tell it to when you’re literally standing on a pole, perpendicular to the ground and entrusting your life to your hands and feet. Ashley Fox deserves an Olympic gold medal for the strength and courage and perseverance even half this routine would take.

    Lots of people think pole dancing is stripping, but pole dancing can be so beautiful and elegant, even more prettier than dancing on the ground

    • @HangryKitsune
      @HangryKitsune Před 5 lety +19

      Exactly. It has a very big community of acrobats and all kinds of dance elements you could think of. "Stripping" or exotic dancing is rather just a small part. Modern Dance, Ballet, Hip Hop, Breack Dance are also very common styles.
      It's kinda funny how many people comment here on the video like it's something extraordinary, but it exists as art and sport since years exactly like in this video. (is this video trending or was it mentioned somewhere?) Pole dance / pole acrobatic videos like this exist since years in all kinds of styles, professional levels and beginners. And with all kinds of dancers since this community is far more accepting than most of the commenters under this video. This community is not just very feministic we also welcome all genders, sexualitis, bodyshapes, skincolors etc. I love that about this sport.

      Stripping while pole dancing doesn't make it any less beautiful and elegant. The audience watching might respond differently, but the dancing is still lovely.

      Strayfox, you make an excellent point about this and I wish the art and elegance of this would catch people’s attention more often. It’s 2019 and still there’s a stigma attached to this and many more things. I’ll be honest, I’m not one of those people who hears pole dancing and automatically assumes the person is taking their clothes off and making money but I am ignorant about the different aspects of it. Just watching this video you can see that this woman is crazy talented and that she works hard, probably day in and day out. It’s a shame they don’t get more recognition..

    • @Gloomyraindrop
      @Gloomyraindrop Před 4 lety +3

      @@viciousleash7645 I highly disagree. Stripping while pole dancing are literally just meant to make men hard, only feminists think it's compatible to ballet or something that's actually lovely to look at. It's not elegant or beautiful 😂 THIS IS, but not the stripping part. Maybe if you're getting off to it, sure.
