@@giovanni-ed7zq precious got traded… can’t keep holding on to past players. I love pascal but we need to keep moving forward and find replacements. Patrick is a better shooter than precious and think he would provide better spacing. We have Jak and Kelly and Scottie and Rj for rebounding now. Patrick is also only 22.
@@rulz2663 i would rather pay precious 15 million a year than patrick williams 30-35 million a year. end of the day patrick williams gets you 10ppg, has a bad fg percentage and is worse defensively, as a rebounder and rim protector than precious. patrick williams is also injury prone.
P Will is a guy that just makes sense. 22 3/D player who is surprisingly similar to a young OG. Same height and similar wingspan but a better free throw shooter. He fits the timeline and could be moved down to the 3 where he's probably better suited anyway, with Scottie being the more positionally versatile player. Just imagine how nasty a lineup up IQ, RJ, PWill, Barnes and maybe Poetl (depending on if he stays or not, could be replaced with some upgrade worthy centers in this free agency class) and have Dick come off the bench as a 6 man. He definitely would complement our core 3.
Plus he knows Scottie, both played at FSU a year apart.

Ya, we didn't get Jalen Johnson because Pascal tanked his trade value, remember that?! I don't mind getting Patrick Williams, but definitely not at anything more than 15 mil. If he was gonna have a Jalen Johnson type of breakout it woulda happened by now.

@@giovanni-ed7zq Achuiwa is gone, we need to look forward. I think the athleticism is debatable, they are both good defenders, similar in size. Patrick Williams is a superior offensive player, especially when you look at 3-point percentage, free throw percentage and he has a superior handle compared to Achuiwa.

@@giovanni-ed7zq Williams cost more because he is better lol! What happens with salary when he hits free agency we can't predict. Williams has a more polished offensive game with a better shooting touch, particularly from three-point range and the free-throw line. Achiuwa, on the other hand, is more limited offensively but is a better finisher around the rim. Williams has a higher ceiling offensively if he becomes more aggressive and improves his playmaking.
Hello Raptors digest I am new to this and I just subscribed as well. I would like to know as a Raptors fan since 1995 I understand that when the trade deadline comes and goes there will be no trades. What I don't understand is when does that lift? I'm still puzzled on that can they make trades as soon as the playoffs start question mark or do they have to wait for the season to be over including the playoffs
Also I would like your opinion on Wiseman being a free agent I believe he was a top five pick and I'm wondering what your opinion is on his ceiling because he is so young and if he could help the Raptors he's only 23 years old. Fit wise a guy like patrick is exactly what we’d need to add to the score as a starter. 2 way switchable floor spacer. He can basically become an OG 2.0 for us. His issue has been health and consistency but id be real excited if we got him. He be a great fit for this core

Depending what they do with Browns option, they could have like 39 million in cap. They could use a chunk of that to sign a free agent then use the birds to exceed cap to sign Quickley. Get the Barnes extension done so the books are squared for 25'(When his first like 40mil year would kick in). If theres a good free agent thats willing to come to come to the Raptors then they probably decline the Brown option. No free agent, maybe they pick up Browns option in hopes to trade him off a bounce back season. I just dont see the Raptors be willing to give Gary the big extension he qualifies for unless they can take advantage of the new extend and trade rules. Maybe Gary takes a much smaller deal they have bird rights with him as well. Itll be interesting to see how close to that first apron that Raptors will be willing to push to get or keep players.

The biggest question I’d have about Patrick Williams is his health. I think a change of scenery might benefit him. Not saying it’s the raptors but a healthy Williams on a new team could have a result similar to RJ.

williams is a horrible defender, and at 25 million a year for 4 years getting 10ppg is a horrible contract. patrick williams is a horrible rebounder and rim protector also.

Having Patrick Williams starting at the 3 on this team while he gets to finally develop properly with this coaching staff would be amazing. He would fit in perfectly, and he definitely will not cost very much in free agency, maybe 10-12 million per year. I need this to happen

OK I Williams might have a little bit more upside but 25 million for possible upside is super taking a flyer on a young guy with upside isn’t $25 million. That’s bringing a guy in on like a two year 8 million or $10 million contract.

Patrick Williams is a bust based on where he was picked so far. The only way to get him is overpay, he turned down the Bulls offer of $64/4 and is looking for $90/4. IMO the Bulls will match any offer.
$25 mil a year is similar to what Quickley will get paid, I don’t know if I would go there and if he’s worth the amount. The most I would give is whatever Gary is making.
