@@tinatorres5267 I see you a lot posting that same all too often repeated lie. Don't believe everything that comes off the entertainment press pages, or those who have a lot to lose if the reality of truth were known. Your infatuation with Priscilla and Elvis as the perfect love is misguided, as it is for so many others. Priscilla was and is no saint, and not anywhere near was she loved by Elvis as you seem to think, at least not the kind of love between a man and woman supposedly head over heels in-love. Most of that was the entertainment industry press hyperbole. They had over-romanticized Elvis and Priscilla's relationship which was part of the pressure he endured leading up to his marriage. He brought her over to the states on an immature, impulsive, spur of the moment decision due to youthful infatuation, and not true stick to your soul love. The only way her parents agreed was that he promise to marry her, which he did. But by the time he met Ann, that infatuation had dissolved, but all too late. When a man loves a woman, he would not cheat on her, and allow himself to fall head over heels in love with someone else, which he did with Ann-Margret.
Also regardless of Priscilla's lie, Elvis was not her greatest love either. Did you know she cheated and had more than just one affair while married to Elvis? Her first known adultery was only 4 months after she gave birth to their daughter in 1968, which was not long after they were married in 67. Priscilla was taking private dance lessons and had an affair with her dance instructor, some guy named Mark. Then again in 1972 after Priscilla began taking karate lessons from a guy she met backstage during one of Elvis' concerts whose name was Mike Stone. She immediately moved in with him after Elvis and she divorced. There was one other guy, I forget his name that one of the Memphis Mafia mentioned. So that makes 3 affairs at least before the divorce. She had an adulterous nature and never loved Elvis, or else no way would she have even thought of another man, much less flirt and have a sexual relation with them. So you have no clue when you repeat the lie that Priscilla was his greatest love. She was neither his, nor he hers, and that is the whole truth and nothing but the truth. It was Ann-Margret who was his greatest love. He wanted to marry Ann, but was separated from her 'against his will' after Priscilla found out and went to her daddy who in turn threatened Elvis, to charge him under the Mann Act, i.e. for "taking a minor across state lines for sexual purposes". This along with his stupid manager reminding him of RCA's "Moral Clause", and that he should do as he's told and proceed in marrying Priscilla. He was caught crying his eyes out by his one of his housekeepers days before the wedding because he didn't want to do it, and she told him if that's how he felt about it, then don't do it, don't go though with it if he didn't want to, but Elvis answered saying; "I have no choice".
His best man at his wedding, (one of the two) said just 5 minutes before the wedding ceremony that Elvis said, I" don't want to do this". Gee, I wonder why? It's no wonder it wasn't a happy marriage. Because it wasn't a soulmate kind of lifelong love, that's why. They were not meant for one another. How very sad.
Red was asked during an interview what would be two things Elvis would change if he could do it all over again. Reds answer to one was; "He would Marry Ann-Margret".
Elvis' story had a very sad ending because he was not permitted to proceed with instinct and live out his destiny with Ann. This is what happens when we don't make the choices that God Himself hands us. But it's our choice all the same and we are either blessed for making the right ones, or cursed for making the wrong ones. Instead he had to marry a 21 year old he'd known since she was 14, practically helped raise and was no longer infatuated with. Deeply cared for, yes, for sure, and he felt responsible for her.
He did try in his own way to make the best of the situation and played along for the media and public, but we know how that turned out in the end - and all for naught. But all the while staying connected in whatever way he could with his one and only true soulmate, Ann-Margret. And THAT is an unfortunate truth for Priscilla fans.
Yes, she cried her heart out as one would who had just lost her one and only soul mate.

even if he was with ann margaret he would have been with other women. that how he was with all the ladies he was with including his co stars the lady that was with him in blue hawaii mili he proposed to her too before he went to army and after he came out he wanted her to be with him in another movie kid galahad. elvis was not the marrying kind or was he faithful what ann margaret and elvis had was a tryst for awhile. priscilla just stood with him as long as she could. she had to hear elivs brag about the women he was with that is not the kind of man i would want to be with although i do love his music

AM would have stayed by his side and helped him get help with him taking all them pills. She would have taken care of him. Everyone fed off of him. I fully agree with you Pat irrelevant of how many other co stars Elvis was romantically linked to. Ann Margaret and Elvis mirrored one another perfectly. They had the same interest and hobbies their love for singing and dancing. Not only were they lovers but were soul mates. And I think had Elvis married Ann he would have had a more fulfilling life and happiness. They would have had so much to share with one another Elvis would never have been bored. And I don’t think he would have cheated anymore. Knowing Ann was working would have kept him more interested and focused. It would have been the BEST thing that ever happened to Elvis!. Priscila was his one TRUE LOVE! He fell in love w/her when she was only 14. But knew the consequences of her age and what it would do to his career/ imprisonment. He waited for her to become of age and she waited patiently for 8 yrs. Graceland was a spiritual place in his heart in honor of his Mom. Elvis moved Priscila to Graceland when she was only 16 yrs old. Moving her there from Germany speaks for itself. At the end of the day, he went home to Graceland the place he loved and cherished and to the woman he loved and cherished, Priscila! Granted he had feelings for Ann.

II read in a biography that Elvis did love ann she said they were soulmates but he said he couldn't do anything about it because he had a commitment that he made . this song speaks for it self
That commitment or promise to marry Priscilla to her parents was in hindsight, personally badly misplaced. People say EP wasn't the marriage type. But Ann was literally Elvis' mirror image I don't believe he would have been a control freak with Ann in fact two independent minded people would have complimented each other really well because the limelight would have been shared, very similar interests and the Colonel's influence might have been tamed. We will never know. Ann probably on a more intimate level would have been able to talk to EP about his drug addiction and possible help without him getting angry also.
I always wonder had he felt about his lost love for Ann Margaret, because Ann had a near breakdown at EP's funeral which is all you need to know how she felt about Elvis.
