- Russian President Vladimir Putin has welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and toured him around his Novo-Ogaryovo home outside Moscow ahead of official talks in the Kremlin on Tuesday.
Putin greeted Modi as his "dear friend" and said he was "very happy" to see him, according to Russian state media reported.
This is Modi's first foreign visit after he won a rare third term in office in this summer's elections.
The BBC’s India Business Correspondent Arunoday Mukharji explains why trade will be top of the agenda during the summit.

Finally, a world leader with common sense! This war is NATO aggression with it's continuous expansion and not Russian aggression as the media is portraying. Putin had a reasonable demand that Ukraine doesn’t join NATO as that would mean a definite Russia-NATO war over Crimea. It is very similar to the Cuban missile crises when USA had put similar demands.
