I absolutely love battlefront 2 remastered, it’s the only game i can play by myself for literal hours. it’s just such an awesome time
Bro same I literally see everyone complaining about it I haven't heard anyone say anything good like I get it multiplayer sucks but single player is still amazing I can play instant action and galactic conquest for days
@@codycry3196 the reason you probably dont hear anyone talking about the good things is because the original versions are better on PC (has all the mods) and Xbox (is already upscaled, forced 60fps and has HDR), the only console that gets a better version is PS5 as the PS2 version sucks so for Xbox and PC users the classic collection is actually worse than the classic versions even for singleplayer

Forgetting the best part about Tatooine Remastered is all the extra spaces and characters added to maps, like the cantina band, various store fronts, and different creatures added throughout the map
Classic collection Coruscant actually looks on par imo. The floor looks shiny and good.
One thing that you forgot to mention is the amount of movie references in some of the maps in the Remaster. Force ghost Qui-Gon in Dagobah, the holochess board on the rebel's cruise, R2 and 3Po on the deathstar, etc... There's a new update coming with new skins also for the remaster, can't wait.
Its the diffrence between a passion project and a blatant cash grap!

The only vote I disagree with is i think the classic collection of kashyyyk should take the win for being more film accurate with the colors and textures

They really should just pay the author of the Remaster mod and implement it in the game (like CDPR did with the author of the HD Reworked Project for The Witcher 3). A lot of work had already been done, textures, models, locations, etc. But I guess they wanted this to be as much cashgrab as possible with minimum budget.

I wish the remastered project wouldn't have removed all of the bright vibrant colors. Also, I really don't like the Storm Trooper color change, it needs to be bright white, other than those two things, the remastered project is easily better than the CC

Removing the red glow in the prisone cell hallway is a negative for the remaster
I think you forget to compar the Yavin 4 map, not the dlc one, but the rebel base.
Is it really fair to do a comparison of a mod that took time and effort to remaster a classic game to a game that just got ported
One had a team of people behind it and released worse than a 20 year old game while one was made by one guy and is great. So yes?
Yes, one is made by a whole company that costs more than the original games, bigger in size, plays and runs worse than the originals, while the mod is made by 1 person, the mod is free and only 5gb
what I always didn't like about endor in bf2 2005 was that it was too dark in the sense that, the trees, the leaves, and the ground/grass color palettes blended a little too close to each other that if I squinted my eyes, details get lost. I found it infuriating to play as the empire when I could barely see the wookies and ewoks especially when I could only the game from our old 90s crt tv. the classic collection seems to address my issues in a sense by brightening the bark of the trees, but now it seems to stick out like a sore thumb. whereas the remastered project has made endor significantly better for me lol
The remaster is definitely better in almost all respects, and the classic collection has been a dumpster fire, but I wonder if doing this comparison really made sense since, as you said, the classic collection isn't a remaster. So it is kind of like asking if a re-release that has been upscaled is better or a remaster.
If you wanted to just spotlight the remaster and promote it as an alternative to the classic collection, making the video "why the remaster is better" would have been more earnest.
On a side-note, this is the first time I've seen footage of the remaster, and there is something uncanny valley about all the character models, their postures, and their proportions.
Battlefront 1&2 should have been made similar to halo MCC. Where basically they remaster the games looks and on the fly you can instantly switch between old and new.
Not to be that guy but I'm not really a fan of overhaul visual mods because they tend to go way overboard with it like oversaturating, contrasty, and shiny textures and colors, very too smooth textures, character models look too funky, cartoony, and shiny making it look like plastic. They're cool and make maps look amazing but it gets rid of the vibes of the map and the feeling of the original game like for example in Kashyyyk. Classic collection does look a bit better than the original but it still keeps that original vibe of the map/game. Still, though, they could have done way better with the Classic Collection graphics.

Coruscant is a planet of city, the night sky would be bright from all the lights, the classic collection version is definitely a more realistic night sky

I wish the remaster mod could handle ultrawide or that I could find another mod that fixed the ui on ultrawide. Otherwise, it's literally unplayable compared to the collection, which is playable but still very broken.

Well it’s a literal fact that community made mods make any game better than what the original developers made.
Even though I've played the remaster for some years now, the space maps never fail to take my breath away. Most likely, because they are far more recent additions. The only possible fault Harrison Fogs mod could have is that the assets look abit plastic/blender like. But this obviously due to it being based off a ps2 game.

