      Masi just destroyed the integrity of F1 as a sport. He manipulated the race by breaking the rules twice and handed the title to Max. Shambolic farce at the end of the 2021 season! Glad he was fired- but Hamilton is the rightful 8 time world champion right now. Max is an illegitimate winner. It's such a disgrace, the rules need to ALWAYS be followed- and the race director decided NOT to.

Even with the safety drama and faster tyres on the last lap, He still had just 1 lap in an inferior car and NO DRS to pass Lewis. He still did it. A 7 time champ couln't hold him back? And not to mention he was shunted out of two races in a row by Merc drivers when he would have easily won both. SO yea. Max took the win and the title in an inferior car against all odds. KARMA ;)

      But I think that Hungary 2009 had a pretty decent (edit: not "decent" but "hard" or "harsh"; wrong word) effect on his performance.
      It was a pity to see him struggling.

    Everyone is saying the 2021 finale was more dramatic, but it felt a little orchestrated. The 2008 ending was natural and even confusing the first time I watched it. 2021 was great and exciting, but as someone who watched both live, 2021 doesn't hold a candle to 2008

      Massi's indecision is what made the ending bad. Had he decided early on to let the lapped cars unlap themselves or no unlapping at all, it would have been a lot less controversial.
      Would Hamilton have won without the unlapping? I think he would have, but we don't know for sure as Max had fresh tires

      @@cricofando-3954 Yeah. But who knows Lewis might even lost it with new tyres too. Whatever the gap Lewis had became irrelevant when the safety car came. Something needs to be done about that!!!
      All the hard work of about 54 laps went to waste.

To think about all those amazing laps with "old" hard tyres and hamilton being able to hold on and giving us amazing laps and then all going to waste makes you think about the rule of SC and how it ruins the time gap the leader sets especially when it's more than 11 seconds! .

      @@chamindujanith6337 that's what a safety car always does...it bunches the field! It has been that way ever since I started watching F1. But, here obviously, the procedure was only partially followed to allow one lap of racing.
