There's something about the pure information from this channel that I can just sit here and listen to hours long series.
Agreed
Same same
Absolutely! I this is the part of the hobby I enjoy, the history and engineering of firearms. Especially how problems are solved! He is a wealth of information!!!
Agreed I can watch his videos all day they are not only educational and full of information and facts he also is patient and eloquent. Thank you for all you do Sir
Most under rated firearms channel on CZcams.
FACT
Hello, Mr. Bartocci! Just for some additional information, an Estonian service member recently posted in-field pictures and details of the new service rifles on Reddit, and also answered many questions.
His particular rifle was equipped with a Vortex SparcAR series red dot instead of the usual holosun, and when asked about it stated that Estonia has had higher than expected failures with the holosun optics, and so the vortex units were purchased as an interim solution.
According to him and his CO’s, The current plans are to supplement the existing remaining functional holosun and SparcAR units with CompM4 optics already in service and to acquire more on an as needed basis.
It appears that holosun may have dropped the ball and failed to deliver a true military grade sight compared to the tried and true Aimpoint and EOTech.
Thanks for another great video.
I started working there at the end of the Estonia contract in the barrel department.
Yay! I love LMT content. Especially from SAS Channel.
Estonian Reference 12" is 🔥🔥🔥
Love my LMT RAHE I did the clone correct Holosun optics on it. I need that Estonian AR10 in my life. My wife is from Estonia.
Thanks for the video, Chris. I love LMT rifles and I'm blessed to have all three of these Estonian rifles including the GSL Multical suppressor. I haven't shot the 7.62 rifle as of yet, but the two 5.56 versions shoot great both with or without the suppressor. I need to work on getting the correct optics now.
Forward assist…. Carried an AR platform for a lot of years, used it several times. Only in desert and the arctic, trench clearing in a sandy environment was another time. It’s not a useless feature in extreme environments it actually does a necessary function.
Used them all over the globe. Lots of firing demonstrations. Never once used the forward assist. There were no failures in encountered nor the troops i worked with that the forward assist would have rectified.
MAN LMT rifles are perfection, thanks Chris
Elbonian military also adopted these.
These work.
@@ElTejon47901 that must be why theyre not issued, only adopted.
@@FirstLast-ff7qx lol
@@FirstLast-ff7qx Got any proof they aren't? Seems like every unit in Estonia that got their hands on these ditched the galils without a second thought lmao

imagine if POF had won the contract 💀
Bro pof hater here
POF low quality?
I'm glad that they didn't.
@@Montblanc1986 POF had a great reputation and was one of the top brands in the 2010s then a few years ago their founder died and also around the same time they came out with a couple new models and to my knowledge there was a lot of issues with 1 of them and also some with the other model but to my knowledge everyone still likes the Renegade and P-415 which were designed by the founder and are what gained them their positive reputation but negative always outweighs positive and while I have had some negative experiences with their customer service I haven’t been able to find anyone that talks negatively about the whole of POF in general and can by it up by saying anything more than those 2 models that have issues but who knows I could be wrong. POF does a lot of unique stuff like the roller cam pin, E Squared chamber (fluted chamber), basically their entire BCG is unique, full ambi controls but like more ambi than anything else including the trigger well bolt catch, and many other things that make POF seem like the best value considering you don’t get a lot of the features they have even on $3k ARs and POF Renegades are sub $2k so they’re pretty underrated at least on paper and from everything I’ve been able to find. I just got my Renegade though so we’ll see how it goes since I haven’t even shot it yet but so far my only complaints are how they integrated the trigger well bolt catch to interact with the actual bolt catch by making the normal bolt catch have a extra lip on it so that you have to use it specifically if you want the TWBC to function when they could’ve just changed the design slightly to make the TWBC work with any normal left side mil spec BC. My other 2 issues is the small Pic Rail section on the Mlok handguard is not at the same height as the mlok bolt on pic rail sections so it makes mounting a pain and also the proprietary heat sink barrel nut seems great however again they could’ve designed it to work with any handguard and any barrel nut wrench but they chose not to and there’s no real reason for it not to as far as I can tell
POF is fine but they have nothing on the magic of Mr Karl Lewis. 🎯🎯🎯

If colt wasn't that insistent on you want what I have. They would have fewer bankruptcies if none at all.
My wife’s boyfriend has this in 308 lucky bastard.
Ouch
😮
He has more than just this rifle in 308. He has your wife's 3 holes as well. Sorry, to break it to you.