Only problem with the remaster is that it's PC only. And I can't play with Mouse and Keyboard(specifically the keyboard) It physically hurts having to twist and stretch my fingers to reach all the buttons, especially when three of them are constantly occupied with WASD on something that can be achieved better by one single thumb stick.

I guess the reason why they didn't actually remaster the graphics is a little apparent when you look at their other remasters of other Star Wars games. They're just in a habit of putting them to new consoles because they know they'll get the money and everybody loves Star Wars games so they don't really need to do anything. Even when they advertise they were going to do something one time with Kotor 2 they ended up not doing it
and yet the modders did it for free.......................

Dont want slaughter the classic collection just for the sake of it but tbh just think of the classic Obi Wan vs Anakin fight. And its really dark with extremely contrasted and saturated bright lava reflections. That actually looks extremely accurate

I certainly liked aspects from EA’s battlefront 2 and the original and would’ve been 100% down if EA had taken the original and remastered it to modern graphics like what happened to Halo 2. BF2 already had a arguably iconic campaign, improved galactic conquest, space battles, etc and if they combined the elements from the class system and specialty units in EA’s version into the remaster, I believe you would have a player base similar to Hell Divers 2. Hell, they could’ve expounded on the cutscenes like Venators traversing hyperspace between missions or you, as a clone trooper, walking up the steps of the Jedi Temple during order 66 to do away with loading screens.
The current BF2 campaign would’ve been more effective as a DLC campaign to entice players to stay and expound on the events after the Battle of Hoth where the original ended.

as a one,s console gamer i still play my pc with controller on all games battlefront 2 had no controller support quick download fixed now i play BF2 steam remaster project with controller support and my god this game has never felt better modern dev,s are absolutely lazy and uncreative
My biggest issue with the collection was me getting booted from servers specifically seeing "booted from session" and not sure why or if that was part of the server issues. Like the map would load up but then I just get immediately booted with the message I quoted and I played on playstation, was that part of the issues everyone else had or was that just me being booted by the host or other players? It happened to me quite a bit...
Next stop, battlefront 3?

Not only can you change your skins, but you can also change a lot of gameplay features with the remaster on the fake console.

It is playable as someone who has 117 hours on the classic collection yes now battle front 1 is a bit weird UT I think it's just like that but personally you should probably play battlefront 2

Do you really think the city planet coruscant would have such a pitch black night sky? Have you never been to a city at night? And that's just one city not to mention the entire planet is covered in massive sky scrapers all lit up. Classic collection definitely wins that one. Darker ≠ better.
I'm playing Battlefront 2 (2017) on PS and i seen so many new players. Y'all think this got to do something with the classic collection release and some guys got hyped up and bought it or was i just lucky.

So they brought back cutscenes to the end of the campaign missions, but not the right ones. Now the intro cutscene plays during the end of a campaign mission. I bought this to play Battlefront 2 on the Switch but unfortunately it’s a horrible version of a great game

Yeah some the checker border thing happens and hoth kinda glitches into like a grabbed mess but the map is still playable and it's honestly pretty fun to play and the hoth glitch happens a couple times

You're comparing a PC version of a game that can be modded to a re-release with upscaled textures, of course the modded version will look better and it's on PC which has technology that can make visuals look better and consoles is limited to its graphics card, not really a fair comparison at all, a more fair comparison would be comparing the original versions of Battlefront 1 and 2 to the classic collection and point out the differences and improvements in the visuals and textures. Plus you have to take into consideration that Pandemic was under a 1 year time constraint to make the game, they didn't have time to add all these extra textures like a mod creator could. It's a re-release not a full remaster or remake.
Classic collection is not a remaster. It was not advertised as such. Classic collection is a re-release of the legacy games with upscaled textures and that's it. Honnesly, the classic collection should not have been released on PC. It does not make sense, neither should have been on Xbox One nor PS4/5.

I know the remaster is good and all but god someone add a way to remove the gattling guns and slug throwers from these games. They are the worst part about Battlefront II regardless of what version I play. I get the remaster is trying to be faithful but I'm wondering if there are mods out there that change those to be regular blaster bolts or add repeater blaster bolts and sounds at least. Either option would be better, even if I can't play it on the remaster project.
