Lea Toran Jenner (German/Spanish) and Francis Perreault (Canadian) met each other at the École Nationale de Cirque in Montréal in 2011. In search of new challenges, they decided to work together in one Single Cyr Wheel to create an innovative circus discipline - the Cyr Wheel Duo.
After training together for over 3 years, Duo Unity found their style in combining their strengths with poetic sensibility while creating a romantic atmosphere by mixing grace with danger.
For their Cyr Wheel Act, Lea & Francis have been rewarded with a Bronze Medal at the prestigious Circus Festival Cirque de Demain in Paris, France in 2015 and a Gold Medal & Audience Award at the International Festival of Albacete, Spain 2019.
In search for new challenges the Duo Unity created a new Act in 2019 - an Aerial Duo Chandelier Act.
Duo Unity has worked internationally with different circus and variety shows as well as special events and TV appearances. Their latest long term engagement has been with the prestigious Moulin Rouge in Paris (2017-2018).

Honestly that’s a perfect way to describe it it totally does feel like that
They look like two seeds in the wind coming together till the end and growing and growing and growing till they reach the Stars
Unless you have had a crack at CYR yourself (trust me it's really tough!) you can't even begin to imagine the skill and many hundreds/thousands of hours of practice that has gone into this extraordinary performance. How they don't collide with the wheel, bump into each other and maintain their poise throughout is incredible.
I saw one collision with the wheel, the mans hand, but he grabbed the wheel and just added to its momentum and they kept going.. looked purposeful, but I doubt it was

@@mandolinic That's ridiculous, spin and jump in one direction? Have you ever actually watch a real Figure Skating Event? And yes, it's called Figure Skating, not Ice Skating.
@@greyghost8343 I have watched many many hours of figure skating and ice dancing events. Most skaters spin anticlockwise (as viewed from above) when they jump and spin. A minority, such as Ashley Wagner, rotate clockwise when jumping and spinning. A really tiny minority can spin in either direction.
All this is stuff that anyone who watches skating seriously would know.
This is the only type of relationship I’ll settle for. Only magical or bust 🥰🥰🥰

That was beautiful! I can't imagine how difficult it is to learn to dance with the CYR wheel, but I can certainly appreciate how much work this young couple put into making it look almost "magical" as they used it!

I had wide eyes the entire time and almost cried. THANK YOU!!!!!! I was invested. So glad they didn't get hurt and worked so well together. It felt illegal to watch, like the intimacy of a couple in a bedroom! So graceful and in sync what a truly wonderful performance.
