Trevor Bowen I’m in the key of C, but I’m also probably tuned to A432. I usually play it in D, but that day my voice was a little under the weather, so I sang it in C. I tuned my fiddle FCGC. But I usually tune my fiddle GDAD in order to play it in D. Hope this helps:)

When I was this girl's age, I played a wandering fiddler in a play and it took tons of practice to be able to simply walk around and fiddle at the same time without my bow bouncing or crunching. I'm so impressed that this fiddler can dance and fiddle at the same time. That takes enormous control. She's amazing!

A fiddle and a violin are the same instrument. It is the style of play where the name difference occurs. In Cajun country (near my home), that is also a fiddle and is played similarly. However, there is another Hillary Klug video where she is playing the instrument in a more classical style. So there we have an extra factor - she's pretty, shapely, dances well, and plays her instrument in multiple styles. What a GREAT combination.

Oh my! Just saw Hillary perform this in Silver Dollar City. It was just amazing. She is a great entertainer, dancing, telling jokes, and giving the history of Buck dancing. She played banjo, claw hammer style and it has a much more plucky sound. She also played some great old-time tunes that are not performed anymore. As a Buck dancing champion, she is proud to spread its popularity to new audiences. It's fun to watch and fun to do. She just enjoyed dancing and playing so much, it was infectious.

As a person who drums a little at church service, her boots are right on beat. Never missed the rhythm! I’ll add she was magnificent in the fiddle too.
I saw her doing that on a corner in downtown Nashville about a year ago. She is FANTASTIC! and she had a big crowd around her.

Everything about this is excellence! The concentration,practice and determination to pull this off should not be underestimated. She maintains focus and her lovely smile the whole time. Great rhythm, cute outfit and amazing hair. Very,very nice.
It's already difficult to synchronize left hand play with the right hand on the bow, especially with that speed. And yet, she synchronizes it with the feet. It's not only difficult, but it's amazing, and full of talent.

So in terms of real American music, I'd argue that hip hop and rock and roll is more "American", per se.

When i was a baby my mom said cotton eye joe used to be my jam! I used to have a swing that hung in the doorway and i would just bounce around there for a long time and when my mom would sing cotton eye joe i started jumping to the beat of the song lol

I actually got an I dea from her foot work that will help me go faster on my double bass drums .Man she has quick feet and the coordination to do both at the same time is off the charts .

I grew up with my grandfather playing his violin and loved it. His favourite song he played a lot was "Wildwood Flower".

I was in a Rock/Blues band doing Allman brother covers among other things back in the early 70's and we did a benefit for some cause which escapes me now, but it was at the Omni in Atlanta (no longer there). The Omni held between 15 and 20 thousand people. John Hartford was the headliner and we were on the venue with him. He wasn't so well known then and only about 500 people showed up which basically looked like an empty room. Well, we did our best cover songs and a few originals and the people liked it OK, but so hard to play to a room that size, largely empty. But Hartford, in his unassuming way, walked out with an acoustic guitar, a banjo and a fiddle, sat down on a chair, and proceeded to destroy the room. I was just stunned. As he walked off the stage people were standing in their chairs wanting more. I always followed what he was doing after that because he just blew us and our 100 watt Marshalls away with just his raw talent and ability to connect with what few people were there. A few years later he developed the act you are speaking of. They really don't make 'em like that anymore! He was truly a gentle giant.

Lol honey that ain't tap dance and those are cowboy boots. You see how she's using the heel of her foot for a lot of those moves? We don't do that in tap. The majority of tap moves are on the ball of the foot. Tap shoes are slippery, if you're on your heel acting a fool, you're gonna fall.
