My husband and I always loved Jim Croce's songs. Found him when we were in high school in 66, and then lost Jim in 73 when his group who had been doing a concert, had the plane crash when the pilot had a heart attack. Geoff did a bang-up number on this one. Would love to hear him to Time in a Bottle.

Geoff really enjoyed the scatting at the end. This was filmed at "a random studio in Orlando" as the PattyCake Production's studio was busy. This video was fueled by peanut butter and jam sandwiches.

This is a surprisingly fun song. Geoff was spot on with the arrangement and the dancing Castellucci brothers is especially enjoyable.

Geoff's version of this classic was so much more menacing than the original, and I loved that he included the scat! I think that "round" was chest voice, he's lowered his chest voice from G1 to F1 or F#1. Then that delicious subharmonic. Glorious!

One thing I really like in this cover (over the original) is that while he kept the guitar, Geoff dialed it WAY back in comparison. It gives this a heavier percussive feel, focusing on the stomps and claps, which really adds menace. The original was great fun, but it was less 'fighting words' and more bop.
Additionally there were some really nice harmonies added here and the occasional extra vocal flourish. And I get a kick out of 'Slim' coming in at not only a different register, physically different hand movements.
