This is a sword fight clip from the movie Bloodmoon. It's a decent movie with a lot of fun fighting scenes. And Chuck Jeffreys is insanely close to being Eddie Murphy.
The fight is as almost as good as the finale. Staged and filmed really well throughout. All the fights in the movie are great but this one is quite amazing.
Darren Shalavi is amazing! I definitely wanna see more of his skills like this! He don't mess around, when he fights...he fights to win. And that pressure point technique shows it!
This has to be one of the greatest Samurai sword fights I've seen in like forever. Notice the some what realism when they swing the swords. I dunno how much they weigh in real life but I'll know soon enough cause I'm getting a set :)
The sword master is Noboru Kataoka, sensei of the New York City Kendo Club. He did a football commercial with his former student Yoshi Amao, which premiered during the Super Bowl two years ago.
that dude does remind me of Eddie Murphy, his name is Chuck Jeffreys though. I remember staying up late one night & catching this movie that fight scene in particular was pretty cool, i totally dug it when "The Killer" went underhanded/Zatoichi style. cool vid
Umm...this isn't supposed to be realistic. It's a movie. They used things that looked good, and I'm sure they weren't trying to get everything down to a T in every little detail. Sides, him wearing the armor was just his way of keeping his identity a secret until he revealed himself. Relax and just enjoy it sheesh
Chad's not satisfied until the victims are dead, but he likes to punish them badly by just being brutal and vicious. In his eyes, the champion is the one who is still breathing, not the one who is merely knocked out or injured. He has to fight until they're dead or incapacitated...doesn't matter which comes first as long as they're a corpse by the time he's finished.
i wanted to see this movie,i only saw the part where the ninja in the black fight rob van dam(which he was in the movie)and the begining fighting that black guy from the first mortal kombat who got beaten by liu kang and his soul taking by shang tsung
Ok, I know this is a movie and it's not meant to be realistic, but this is just funny. First, he unsheathes his sword at 1:13 (which lasts 4 seconds and considering the speed at which he was drawing it, it should be at least twice as long) with the standard-issue metal-on-metal SFX added. Ok, I can accept that. But when he drops the saya at 1:19, it's so obvious from the sound it makes that it's mostly wood (as a saya is and should be). Epic phone answering at 2:31.
ok a few things 1st it wasn't his head it was his helmet pay attention with that many attacks to the chest there should have been a lot more blood and he should be dead as well (dur) and as for the sowrds being dented it depends on what there made of
on youtube, search Iaido or kenjustu. Iaido is an art more focused on drawing the katana and attacking. Kenjutsu is more technique after the sword is drawn. Go to a bookstore, and in the martial arts section, find books on Japanese swordsmanship, i.e. Kenjustsu, iaido. Also, for more on the philosophy of the art, Miyamoto Musashi's "the book of five rings" Remember though, the key to being good, is to experience battle yourself

That mustache brings great honor to his ancestors.
Your spirit is unclean!
Darren Shalavi is amazing! I definitely wanna see more of his skills like this! He don't mess around, when he fights...he fights to win. And that pressure point technique shows it!

One of the greatest fights of its kind.

"Who are youu?"
"Antonio Banderas!"
Awesome sword fight! Sure, maybe it was fake, but the cheoragraphy was amazing! 5/5 Favorited.

Love is in the air. They undress to each other swinging their swords!
True dat, true dat! We should have more battles like this in modern day fight movies!
ズルい!お前はチャンピオンじゃない。
中国っぽい要素が入ってましたね笑
忍者っぽいところも。日本の真剣勝負とはテイストが違ってミックス感がアメリカらしい。
You know he's the master because of the awesome moustache.
Cool thank you very much
I wish they have this movie on tubi.
that dude does remind me of Eddie Murphy, his name is Chuck Jeffreys though.

cool vid
WOW...!! That was Cool =)
Nice "phonecatch" man !:-)
Do you know of any place where I could watch clips of proper katana usage?
Badass scene.
I think the nigga's trick with the phone is a ninja skill that should own all fighters in the movie
"Who's the champion? MIME!"
I didn't see any mimes in that fight.
Didn't hear them either! #NinjaMimes
Umm...this isn't supposed to be realistic. It's a movie. They used things that looked good, and I'm sure they weren't trying to get everything down to a T in every little detail. i wanted to see this movie,i only saw the part where the ninja in the black fight rob van dam(which he was in the movie)and the begining fighting that black guy from the first mortal kombat who got beaten by liu kang and his soul taking by shang tsung
Damn you making me edit it. My laziness knows no bounds. :(
Ok, i'll change it out of respect.
Cool, i'll check that out ;)
yeah, but thats what makes it fun ;)
WHAT? They cut from the fight to the talking parts? No wonder I never heard of this movie.
for such a low budget looking movie it was a pretty decent sworfight
I have to take your side. I'm a sword enthusiast myself, especially for the Japanese Katana.
That's Eddie Murphy's first cousin Chuck.
He had he his blue head thing cut off, seconds later it was back on, I love continuity errors
I think I had this movie on Vhs one time. Didn't Gary Daniels star in this movie?
..nice
cant believe that wasnt eddie murphy. jaysus
Blue guy came close to losing. I wish the Jedi fights were that good.
is the sensi guy the same guy from the movie The Last Samurai who commited Seppeku?
Holy shit! That was awesome for a cheesy 80's movie!
Kendo gear doesn’t protect you from real sword but it’s an obstacle while you’re practicing sword art. It only has training protection purposes.
Oh dear God he did not just answer the phone with "hey hey hey"
Ok, I know this is a movie and it's not meant to be realistic, but this is just funny.

ok a few things 1st it wasn't his head it was his helmet pay attention with that many attacks to the chest there should have been a lot more blood and he should be dead as well (dur) and as for the sowrds being dented it depends on what there made of