A gentleman and a scholar. For the Algo, thank you for creating this. going to buy your book so you can continue to make this content.
7-8 years ago, I visited the Estonian Defense College to photograph their Galil variants for my book series. They had an eclectic mix of Gifted Swedish G3s, American M-16A1s, M14s as well as Chinese Type 56 stamped/56-2s, Galil SAR/AR/ARMs in 5.56, and the Galil Sniper in 7.62x51. They had almost no Soviet era items. It was explained to me that when the Russians left, they took all the guns, and only a handful were left for prison guards.
I’m willing to bet the 14.3” barrel length is due to a metric measurement specification that was converted to inches.
That works out to 363.2207264414529 mm so I wouldn’t bet any money lol
@@stephen_crumley Maybe they round up.
It could have been as simple as them wanting as shorter barrel as possible but still able to achieve an accuracy and terminal effects standard out to a particular range.....or that they fit better in the back of a Rav4, the best selling car in Estonia for the last 5yrs.
Maybe overall length with the suppressor?
As man who is married to an Estonian girl I can tell you that just gotta be different. If it's normal and common forget about it. LOL
Those are some nice-looking pieces. I especially like the DMR.
Thank you for pronouncing Galil correctly too! 😁
I wish I could have a classic Galil ARM. One of my favorites.

“In matters of taste.” Don’t forget that part. Most customers have no idea what they are talking about nor are they anywhere being right.

You have a very good channel. Thanks.
Thank you. 👍👍
Great job! Love the info!
Love my Rahe, never had an issue with it. Very reliable and accurate.
Sometimes I use SAS for nighttime ASMR for sleeping.
I wonder if it was one of these that was in use in a reservist competition last year in Estonia. It was some sort of AR and was new.
Another nice one Chris. Have you happen to have seen the MLOK to M1913 adaptor they use on the RAHE to mount the M-203? With our rifles (NZ) coming with the standard quad rails and stand alone mounts its easy to move the M-203's around the section or fire team. It would be interesting to know how the Estonians manage their M-203s fleet i.e. a dedicated R20 with the rail adaptor or if attaching the adaptor is an operator or armourer level task.
They use standard removable rail segments. Your Mil-STD-1913 is i believe to be superior. They never come loose. Im still mixed feelings on mounting a launcher to Raul segments rather than directly to the handguard.
@@SmallArmsSolutions I agree, I've seen the rail sections on our DMW's/MWS work their way loose just with the likes of lasers and bipods with constant field use, the M-203 would dump a fair bit more energy through the mounting system . When our MARS-L's are eventually due for a mid life upgrade I think maintaining the full top and bottom rails and MLOK for the other sides would be the best option for a service rifle, and maybe even short rails at the 3 and 9 on the front end of the handguard for the likes of illuminators and lasers.
Is it true that it’s easier to swap out the barrels with a quad rail as opposed to a m-lok rail?
I remember a long time ago Chris explaining why it's an internal piston when referring to what many others refer to as a direct impingement. But I forget the what's and whys and have no idea what video that was in but I would love to hear it explained again.
Good work.
Sounds great
Great video! I want an LMT next for my collection. I think it's proving itself on the world stage. The easy barrel swap kinda negates needing a CHF barrel such as on the HK416. Hopefully it will get traction as the 416 has with more capable militaries.
It is so damned refreshing to hear propper information " delayed impingement internal piston" instead of pandering to the crowd with familiar but wrong terms like " direct impingement" . Direct impingment means the gas hits a flat surface or slightly recessed cup that smacks the carrier like a short stroke piston would. The ar-15 bolt carrier group is a piston and a pressure chamber must fill and compress to start it's motion. The so called " fixed piston " mini14 is closer to being a direct impingment gun than an ar platform.
I choose to use technically correct terms, not improper ones use as common knowledge. This is a very simple thing if you understand the actual mechanics of firearms. I have tried to trace back where the term direct impingement for this system came from. It was not the Army and it was not Stoner. Somewhere along the line som genius made up a term to differentiate from the long stroke piston AK. But military manuals still revert to as gas operated rotating bolt.
Great work Chris, you are killing it lately!!
New Zealand and Estonia have the best standard issue ARs there are.. how about that lol
Had to skimp on the optics to make that happen lol.
Crazy never heard of Estonia or New Zealand winning wars. Crazy.

