- With Sparkle's release, there's been a lot of questions around how much speed to build on her and what the 'optimal speeds' are. In this video, I wanted to go over an analogy that's helpful in understanding how turns and speed work in Star Rail, in the context of cycle limited content like Memory of Chaos and Pure Fiction. Hopefully after watching, you have a better idea of what speeds you can target for Sparkle, as well as why.

This is by far the best explanation of the speed thing I've seen. The coach analogy, the Asta buff, action forward vs speed buffs; I sort of had a vague idea how they worked but this makes it so clear and obvious.

Glad that more people can share this side of team building to the community. With the knowledge about how the math work, the team building will be much more easy for people to understand. One simple example is running slow dps (easier to build and can get more attack since you don't need speed boot) + asta since she give speed on ult plus 4 piece hacker it will help bump up your dps and on the other hand running too much speed across your team puts you in diminishing return and therefore not worth the build difficulty increase. I pre-farmed Sparkle for my QQ team and the only thing that was missing was 160.1 speed that was hyped from every corner of reddit discussions. I think I'm good for now with 156 speed and 200 CD and can prioritize maxing out my Quantum set for QQ.

I've watched many guides, not because i'm still learning the game, i just like it, and i love seeing so many creators spin on all these things.
This is extremely well done, it's concise, simple, and very easily digestible. It felt less than a regular guide, and more of just listening to a friend explaining something about a game they love with how much i could focus onto your words. And that's what made me enjoy this alot. :)

thank you. this is the only guide that was genuinely indepth and understandable for me. everyone else is splitting hairs over 160 vs 134 sparkle or whatever without really explaining why and what to do. and 160 is really unachievable for me with my relic luck lol
Actually if you use AV to boost your Sparkle forward you can achieve three turns on the first cycle with just 140.7 speed.
Relic luck is not as important as understanding speed tuning and AV advance.
@@YASUOMURAMASA thanks for the advice. i managed to get to 160-something speed by forgoing a 4pc set on her. i went for a 2pc 2pc combo with better substats and it worked out. ill keep the 4pc hacker as a longterm goal but for now this is decent.

Wow legitimately the best video out there that explains the av and speed system that even laymans can understand. Most others out there do make it seem a bit too tryhardy and kinda makes me go eh i dont really need to know this this seems too minmaxxy for me ill just play the game, this video here actually succinctly explains the concept in a simple and intuitive way, what a great video. 10/10 video. I think I may _fully_ understand the speed mechanic for the first time lol. I knew almost all of this but it can be hard to visualize at times when strategizing my builds. Your analogies alongside that chart for different cycle clears helped me A LOT.

For the first time, i understood action values and speed in this game from this video. Ever since launch, i have been playing the game and watching guides to get the general idea of the mechanics of the game, and the only thing i know is that in order to have multiple turns in a cycle, i need to reach a certain speed value and yet i never knew why.
Thank you for the explanation. The visuals helped a lot as well. I really appreciate you getting into AV and SPD before explaining sparkle's kit in relation to those mechanics.
