I'd like to do this, it's just a really big task because i have to tweak all of those settings before i can make the video. I may break these videos in to a 2/3 part series in future. 1 for performance, one for deep dive into what all the settings do.
@@HecticRun That would be nice as well, but honestly I would prefer a video that summarizes everything with FPS and quality to make it easy for us to know which settings to choose :)

@@HecticRun I wish you could show the fps difference between settings too.
I wish i could as well, but it's too difficult because a lot of this stuff is just in the open world and the FPS info is not possible to accurately capture. I could show it, but sometimes you lower the settings and the FPS gets wrose, and people would be questioning the data... and rightly so.
Whoever is looking at the video now... The ultra texture quality has been fixed and has high resolution textures (which should be slightly lower still compared to extreme but way better then high).

This is what I call a job well done. It is very hard to compare the settings since the most critical ones require restarting the game. I have an OneXPlayer with integrated Intel Iris XE card and I can run this game surprisingly well at higher settings. Comparing the differences like this is extremely helpful. Keep up the good work and your channel should have a brilliant future!

Thanks Rafael! Yes the restarting between settings changes makes a slightly tedious task extremely tedious! The most frustrating thing is getting accuracy, the time between restarts is annoying but doing those restarts and coming back to a completely different looking scene due to clouds going over the sun etc.... zzzzzzzzz
great job indeed. Helpful AND he explained with good examples how things worked. Ive watched a bunch of these vids over time and I still dont know or remember stuff. but after this vid ill never forget what shades do.

hey rafeal, I have an intel i7 1165g7 paired with an intel iris xe integrated gpu with 8gb ram, would u know how much fps id get roughly in fh5?
@@krxs15 I can lock 30fps on high settings. It runs very smoothly and looks gorgeous!
Is it able to handle the native 1600p screen at low settings?
For the effects, when you're driving at night and break, and or have headlights on, it makes a lense glare appear horizontally, and it looks really good.

Very cool. I was looking for general settings explanations for games (I don't even own Forza), but it seems like most videos only briefly explain without showing examples.

Very well made video. I can't imagine how much work and tedium went into comparing each of the different settings with how much you had to restart for some of them. That doesn't even include compiling all of the recordings, editing the video and adding commentary to go into detail with each setting. I'll definitely use this as a reference when I eventually pick up the game somewhere down the line.

Thank you so much for the effort in making this video. it is extremely helpful, to know what each setting actually does as developers never properly explain (in any game) what a setting does in the game world. thanks to this video people can make an informed decision on changing the setting to what suits their needs and hardware, specially for lower-end computers, as there you often have to weigh off the value of quality vs. performance, and using this video, you can choose what to turn off or keep at a lower setting to save precious system resources without sacrificing too much quality. so again, thanks a lot for puttin gthis together and keep up the good work!

I agree, it's nice to know what the settings actually do when you change them. I think it makes it much easier to tune your game. More fps is always nice but sometimes i'm happy to sacrifice a few for some nice effects.

The RTX reflections only apply to things from the car being reflected on its surfaces. The reflection of the mirror would for example show up on the side of the car when looking at it from an angle.
Thanks for the info, I looked into this one a little bit more and you are spot on correct. RTX effects aren't really coded heavily in this game. I think it's fine without it to be honest, the performance hit is just too much and the game looks amazing without it.
@@HecticRun There's already a mod to bring RTX into the game world car, but it only applies to your own car, and again it only applies to reflections off the car itself. For example, you'd see the spoiler reflected in the trunk lid, but no RTX reflections of the sky, only screen space.
Thanks for the guide, I'm going to try to lower some of these settings from the highest to one below and see if I can hit a target 144 fps without noticing anything being lost, of course with the exception being environmental texture. I'm pretty sure you're correct about ultra being for the advertised quality on the Series X. I play on both, and while the XSX looks great, the detail on a high-end PC is off the charts.

Hey mate, that must have taken ages to make. I’m 50 years old but I’ve not used windows before and I bought this gaming computer. I don’t know what the hell certain things do and am I stressing my vram. Well done on a really top vid that really looks under the hood. You have just saved my ass. But even when I had the wrong settings it still looked better than anything I had ever seen. I had bought World Rally Car 10 before this. I had not played it in four months because I discovered this. I went back to play WRC 10 and everything looked like minecraft. Cheers mate.

Glad they fixed the Ultra Setting now. Also, I noticed the small plants change lod levels depending on your settings. on Ultra and Extreme you will get the main model 3d plant but on lower settings it will always just be a billboard.