@@user-mj1vb8jr6jcan‘t fault em for that. Even with Holosuns they’re still light years ahead of the Ruzzians lol.

Platform fluidity, is WHY, I went with the AR Platform! 👏🏽 👍🏼☺
Except for the 7.62 version, I also have all three uses covered! 👏🏽 👍🏼☺
I’d like to get my hands on some imported Galils
Great overview Chris! But I find it odd they went with 12” instead of a 10.3 or even a 11.5 at most.
12 is so close to 14.3 there’s not enough difference to make a difference.
They give a reason?
Hello, huge fan of your channel and your work, it's helped me understand the AR platform WAYYYY better and helped me avoid a lot of mistakes. And some of the stuff you talk about with these LMT rifles made me wanna ask you what your thoughts are on proper lubrication of AR's. I see some people who swear on Oil only, like CLP, and some who swear on grease only, like Slip 2000 EWG, and everything in between, not even including all the debates about which ones to use lol
So is there a place for grease in the maintenance of AR style rifles besides the obvious parts where you should use it for assembly? I'm talking about in things like the buffer spring, the bolt carrier rails, charging handle, or even the Bolt itself? Or am I better off just sticking to good old Break Free CLP on all the major wear components inside the rifle, and then some grease on things like the pins between receivers, trigger mechanism, etc? Like, I would like to believe all the hype about the longevity and endurance of fully synthetic grease in the AR, like Slip2k EWG or something like Lucas 0#-2#, and it would be awesome if I can just slather a light/medium layer of grease all over my bolt and on the contact points of my carrier with the upper, but I just don't know if that's really the best practice vs frequent reapplication of BreakFree CLP.
I figure that if anyone is gonna know about the best way to keep an AR running well, then you are the one who is gonna know, since you had access to all of the history of Colt's testing when they were refining the weapon over decades.
My armorer manual goes over lubrication. I use G96 CLP solely. You dont use grease on an AR15. You don’t want to use some thin oil.
@@SmallArmsSolutions Will do! Thank you, Sir!
Interesting to me that the attachment method for the M203 is a 1913 MLOK rail that it clamps to. Instead of some sort of interface with less components.
Really shows how robust the MLOK system is.
LMT, the new Diemaco?
LMT 😊
Want!
I like that Adjustable gas block
The more I keep looking up LMT, the more I'm liking LMT.
Question?
Does LMT have the best BOLT CARRIER GROUP, OR BOLT LUGS?
Their enhanced bolt I think is the best in the industry. Their carrier, designed for a specific set up.
@@SmallArmsSolutions IDEA for a different video; Do a stress test on all bolts on the commercial market.
That looks like an a5 receive extension
What buffer weight would u recommend for the specwar and their 300blk? I'm running both on factory Mars lowers but neither run correctly! The specwar cycles but ejection pattern is weak.....while the 300blk , in sub or supers, barely ejects and never reloads. I'm shooting 190gr
Hornady subsonic and 62gr 556. Thanks!!!
I would recommend the standard carbine buffer with three steel weights. If the rifle is still not cycling, get with LMT, My guess is the wrong gas port diameter. If you run a 5.56mm gas port in a blackout, you would have short stroking.
In your estimation, what would you say is the best piston system regardless of cost, and best bang for your buck piston system?
There are several external piston deigns which are comparable. Some such as LMT, Caracal, HK and Sig have established combat records. Others such as PWS and LWRCI have excellent system but not fielded or not in great numbers to establish a record. I think if you stay in the top tier manufacturers you should be just fine.
The difference in DI and external piston for total gas coming out of the action is at most 10% less comes out of external. It's not a huge reduction, and the vast majority of gas coming out of AR is not from the gas system.
External piston also produces less carbon on and around the BCG and the upper also runs cooler. Not to mention the gas tube on a DI rifle is a failure point with mag dumps.
@@Andrew_NJ If your gas tube is a failure point in your mag dump, your barrel is going to explode. An M27 IAR, for instance, has just about the same barrel profile as a SOCOM profile M4 barrel, without 203 cuts, with two extra inches of barrel.
So, all it would get out of not having a gas tube is that it would explode after 1,200 rounds fired without a break instead of the gas tube melting after 1,000.
@@superfamilyallosauridae6505 That is not true go watch IraqVet8888's AR burn downs. AR external piston one's barrels do not explode.
