I wore Carets for 2 years as an outside salesman. By far the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. It was the only shoe that let me walk for hours from Monday through Friday. 100% worth my money.

Thank you for the great review. I only wish that you had implemented more scenes of the shoes on your feet.

Dope break down of the shoe bro !! I actually wonder that about why some dress shoes aren’t comfortable when we have to perform many task like walking at work and at events . I’ll have to check them out cause I’m super flat footed lol so i May need that

Hi there. Great review! You mentioned that in size 11 the widest part of the shoe is about 108mm - this sounds very wide compared to other minimalist shoes I own. Did you measure this from edge to edge excluding the outsole?

Nice to see that the toe-spring is fairly flexible.

Yes, but I hope they release a shoe without it, in the future.

@@GrownandHealthy Early in development, we made a shoe that was completely flat. They went "plop, plop, plop" with every step, like a pair of flippers. Toe spring is a useful feature if done right, as it helps you not kick the front of your shoes, especially on dress shoes where there's extra length in the front.
However, we do agree that it can be reduced. Our R&D team is currently working on a new generation of shoes, and the reduced toe spring has already been implemented. Toe spring will be reduced in all our products going forward. These changes won't be ready until early 2021, but we're very excited!

@@Carets_Shoes Great! I can see the "plopping" to be annoying. I found the Oxford flexible enough to engage my toes.

@@Carets_Shoes actually, Squat University has an important piece on white toe spring is important to engage the arch muscles. Shoes with stiff soles end up atrophying the arch muscles. Please look him up, I hope you didn't change your design!

This is exactly what I am looking for for business meetings and formal occasions. The only alternative I have found are Birchbury and they have mediocre to poor ratings and won't even respond to an email about fit for width and high volume feet. Would you still recommend these? I see that it did this video 2 years ago.

Would it be fair to say that the Caret's Oxford (these shoes) and the Birchbury Shoes are the only minimalist dress shoes out there (wide toe-box, flat, and flexible)? Or have you come across any other (dress shoe) made with the same intention? Also, if you had to pick one of those two which would you pick? I'm leaning towards Birchbury since they're about $100 less. Thanks!

There were some alternatives from Vivobarefoot in comparison to Birchbury...But Caret's is the only formal dress shoe I have seen.

Hi, I have also been looking for formal shoes for my office job and it looks like Carets would be a great use for this as well as my bro's wedding coming up. I wanted to let you know that Groundies also do a few formal shoes too and are a great price. Thanks for mentioning Birchbury, I've been looking around for more options. The one thing I will say about Groundies is that the top leather can bend and warp easily on some of the designs, however, for the cost, they are well worth it! Hope this helped mate.

Your channel is the best. Any chance you could do a review/comparison of the Amazon brand TSLA's replica of the Vaporglove? Also would love more videos integrating the sandbag. Thinking of purchasing one and wanted to hear some updates after long-term use or if you even still use it/recommend it. Keep up the videos!

Thanks! If you are talking about the pair that look like the Vapor Glove 3's? They are definitely on my list, but they are on backorder on amazon in my size and color.

in what cases would you recommend flat feet reconstruction surgery?

    • @GrownandHealthy
      @GrownandHealthy  Před 4 lety +2

The post surgery rehabilitation for the surgery is at least 3 months, I would dedicate at least that amount of time ( 3 months ) of consistent for strength training with a solid program, before I considered surgery.

Okay I got an MRI a couple days ago and these were the findings: trace tenosynovitis medial tendons and peroneal tendon. Subtle insertional posterior tibialis tendinosis with mild edema within the adjacent medial navicular bone, likely secondary to a tug injury. Mild as planus, mild pes planus. Flattened navicular bone, congenital/ development variant with mild talonavilcular joint osteoarthritis. I know this is a lot of info but I watch your videos, and really respect your wealth of knowledge and advice. You also led me to buy my first barefoot shoes. Thank you.
