Nowadays, a 3.0 V6 executive sedan with all-wheel-drive, 6-speed gearbox and top speeds around 240 KpH would seem to be absolutely ordinary... But back 25 years ago, these numbers were absolutely groundbreaking! And it still is a gorgeous car too, ALFA has given us a lot of aesthetically stunning cars throughout its over hundred years of history.
It's a miracle. It's a miracle. She is beautiful. Do not be surprised that I am so delighted. 10 years I have two alpha 164. 1992, 2.0 T. Spark and 1992. 3.0 V6. Both before the lift.
@@prontoklasik Always a matter of opinion...have driven both engines and the Busso V6 wins hands down. In general 5 cilinders, like Volvo or Audi, sound great as well, but nog a great as a glorious busso V6
Awesome - thank-you for sharing! My dad had a 1992 Cloverleaf - am amazed the company allowed him to have it as a company car, but so glad we could! We had a twinsport 164 before the cloverleaf, but both were beautiful cars...
I've always thought the Alfa Romeo 164 V6 was a really desirable sedan! I would've given up my BMW 325 for it any day of the week! I've even considered a Milano. What Italian car isn't sexy..aside from the Fiat? A well kept 164 is a jewel. 👍 One of my top cars I missed owning.
A quei tempi oltre alla notevole ALFA 164 (anche integrale) di ammiraglie italiane c'era la altrettanto notevole LANCIA THEMA (anche con motore Ferrari). Due bellissime auto: ognuna interpretava bene lo spirito del marchio di appartenenza. Scegliere una o l'altra comunque era cadere in piedi... Peccato erano contemporanee (come quando avevamo contemporaneamente Baggio e Zola in nazionale, non si sapeva mai bene chi fare giocare)!
Pienamente d'accordo, due auto eccezionali, simbolo della loro epoca. Tra 164 Q4 e Thema 8.32 sceglierei la Lancia, ma il Busso è sempre uno spettacolo

E se vogliamo menzionare qualcosa di estero il pensiero corre alla Ford Sierra Cosworth berlina (4x2 o 4x4), altro mostro sacro di quei bellissimi anni!!
@@nicolamiriano9150 beh sulla Biturbo i difetti erano più evidenti che su altri modelli: in particolare l'affidabilità e la difficile tenuta di strada soprattutto sul bagnato (troppo peso all'avantreno e potenza erogata in maniera esplosiva). Le su citate 164 o Thema avevano poche mancanze sotto tutti i punti di vista....
O designu u Alfy Romeo netřeba hovořit, nikdo nedělá atraktivnější vzhled, než Alfa. Busso V6 je motor, který jsem měl možnost vyzkoušet ve 147 a i když jsem řídil novější, výkonnější auta s turbem apod. řidičský zážitek, jako komplet, jsem nikdy neměl lepší jako v Alfě Romeo 147 GTA.
I bought a 164 as a fourteen-year-old car. It had several problems but enjoyed owning and driving it. At the time I did think the lines of the car were dated and a bit yesterday looking. Now looking at the 164's here I can't believe how brilliant the design and style of the !64 was.

Y la velocidad que levantaba para esa época era terrible. No hablar de la tecnologia que tenía. Apretabas un botón y te calentaba los asientos de cuero. Una locura
Anyone noticed the crazy idle speed? Whilst the car may look great, there is probably an issue with the MAF or with the idle motor (can't remember if these have one).
Tak tohle auto jsem řídil, stejná motorizace, jen v bílé barvě. Jezdili jsme s ním po silnicích kolem Ostravy, 180 - 200 nebyl problém, nejvíc jsem s ním jel 220 (a dálnice tenkrát u Ostravy ještě nebyly). Půjčil mi ho otec mého kamaráda a dost se divím, že mi ho svěřil, byla to v té době hodně drahá hračka. Je to už ale zhruba 20 let a dodnes je to nejsilnější auto, které jsem měl možnost řídit.

I have 2 Alfa Romeo 164. In real life this car sounds fantastic, much better as in the video. And it is a weapon on the track, which beats Audis and Porsches... and nearly everything you need to beat. Fantastic car. A legend......

I (stupidly!) sold my 1984 Alfa GTV6 2.5 (very rare as it had factory air con) for a 1990 164 3.0 back in the early Nineties… both great cars with sublime sounding engines. Your oil pressure looks a little low; both my GTV6 and 164 used to read around 4bar when the engine was above about 2,000rpm even when the engine was hot…
I owned one 164 3.0 QV. Production year 1990. It was long time ago. Sound is wonderful, great torque, pull on hills easy, strong on highway but on curves like to oversteer fast without prediction and that could be dangerous if driver is not a bit proffessional. Alfa 164 V6 had nick name "Black Widow". But if driver dont push on limits it could be great car overall.
Alex21Type R Projekt driver was changing his direction to let mighty Alfa 164 pass. What do you consider dangerous in passing car, which driver knows about you, and there is at least 2 kilometers straight ahead you???
Notate qualche buca per strada per caso? Se guidassi così la mia Giulia, dopo 10km sarei dal gommista, meccanico e carrozziere contemporaneamente. Dimenticavo: bestia di motore!

The sound of the Arese V6 is miles ahead of the one in the Giulia and Stelvio imo.
