    That's how it was at Leeds, went there towards end of the season late 70's with United, all there boys were wearing Three Starred jumpers and Donkey jackets. We played them early on the following season and the fashion had drifted over the Pennines and they were "casuals"!

    • @Darwinion
      @Darwinion Před 5 lety +1

      Yeah... can clearly see Alan Devonshire. So it must be a mixture of footage from different games. A fan gets off a bus and holds up a Leeds programme with yellow cover... that is clearly NOT the semi final replay programme.

    • @steakandsidJustLeeds
      @steakandsidJustLeeds  Před 5 lety

      The original footage of this was taken from the BFI archive web site and says it's a film from 1979 between Leeds and Ipswich showing police crowd control methods.. the second video clip ( Part 2 ) clearly shows Leeds fans getting off the P2 Football Special Bus...2 or 3 Leeds United Supporters Club - Kippax Branch members are clearly seen..one of them is actually my Brother ....another one even waving a match da Leeds United programme.. at the back of the South Stand I'm pretty sure there's a couple of.. what was at the time early service crew.. definitely a couple in there who looked familiar from back then .. I'm wondering now if the footage is a mix of the two games.

    • @Darwinion
      @Darwinion Před 5 lety +4

      I just watched it again... it's definiitely semi final replay footage. The number of Everton fans in scarves etc. on Elland Road just wouldn't happen in a game against Leeds. And as the West Ham coach arrives a Hammers fan with scarf is applauding their arrival. You can spot a few hammers fans in claret/blue caps not as prominent as Everton fans. I went to this replay as a kid as I had a season ticket in the Lowfields seats. Part 2 is Leeds home stuff for sure. I just LOVE this archive stuff!!!

    Its definitely 1980 from 2.55. its Everton v West Ham FAcup semi final reply lots of younger fans with wedge or short hair ,straight jeans and trainers ,jumpers ,etc no scarves ,the west ham younger fans looked like extras from a madness video ,or were scruffy older fans ,with longer hair . Im in the video ,wearing a white fred perry ,brown jumper straight,lois jeans and bamba adidas trainers, Everton greatly outnumbered the west ham, we had to walk from morley station ,west ham from the city centre . just alittle skirmish before the match ,an everton fan got battered by himself were the west ham were ,and west ham at full time got on the pitch .and ran towards the kop ,the police kept the everton fans behind the fence ,who were going mental ,if the fences had not been there then their would of been a huge punch up on the pitch .I was fuming and gutted the same time .arsenal beat Liverpool in a replay ,and west ham won the fa Cup .