@Andrew_NJ If I remember correctly, he used a bunch of lower pressure steel case that no military really ever uses in 5.56. Brass would behave significantly differently because the powder load in that steel case 5.56 is a little weird in that it's more initially violent but less pressure overall.
There's nothing about either gas system that changes when the VA explodes. Gov profile barrels exploded earlier than SOCOM. M27 is an enhanced enthickened SOCOM profile. Regardless, for this to be a problem, you'd need to put the entire squad's ammo through just three rifles. Or the entire platoon's ammo through one squad. Any situation that could happen in would be bizarre to not have more of the rifles sharing the burden and to make that happen you really have to try intentionally to break the gun.
Curious who makes those rail panels. Would love to get some
Manta

LMT my favorite and imo, best of the best, I got 3 like in this video. whats your recommended scope for the 16' .308, currently using a 3.5x LED ACOG.
I dont mind the weight, but do you think dimpling the barrels is worth it on these, and what are your thoughts on the 13.5 p/w as opposed to the 16'.
Also in 556, if you could just pick one barrel length in this system what would it be? I have had 16,14.5,12.5,11.5,10.5.
is your 300 blackout a LMT? Rattler system from SIG 1:5 twist 5.5/6.75/9' barrels or LMT 10.5'/16' and the smaller chodewars.
There will be future videos looking at the 13.5-in .308 Win bbl
I do prefer the 16-in like the New Zealand Army did
My 300 LMT is the 10.5-in bbl with 1/7
Who are the troops issued the 308 rifles? Colt refused to advance.
Hey Chris question, is the recoil impulse greater on the LMT 308 external piston guns than the internal piston given the internal ones are combat gassed?
I don know , yet! There will be a review on that rifle in the future
There is a post floating around social media. It is sometimes hard to tell if it is fake or not. An "armor infantryman for the Coast Guard"(yeah seems fake) said the forward assist made AR-15s automatic. He could have been lying for the purpose of scaring people. Or just being funny, because it was in fact hilarious.

While it may be needed, is there any actual downside having the forward assist?
Weight and cost
You stated all 3 use the same lower receiver. How? The .308 and 5.56 cartilages require different mags.
They all use the MARS lower. There is a L and H versions. But all are the Modular Ambidextrous Rifle System lower
@@SmallArmsSolutions Okay, that makes sense. Thank you.
how's the trigger? milspec of more like a Geissle ??
More like the Geisselle. It is a 2-stage match trigger
How do PWS Piston ar’s hold up next to a LMT Piston ar?
PWS is not military grade. I have never seen a military procure this weapon. I have used both but far more experience with LMT. All i can say is the LMT has proven itself in military testing and has been adopted by a military. PWS has just been in the commercial market. I would be interested to see how PWS would fair in a Military Trial.
@@SmallArmsSolutions as a SHTF level rifle would you say PWS meets that bench mark or not so? As far as DI AR’s go, would you say BCM fits a SHTF worthy rifle as well?
I’m still not a LMT fan reason is they never have any thing in stock?
They have military contracts to fill. Every manufacturers who has military contracts must fulfill the contracts in accordance to the delivery schedule. LMT does do commercial runs when they can. When there are lulls in military contracts, they produce for commercial and LE. It’s different from a company who just does commercial contracts.
My dream/holy grail AR!!!
Any idea if that piston 7.62 version is going to be available to the public?
It is. Just very limited numbers. It’s on their webpage. I hope to be doing a video on it over the next few months
@@SmallArmsSolutions Much thanks. Look forward to it.
love it
What is an external piston system?
Piston on the gas block. Internal is piston inside the bolt carrier
Psychological, perhaps. But, still a lot faster than actuating a charging handle; especially one covered up by a scope. Mistakes happen under stress, and that split-second FA use saved Kyle Rittenhouse. If we're being honest, that 7.62 LMT is so heavy in comparison to others that they just excluded the FA for weight savings. Edited for spelling. I upgraded to a 2 port regulator and upgraded the trigger on my Estonian. Plus, it was upgraded to the better B5 Enhanced (LMT SOPMOD is a bit of a ripoff, although I have 1).
Actually no. Stoner designed all his guns without from his original AR10 to the AR15. Then when he designed the SR25, he omitted it for the same reasons he was against it on his previous. KAC and LMT maintain the Stoner design.
