“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
Went to my first local the other day and I kinda gain a new admiration for Pro players. It’s different being in that room lol Missed 4-5 oki and wall confirms and ended up giving up a comeback to get knocked out of losers round 2 😭 Fumbling happens to the worst and best of us. Salute to you Phi and keep grinding 🫡
When people say it’s different in the brackets and the big stage, IT’S DIFFERENT. People need to give it a shot honestly if they’re getting into the FGC, it’s an entirely different and exhilarating experience.
I think especially what you said at the end is pretty actionable advice - during a match or inbetween rounds I feel it's hard to get into the details, so doing a sort of "rough" or very basic analysis might be more helpful. Something along the lines of What am I dying to? > Stop mashing/stop dashing/etc... & What is working? > Keep doing that.
This my first time actually taking tekken seriously and you easily my favorite tekken video maker. When learning something new I need the explanations extremely detailed and you do just that, keep it up friend
i feel like fumbling is okay, but the way you talk about having confidents and playing stings really helped you, keep on the grind mate! Its inpsiring 😊
A main character Lili advice would be that in situations like 14:45 after the hopkick hit the springkick (hitting/floating with uf3) you can usually always pick up with a dickjab
I literally went into my first tournament at Dreamhack as a Kishin, did but I will definitely said I got better because of your videos dude. Great content and analysis as well.
5:32 tell me if i’m wrong but i would assume having expectations for yourself will always turn out worse than if you had zero expectations love the videos
That's true for the most part. But I think it's more complicated. Psychologically speaking, putting too much pressure on yourself to perform well will cause stress and anxiety that may distract you and cause you to perform worse. Having no expectations could work, but if you become too relaxed, you run the risk of underperforming because you aren't focusing. A little bit of adrenaline can be a good thing. High performing athletes, like Olympians, often talk about being in the "zone." Finding the right amount of focus where you are locked in and actively playing but not overthinking or becoming too stressed is difficult.
Damn straight. There are a lot more losses going in wanting to win. When it fumbles. You panic and when the panik but your opponent punishes you. You lose face. But go in with the, "Let me download this player mindset." You find more success even when I lose, there's a, "Oh damn, that was final?" Instead of a, "That damned step hopkick!!!" You realise the talent or skill of the player instead of, "He uses Feng! Of course!"
In T8, there’s only 3 slide characters. All of them have a +on block knockdown mid. Lee: Wr 3,4 Law: Wr 3 Shaheen: Wr 2 For anybody struggling with the Shaheen matchup: Each can be sidestepped, Shaheen doesn’t have any plus on block moves that the other slide characters don’t have. They all have a safe df2 as well, Shaheen’s however, can beat some highs (just like Lee). In general, anytime Shaheen goes into SNK on block, you can interrupt with a down jab if your opponent is committing to pressing buttons in SNK on block. For the most part, you’ll be fighting against the player rather than the character when it comes to Shaheen - a Shaheen main
@@PhiDX yeah f4, and df3 are really good homing options that Shaheen has access to, f4 suffers from range issues. With Lili, if you notice that your opponent is using these moves a lot, you can play at range 2-3 and use cartwheel as an approach tool. This will also help deal with any Shaheen who likes to crouch dash at this range. This comes with its own risks as an adept player will pick up on this and attempt to float you or sidestep. Lili can be very strong in this matchup when utilizing her long range tools against Shaheen. Hope this helps. Edit: realized I’m replying to PhiDx. My advice still stands but I’m sure you’ll have your own tools for this matchup
@@amirhossein1817 no, this is false. Crouch dash will realign a slide to a sidestepping opponent, but you can sidestep a slide. Characters like Yoshi and Jack with bad sidestep hitboxes may need to sidewalk
Its crazy how watching your videos inspire me to learn more and get better at tekken. The high level is so beautiful to watch, its a shame that to get to this competitive level it might take me years of grind, since Tekken 7/8 are my first fighting games.
Phidx: because in the previous round, he already got baited by that move, I knew in beforehand how he'd react, so I had an answer for that ready. Me: I use that move because it's pretty.
“Close the distance back dash then button is what got me killed” Opened my brain up. I do this all the time and wonder why I lose because I gave too much respect
If anyone managed to get video of that loser’s bracket match with Ao I’d love to see it sometime. Curious as to what happened there. Congrats for making it so far! Man this game is so hype
Crazy how the meta evolves and reverts at different levels. Lower play, mashing can be difficult to deal with. Higher play, mashing is punished, so pausing is critical. Really high play, hesitation can be punished, but don't always mash.
How do i stop using heat advantages every time i get into heat, with lili i always use her mixup or any move that transitions into ff3+4 at the wall for plus frames and chip, thats all i do in heat and ik its bad so how do i stop
Not sure if other viewers would like this but perhaps a chapter where we see your match without the analysis would be cool, giving the viewers the option to deeper dive into your analysis if they wish to.
Why don't you use 3+4 in the long range? When you have a rival using a lot of movement trying to stay at the edge of the screen, you can use 3+4. If they try to correct their position and press buttons they will pay the price.
You overthink is part of your problem. You’re trying to process too much information at once, and not just “feeling” the match. By that I mean processing the info passively. Id give myself anxiety the way you do it. Everyone is a bit diff though.
23:02 you didn't get lucky here, you just didn't finish the bt3,4 string last time in the previous round and he remembered. Your mix was just too nasty.
Phi, Speedkicks has already coached you about dash blocking, and you are still doing it - FYI. You get punished for having defensive skills in Tekken 8.
What I learned today is that hesitation is defeat

