The best way I've kept cables in check is always having dedicated routes that cables "must" go.
I have allowed myself to put cables down: My monitor arms, table legs, along the back edge of the monitor, in a cable basket under the desk, and one path under my phone stand that it set up on the left (as it hides them).
There's latching adhesive cable clips, and I've placed them all along the paths in question, which means I never even have to deal with the hassle of zip ties or similar.
While I used to use velcro cable holders, and zip ties that were "easy" to unlatch, being able to just pop them in and out without unlatching, or unwrapping anything is what has let me be more organized.

I'm glad this guy actually talks about the struggle of things always changing and not having the true perfect setup. Cuz I have tried many times to get the ZERO wires look and it's not realistic even though you see these youtubers show you barely any wires. That's not REAL.

Love your setups my cable management is awful cuz I just push them to the side of the wall
what is the chair you use ive always wanted one like that
I tried several amazon solutions, all failed. I have 4 monitors, 13 things to plug in. My final solution was a cut to size vinyle rain gutter attached to the back of the desk. Cut slots for cords to go thru, and attacked gutter leaf screen to hide what's inside. Perfect.