@@SmallArmsSolutionsIt's still heavy, and I'm not really talking design. Rather, my eyes didn’t lie to me when KR had that stoppage, where ONLY did he have the time to clear the issue with a FA. A second or less more needed, and he would be dead. As i said, mistakes happen under stress, and the FA is a simpler and quicker soltion. Even your favorite Kiwi rifle has one. If even just for post press checks peace of mind, FA are worth it. I NEVER have FA related/induced malfunctions. Respectfully, this discussion is.
They did induce malfunctions. People are trying to slam a bolt forward inducting a much more serious malfunction. Press checks are ridiculous in themselves. After all these years of using this platform, now we dont trust the rifle will chamber a round when hitting the bolt catch? Yet when in combat or any situation where you are under stress, you load the rifle without a press check! If you have any training at all, or experience, you will hear and feel that there is a round being loaded when the bolt is released. It makes a very destructive sound and feel. Rittenhouse is your poster boy for the forward assist. Something works under one condition but over all is far more of a risk than a benefit. Just like a broken clock, it even is correct twice a day.
@@SmallArmsSolutions SAS, can you produce an example of where the FA induced a malfunction in combat and got someone killed?
Estonia has a military?
Yes, and so would you if you lived next door to a psychopath neighbor.
Remember Estonia shares a national anthem with Finland..
Population of that country is only 1 million people, so not much of one but at least they spend over 2% of GDP on defense unlike much of NATO until recently
Is that rifle like our LMT NZ 16 ?
It uses a different operating system and MLok rails
Is that a Harris bipod?
Yes it is
@@SmallArmsSolutions Those things look like they'll be around forever. A solid design.
Love lmt but that’s a years salary of guns there lol
LMT piston vs Caracal 816?
Damn. Thats a tuff one. If you want one rifle that is not convertible, the Caracal would be just as reliable at half the cost. But if you want all the modular and enhanced capabilities of ambi features and user level barrel swaps, LMT is the way to go. You would not go wrong with either.
@@SmallArmsSolutions thanks for that. Do you know if the 816 is compatible with sig 516 aftermarket handguards?
@@adam3651I can step in on this one and say it is not. They lock up in very different ways.
How did these feel compared to a pws?
The PWS to me, feel to be softer recoiling. The LMT is set up for a larger gas port to work in heavy adverse conditions. The PWS is a more lightly balance range rifle. The 14.3 does not have an adjustable gas valve but the 12-in does. Not tried that one suppressed.
@@SmallArmsSolutions thanks for the information.
Imo the external piston from LMT is a limited design. It’s like they just slapped some stuff together for contracts mandating external piston and that the operating system is still in the prototype stage.
I would’ve thought that they would’ve improved upon the design by now.
You don’t “Slap” something together to compete in an international weapons trial. the system has to meet NATO standards as well as in this case the Estonian Army standards. Not something you can just throw together to win. How much more refining do you want? It’s a similar and straightforward system. Gas strikes a piston rod that knocks the carrier rearward. Not much you can do. They added gas rings to make it more efficient than many others. If you really look at all the external piston AR’s out there, there really is not much different in their designs. It’s their executions. The way they balance the system to increase accuracy, reliability and increase maximum service life.
@@SmallArmsSolutions I’ve handled the LMT piston rifle and it is one of the most front heavy rifles that I’ve experienced. The 20” M16A4 I carried in Iraq feels like a fraction of the weight. I have the LWRCi piston (6.8) and multiple PWS rifles. IMO the LMT option is crudely designed. I’m not actually a fan of short stroke piston operations so I have a bias there but I’ve owned and operated options from manufacturers that did a much better job at what is a misguided endeavor to begin with.
As for the refinement, how about just getting the thing to point and balance better. The refinement between my Mod 1 and mod 2 PWS is uncanny. Not saying that PWS can outperform LMT in a NATO trial but (regardless of how reputable the individual is or not) I’ve seen a LMT piston break on CZcams. Was this a metallurgy issue? Nevertheless I regard your experience and testimonial to a degree in which there is no comparison to the typical CZcamsr. Suffice it to say I just believe that LMT could have done better.
I respect your honesty and I appreciate that fact that you took the time to respond to my comment. I enjoyed the video as I’ve enjoyed the channel for many years.
The LMT barrel is a heavier contour, not like that govt profile A4. Of course the gas block is heavier, it housed a gas valve and piston. That LMT is better balanced and barrel will outlast that A4 in any conditions. Everyone wants light weight but physics don’t align
@@SmallArmsSolutions I served with Wpns Company so all we did was lug around heavy metal. Fortunately in country we were mounted.
