    use your elbow,
    finish with fingers,2 fingers at the ball at the last
    bent elbow,elbow is the aiming device,elbow on the goal 37:00
    protect the ball(like you do while dribbling with your legs),
    always look to the rim,
    move upper body first(feet will follow),
    land before rim,not behind the rim
    36:30 just take the ball as soon as it dribble from ground
    we're trying to have an open shot(thats the philosophy)
    force the defense to come to me
    every shot is unique(youve to only make that shot in your life 38:40),put is as soft as you can,the ball is your friend
    41:00 imp,keep the ball as long as you can 43:00,46:20
    every extra dribble gives defence a good chance

    Near the end he says to land on your heels when coming to a jump stop, for greater stability, but I am pretty sure that is a good way to get your joints (either knees or ankles) injured. Shouldnt you be landing on your forefoot, especially as you grow older and the impact forces get greater?

    • @Entei1482
      @Entei1482 Před 5 lety +2

      EU guys don't jump that high so it doesn't matter for them. NBA athletes definitely get up so they must land on the forefoot with a few extra steps to get rid of that force.

      Only if you don't have good supporting muscles around your joints. With your knees bent as you land you should be utilizing your muscles to support your joints, when you are running it is terrible for your joints because typically your leg is straight and your muscles are not engaged Edit: so your joints take the full force of your weight.

      @fixedfocusfilm3068 Před 9 lety +3

      Sounds to me like he meant to say "flat-footed", which includes the heels, but I think things get lost in translation. A jump stop on one's toes (or the balls of the feet) isn't as stable, and balance is crucial to shooting. That seems to be the gist.

    • @fixedfocusfilm3068

    • @bghallak
      @bghallak Před 9 lety +1

      +Antreas Kontos when you grab a reboud you land on the front foot, avoiding hurts, but when you prepare a jump shot, the small jump before, you land on the heel to gain stability and control. Each sport, each situation, a different solution.

    • @andreaskontos78
      @andreaskontos78 Před 9 lety +2

      When you hop to prepare a jumpshot especially from long distance you do not use your heels at all. It is faster and more stable in my opinion. The heel to toe landing can sometimes be used when you want to stop your movement drastically, but if you the heel lands away fom your body vertical line it is e very dangerous situation for the joints.
