    Danish was a bit of a revelation. With the job, his boss Lorraine, his eye patch and general demeanor you think hes going to be a right prick.
    When the reality is hes only a bit of a prick, cos how could you not be in his line of work. He actually turns out to be a generally decent and courageous individual. Nobody made him walk in there after Dot.

    I keep hearing that Danish did something stupid here, but it's actually the opposite. He just underestimated Roy's stupidity - in the end, Danish's disappearance on the Tillman farm also led to the police being charged, among other things. Danish is used to playing smart, institutional games - Roy's response is "BOOM"

      Danish had every reason to believe he held all the cards. In a rational conversation he would've been right to dismiss Roy's threat as posturing, unfortunately the moment he walked into the compound he entered redneck bizarro world. He underestimated Roy's willingness to completely self destruct over Dot.

    Roy was right, in a sense. Danish wasn't smart enough: a smart man wouldn't be in the same room with an animal. He mistook Roy for a man and assumed his rationality.

      Dont think him having a gun would help, he was probably searched before entering the property anyway. He did hesitate to go, but in a previous episode a cop told him she is kidnapped and he needs to hurry if he wants to save her. He took a risk to try to save her, didnt pay off though, but courageous attempt nonetheless.

Next time you feel like describing something as "pretentious", why don't you instead try actually engaging with it? Don't assume that it's trying to trick you, or prove that it's more clever than you. Just actually listen to what is being said

      Season 3 is underrated and always has been imo. Rewatched it recently and granted it is more of a slow burn than any other season, and much more psychological but after episode 4 it really picks up. Plus Varga is one of the greatest villains of all time, up there with Malvo, Gus Fring, and Anton Chigurh in my opinion. I actually liked this newest season quite a bit too, more than I expected

      I mean he did. If he hadn't arrived Roy would have killed Dot.

    • @LanceVanceDance84
      @LanceVanceDance84 Před 5 měsíci +2

      @@ItheauthorityI Not to mention his presence there was later discovered by Indira and Lorraine due to his cell phone pinging the nearest tower. If that hadn't happened, they wouldn't know with any certainty where he or Dot were located (his arrival likely prevented Roy from killing her, as he seemed ready to do so). And the whole reason Danish goes there without ever telling Lorraine is because he felt bad for having Dot (who was also his own client) unjustly committed and felt that he owed it to her to try and help (which ties into the season's themes regarding debt). Unfortunately, he went in there with the naive assumption that money and power can solve any problem; he completely underestimated just how rigid Roy is in his beliefs and how quick he is to resort to violence, and it cost him his life.

      Seemed like a cast with a lot of potential, but it never really came together, followed by a predictable bloodbath. The Jon Hamm character was trying to embody too many bad guys at once - corrupt cop, MAGA firebrand, polygamist cult leader. Pick a lane, please. Nor was there a backstory to explain how being an abused spouse could make Juno Temple into 90 lbs of Jason Bourne. And what’s up with stealing the assassin’s speech pattern from Jaqen H'ghar (Faceless Man from Game of Thrones)? Great movie, solid first season, now living off the brand.