These days apparently everybody pretends or is disillusioned to believe they are special ops. Short barrels or light weight everything.
I certainly agree with Karl Lewis in that LMT is ‘overbuilt’ if you will. At least to my impression they don’t chase making everything as light as possible. They make these purpose built for heavy use - heavy fire which, imo, is appropriate for frontline troops.
Best energy and good vibes your way. Hoping that you enjoy the 4th.
@smallarmssolutions does LMT produce a civilian version of the ED forces 7.62 rifle?
You can build one. All the parts available on their web site.
Now if only they could fix their qc
You've lost a lot of weight.
The anti-forward assist cult is going to get soldiers killed in combat. Plausible scenario, soldier is in a fire-fight in the rain and low on ammunition so he tries to evade but while running trips, drops his rifle in the mud, picks it up and has to shoot it immediately because the enemy is almost on him, he hits one of the two enemies but the other is still coming, then "click", the mud in the upper slowed the BCG enough that it did not seat his last round all the way. What does he do? Oh the anti-forward assist cult say you should rack the charging handle and eject your last round, then go look for it on the ground somewhere, eject your magazine, reload the magazine, reseat the magazine and rack the charging handle again! As opposed to just using the FA, oh wait this soldier cannot do that because the anti-forward assist cult says it is useless and have talked governments into buying service rifles without it. LMFAO.
You never look for or reuse an ejected round
Nice imagination. Shoving a dirty or damaged round in the chamber will induce a serious problem with the case getting lodged in the chamber, putting it out of action. Testing also shows the internal piston works excellent in the mud due to the gases blow the mud out the ejection port.
@@SAR0311 What if it is your last round?
@@SmallArmsSolutions What if the round is not dirty but the BCG is slowed down just enough to not chamber the round?
You wont know that and the chances of that happening are null. You are looking for the most remote chances to make the forward assist viable. That bolt will only slow down if that cartridge is not in spec or if there is a blockage in the chamber. Either way you will not get that bolt to close and if you do, you will have a failure to extract that will put the gun out of action
HOLOSUN 515GM and 515CM ( CM Solar) are very good optics. They are on par with Sig Romeo4T which is used by FBI on their issued Geissele Super Duty Carbines .
Ive been using 515CM for well over 4 years now . I personally favor Circle Dot reticles for shooting fast and paired with 3x MAGNIFIER. Eotech EXPS3-2 or EXPS2-2 Paired with Micro 3x MAGNIFIER is by far the best setup when using 3x MAGNIFIER.
I have not used HOLOSUN 3x MAGNIFIER so i have 0 clue if they are good or not . I personally use Vortex Micro 3x MAGNIFIER and its been nothing but amazing .
HOLOSUN has came a long way and they are paving the way for innovation. Hell Sig copied Romeo4T off of the 515CM . I have 0 clue if its still true but Sig was / is using HOLOSUN diodes for their optics line up .
Eotech EXPS3-2 , and Holosun 515CM on REPTILLA 1.93 mount are my 2 favorite Red Dot / HWS to run .
LMT knocked it out of the park with Estonia Carbines . Im actually suprised they didnt go with Shovelnose MRP system.
Holosun is about all I run on my handguns and most of my ARs are sporting a Holosuns. Price to Optic their hard to beat. IMO some of the much higher priced Optics are only that, much higher price and not worth it. They held up well for me for my use. Combat force may be another story.
@@arlissyoung8899 Their Combat series is made from different materials . Mainly 7075 T6 .
I as well use HOLOSUN MRDS on my Pistols . 507C-X2-ACSS and 507-Comp . I own 5 507s in total . I do have one the Auto Mode stopped working but Manual mode is perfect tly fine . That optic I've had the longest and has well over 40k rounds on top of slide .
507-Comp IMO is probably one of the best OPTICS for shooting Competition. SRO will always be the gold standard but the 507 Comp is 250 cheaper .
Ultimately any reputable optic these days are way better than what they were 10 or 15 years ago . There are quite a few OPTICS that could pass Milspec type testing with flying colors .
There is only handful OPTICS these days actually made in USA and those OPTICS cost a premium
Great overview Chris! But I find it odd they went with 12” instead of a 10.3 or even a 11.5 at most.
12 is so close to 14.3 there’s not enough difference to make a difference.
They give a reason?
12” is the shortest external pistol barrel length that LMT offers, currently. If Estonia eased the requirement for external piston they could have gone shorter.