SEKIROO
Fitting lesson to learn from Juan the WOLF
He who hesitates is lost.
A wise man once said "You're only minus if you a b*tch" 🤣
" I threw a Matterhorn cause I was horrified." Lol
True Lili main right there XD
some would say "hesitation is defeat"

Competitive skill comes from learning to deal with that extra layer of distraction, and the only way to practice is by doing it a lot

Very cool analysis. I like listening to how you are looking at both the match and your opponent as it progresses. Great Stuff!
As a newbie your vids help a lot and provide so much insight, I really like hearing your thought process during fights, thanks man

Don’t choke leads to choking as your saying “do not do this action” but simultaneously focusing on that action instead try “stay calm” type shit
A main character Lili advice would be that in situations like 14:45 after the hopkick hit the springkick (hitting/floating with uf3) you can usually always pick up with a dickjab
Omfg that's actually huge for me thank you

Slides track tho, don't they? Side stepping doesn't really option select anything. You need a hard read on their running move

It depends on the speed of the player sliding. A slow side input will realign yes. A buffered slide/ perfect input slide probably whiffs
I loved watching this from a Shaheen main point of view tbh. I learnt a lot on Lili's weaknesses too there
Hope you go far man! let's fucking go!
No clutch? Guess he can't drive a manual
Orrrr you could have a dual clutch 🧠
Thanks for mentioning Spoiling Comments ❤
We like to see you confident!
Maybe Phidx needs to watch more phidx videos to play better

I'll leave an emoji because I got nothing to say and it helps PhiDX, but thank you for the vid as always
🗿
Fight like it's the beginning of the round at all times
Phidx: because in the previous round, he already got baited by that move, I knew in beforehand how he'd react, so I had an answer for that ready.
Me: I use that move because it's pretty.

Hesitation will really come back to haunt you in this game
Nice breakdown
"Basic Matchup Info" section is amazing.
You won our hearts ❤

Choked on this sandwich being here so early
Very beautiful set
lili don't have those 2 hit launcher with which you can whiff punish launch at mid range.

Yes! It's insane lmfaooo
Whos petting doggo in the back vv cute

Can you also analyze your match against the Hwoarang player?
YUUUUURRRR
🎉🎉
man how do i make my notes look like urs its so easy to read and so easy to keep track of along with not straining on the eyes
depends on the task; but i recommend "notepad3" by rizonesoft as a replacement for basic windows notepad. just tweak a few settings.
You still win in my eyes
What i learned in boating shcool is _______
Usually you mix up db2,1 with db2,snk,df1,2 or 3 if they are ducking which can only be countered by d1. If that is any help to anyone.
🎉
thought tht was klay thompson in the thumbnail

Have tried that in the past, unfortunately doesn't perform well. But that's why I include the original match in the description!
It's been happening a lot to me lately 😂💔
❤
please review lowhigh vs chanel grand finals
Are you still doing coaching ?😊
Maybe it's tournament nerves, but judging by the gameplay of that Shaheen. He's Fujin level max
You'd be right

Let’s be real, Lili is just a bad tournament character bc Lili mains can’t use their infinite array of custom outfits
This is the way
😂😂😂😂😂😂

woah im mad early
Imagine sticking to one character... 🤐
Early squad

30 minutes of PhiDX boasting how good he is because he can win by just hitting buttons 😉
23:02 you didn't get lucky here, you just didn't finish the bt3,4 string last time in the previous round and he remembered. Your mix was just too nasty.
First! Love the vids
Do people even like playing Lili? Or is it just the frame data?
Tekken players have girlfriends? 😮
Ignoring the actual content of the video. the single most tilting thing as a Lili player is the slides hitting 3+4 and df 3+4 out of the air.
That's is ridiculous
Wait first? Lets go! Hi Phidx!
Phi, Speedkicks has already coached you about dash blocking, and you are still doing it - FYI. You get punished for having defensive skills in Tekken 8.
Yeah news flash the game is hard even if you know what to do LOL
