    You guys are awesome
I have a gradually increasing sciatica issue on the left leg since two years. A couple of months ago i started watching your videos. Since then i have been feeling rather stupid for not paying attention to mobillity whatsoever.
Your exercises make me feel a lot better and these podcasts give me a realistic perspective on the duration of recovery.
It is soo valuable to have this knowledge. It makes the pain much more bearable and it is the absolute antidote to panic and despair.
Lots of love from the Netherlands

Perfect timing, just buggered up my shoulder. right Strap on my rings broke while I was inverted, I hung on too long and my left shoulder took all the impact. I should have let go as I was swinging down and landed on my feet. Instead I flopped through the swing and been doing your shoulder recovery. I can now put my arms overhead without sharp pain. This one will take some time. Doctor says don't do Rings at 64 years old. I say learn from mistakes and replace straps more often than every 3 years. Keep the Wiggle going!

Excellent discussion! Thank you for being so genuine and sharing this with us. Like you guys, I’ve had to persist and work through back and shoulder issues, refusing to accept that I had no options. This year, after over 10 years dealing with frozen shoulder and impingement etc., I have finally been able to get to the other side of the pain and to begin strengthening everything. It’s been a long and very slow process. But with the encouragement from some very helpful people like yourselves, I’ve finally gotten enough good information to now be moving forward. I’d like to encourage people not to give up hope, but continue the fight. It can be done.

Amazing!! Yeah it can be so tough, but the alternative was to give up & get weak - just didn't seem like a good option!!

I've had the same experience and thoughts. Everyone cares about progress and performance the most (me included). We don't care how but we just want the good stuff until we crash and burn because we haven't been paying attention.
And now that I'm a certain age I've been thinking more about old age and about how many of these old folks with hip problems for example have probably gone through the same process of never realizing there was a problem until they became old and the problem became major the same way a lifter might not completely realize there is a problem until the body can't compensate/take it anymore. And that's when we start looking for a solution, which is only natural.
I'm glad you guys are teaching people how to move better and overcome the problems that really matter and have to be addressed before they become an even bigger issue, or straight up prevent you from doing anything because oh training just hurts, I know people with that experience. Without a healthy and well balanced foundation it is only natural to encounter problems down the road, but no one sees that when starting out because of lack of experience and vision and because it's hardly ever taught even by those with a lot of experience for one reason or another.
I've started doing a bunch of the exercises you teach to try and fix my issues and it's lovely stuff, I'm specially liking the shoulder rotations around the head with the dumbbell, much better than doing my dysfunctional OHP, and that's the point.

Great podcast! My back sounds almost like a carbon copy of yours Tom L4/5 and L5S1 disc protrusion with nerve compression, started in 2020 over time it improved but had a very bad flare up 2 and half months ago, which i am still dealing with every day, the mental side of things is so so difficult as you mentioned in the podcast you almost feel like things will never get better again, especially after going through it all a few times already, its a dark path to go down but slolwy slowly im determined it will improve again.
    Keep up the amazing work

I've had the occasional back issue then my first ever sciatica, wasn't a fan of that so I started doing a few simple stretches each night before bed. I'm now very consistent with my stretching and also do a gentle Yoga Class once a week and I feel these things are keeping me on top of my back . Shame the recovery exercises for my Bicep tendons don't seem to help, thats what I need to work on and get out of this looooong flare up which I possibly blame on taking Atorvastatin (Statins). Loads of exercises I enjoy I can no longer do as the knackered arms won't take it.

Hi guys, I love your channel and have been incorporating the mobility drills to my routine and feeling a lot less stiff. Also been trying some core & hip strength moves because the physio mentioned I’m hypermobile. I have a question around pain, how do you know when a pain during a movement is good or bad? My left knee would get a sharp pain at a certain angle, should I keep practising isometric hold at that position? I also have a right lower back injury from skipping a step going down the stairs a year ago, internal rotation causes an ache since (eg standing with my right foot infront with hip squared, or standing and putting all my weight on my left foot). Again, should I take it as a sign I should spend more time in these positions? I hope my questions make sense, I’ve been trying to fix both problems for so long now and no chiro/osteo/physio have helped.

    • @TomMorrison
      @TomMorrison  Před 4 měsíci

a general rule of thumb is: sharp, sudden & intense pains mean you should back off a little. Aches, discomfort or niggle pains are generally "okay" to work with. You want to find that edge between challenging & too much (which is different for everyone!) to work at, which you can only really discover by playing around and having a wiggle! Always err on the side of too easy and build up over time!

I know I've talked to you before about my back with my l5-s1. I got this far. I spent too many years avoiding the pain, being scared, saying I can't do this can't do this. Last year I started working on it and I'll be honest, I forgot how to correctly/normally bend over to pick something off the floor. I forgot how to get down and back off the floor like normal. I had to watch my boyfriend do it multiple times to remember the movement and I was so ashamed and embarrassed that I didn't even tell him I was doing it. There are days I bend over the bathroom sink and my back just can't hold me so I have to do a lunge into vanity, etc. The people around me have unknowingly enabled me by always helping that now I have to actually tell them no, don't help me bc I have to bend over, I have to get down on the floor and back, etc.

It’s scary for me bro I’ve been working a as a Pysche ward nurse restraining ppl and stuff. And it’s disheartening when I have setbacks after my initial recovery, since I studied my butt off to get my nursing license. And now this problem is set out to end my prospects. I get depressed soemtimes. Like I was set to work this nursing profession for like my whole life. I also honestly ask myself. Which woman even if I was to become a passport bro, would stand putting up with my pain and stuff. I had a gf before and it’s hard not to complain all the time 😂. I also can enjoy life experiences more when I have less pain. But growing up is realizing that even if you have this horrible pain that we fight daily…. We still have to enjoy and do the things we set to do in life. As their is beauty beyond our flesh
