    I went to school with one of the owners of Coga sound, Phillip Jackson. He's from near ATL. He's a great guy! They are sending me some gear to test out from them this week. Great guys, I'd recommend supporting these guys.

      @@SoundSpeeding Light weight, low power consumption, built in wireless recievers, no need for battery distribution or antenna distribution, Zaxnet control - those are the reasons I'm buying one - I hope I don't regret it!

      @@ianedwards348 fair enough! I feel the lack of an App or a good Control Surface, just to name a couple of features, would hold the Nova back for me personally.

      @@SoundSpeeding I agree it's a disadvantage. I believe a control surface is in the pipeline, a keyboard input would be good too!

    Sides are in the way of the hands and it probably weights a lot. The only things that it has going for it is what i contributed to the original design: Zipper side pockets, Kick stand, and what they stole from my own design the antenna connections.

    @jotaudio1 Před 3 lety +2

    It's too bad that they still make the bottom rounded, so the bag wants to fall over if you don't set it down perfectly. It's my only criticism of my junior. The purple looks great.

    • @HubLocationSound
      @HubLocationSound  Před 3 lety

      Yeah I hear ya on that... it's just such a narrow bag (even the Jr. too)

  • @nathanksimpson

    Do you think a mixpre 6ii could hang on the velcro or is there not enough length on the straps?

  • @blaine691
    @blaine691 Před 3 lety +2

    I like the purple bags, but I wish Ktek would come out with a purple waist strap and harness to match. Otherwise, I'm sticking with orange. My plan for my bag is to keep my battery in the front pouch. I use the Audioroot battery with the built in telemetry, so I want that battery life display to be visible. I'm loving the new weather cover. I don't know if this was a common issue with anybody's cover, but the elastic band on mine snapped after a couple uses. The new cover is a much better design. Is the Nova stable in the bag without the winglets or do you still recommend using with winglets? I'm very interested in watching an accessories video. The Zax community in particular has come up with a lot of innovative devices. My fav is probably Dominique's zmt stickmic adaptor

    • @HubLocationSound
      @HubLocationSound  Před 3 lety +1

      In my review video of the prototype of this bag, I didn’t yet have the Winglets and with the 2 provided cradling straps and using the 2 velcro anchor points at the bottom, I was able to get the Nova to sit securely. And Yes! Dom’s zmt stickmic adapter is definitely in the accessories video 👍🏼

    Well done Jim, I’ve never seen an in-line filter on a wireless audio transmitter before in a bag. What’s the make/model of that product?

    • @HubLocationSound
      @HubLocationSound  Před 3 lety

      Thanks, Michael - that’s the Zaxcom FDP2. Lectro makes a passive one too (PF-25)... and BSRF just came out with one that I think is active (FA-1).

    Thanks Jim,
    How are you running the zaxnet antenna? I see there is very little space between the wings and bag edge.

    • @HubLocationSound
      @HubLocationSound  Před 2 lety

      There is room for the antenna to protrude (connectors too). I typically keep mine aiming downward, but if you wanted it up - you can sneak it out of the zippered section (at a slight angle).

    I wonder my maxx would fit in this bag. I don’t see why junior x can fit maxx but not jet-x, since the only difference is the depth.

      Battery in the bottom area was a little too tight. I think it makes the most sense in the outer pocket. Easiest to get to.

    • @HubLocationSound
      @HubLocationSound  Před 3 lety +2

      This logic seems kind of like the people who say "my Recorder cost $300!!! ...why would I spend another $300 on an e-smart battery system!?" 🤔 With that said, Rado, I do love your unwavering 'advocacy' for trimming weight from our industry wherever possible. 👍👍

      I hope you never get to deal with pain when you get older which is pretty much inevitable.

      @@soundmixervegas Just saying... the weight of a bag is irrelevant to the weight of the devices you choose to put in it. You COULD use a 1 gallon ziplock bag with a shoelace, but there’s a trade off regarding weight vs. quality, rigidity/protection, features, professional looking. I’m trying out a prototype now for a bagless Nova rig. I’ll probably do a video on soon.
