Are We still Foot Binding?!
Are we still practicing the body modification of Foot Binding?!
Long ago, this practice was the highest form of body modification in China, offering prestige and increasing the chances of finding a influential or wealthy suitor.
This perception of beauty also came at a steep price. Debilitating the women, leaving them in excruciating pain at the chance of being held in high esteem.
With the limit placed on the ability of these women, the government began to clamp down on the practice, to free the women of this bondage and to incorporate them into the labor pool of the country.
Now, decades later, I see the similarities, between the Chinese Foot Binding and our societies infatuation with Heeled Footwear.
And how the same motivators are at play and the havoc they are wreaking on our posture and mobility, Worldwide.

How to Walk Rough Terrain

Walking on Compacted Gravel. In my opinion, jagged Gravel is the most difficult terrain to walk on, barefoot. I consider it easier than walking barefoot on a Hiking trail or Urban trail. This terrain shows the benefit of a larger surface area and the dampening ability of the Forefoot strike instead of Heel strike. This carries over to walking on unyielding surfaces, such as the concrete slabs t...

Walking at this Pace is The best way to Burn Fat.

Walking at this Pace is what burns Fat. This is a zone 2 cardio pace, that keeps me in my fat burning zone, while avoiding the high intensity fatigue. How do you calculate Your Zone 2? The formula is 220 minus your age. So if you're 30 years old, your maximum heart rate would be 190 (220 - 30 = 190). 70-80% of 190 would give you a Zone 2 heart rate range of 133-152, and you would want to stay a...

❤️👍 deep thanks for sharing your insight. I was athletic as a kid and LOVED running (in bare feet!!). Now I'm 51, overweight, get sore feet, etc etc. I have sketchers I wear most days. Sometimes I love their cushioning and other days it feels like it isn't helping, esp thru my posture. I've watched a couple of your videos and sure I'll be paying attention (to where my foot is landing) when walking. Have subscribed and hope to learn more. Much gratitude! 🙏

One of the worst fitness tool ever. I am a high level cali athlete, but i cant do any pull up with these beacuse those straps are literally cutting off the skin between my fingers, and the grip is unstable and unconfortable as hell. (No, my grip strenght is decent) so... Maybe its useable for some lighter weight and other gym stuff but overall i really dont recommened to anyone to buy. :(

I learned this by accident recently~~I had sesamoiditis (still working through it) and had to walk on the edge of my foot to avoid those little bones (it felt so wrong...at first). I also stopped using my inserts for plantar fasciitis because I learned they are probably why I injured my sesamoids (foot locked in place with no ability to rotate and flex). Low and behold my heels no longer hurt and my injury is healing nicely. I have watched so many CZcams videos from angels like you and thank you!! (my podiatrist wanted to immobilize my foot for months! no way that was happening, haha)

wow... thank you for this. I have extremely high arches, had peroneal tendon tears that had to get surgically patched up. I then went to physical therapy for strengthing my tendons, and they taught me how to walk wrong, and i went a bit overboard with the calf raises. I have been suffering for months with intermetatarsal bursitis (tried steroid injections, wide toe-box shoes, toe spacers, pads), but nothing really helped. I watched this video and 10 minutes later I am able to walk with less irritation in the ball of my feet. Why do more people not know this. thank you again.

For someone like me who has walked between 8-12 miles daily for years and who is also 45 or so lbs lighter than he used to be but saw no injury from that walking with normal shoes I am trying to understand why I would need to switch to toe shoes to prevent injury with a weighted vest? I used to to wear five fingers and that variety and I always ended up having some type of knee issue with them which eventually went away when I switched to normal shoes. Just curious why this is a requirement.

You’re a Wizard Just tried out this way of walking and my right foot is cracking, 😀 in a good way, plus I’m actually able to walk in a straight line, normally I’m wobbling from side to side. I’ve got hammer toes and bunions, I’m sure this will diminish too. Wowza I’m delighted My legs began tingling like pins and needles. 60 years of walking the wrong way, before long I may start jogging again. Boy this is going to change everything. There’s a saying “No foot, no horse” meaning the health and balance of the hooves greatly determines the importance of motion efficiency/ survival. The past month I’ve dedicated myself to sorting out my hips etc, doing a lot of great stuff like stretching, sitting less, Gym, treadmill, cycling but……. I hadn’t looked at my feet or even understood what hip rotation actually meant ( partner nagging me for years 😀) Thanks a million 🏃‍♀️ PS best of all, my groin strain ceased immediately 👍😀

Hey I'm confused because in different toe walking video u didn't bend ur knee that much kept ur back straight. Is this form better or is it next step to increase one's speed in toe walking if walking relaxed is too slow? Thanks. NGL incredibly hard to overbite old habit of walking + not to look like, I'm not straight😂 Wanna do it in manliest way possible. I sometimes stretch out my toes like in Billie or whatever, so tough to change habits. Sucks u need flexible shoes tho, since those cost FARR more, not everyone can afford it.
