- This is my updated tutorial on how to paint a nerf gun. I have an older tutorial on how to paint a nerf gun, but I felt that this new tutorial would more accurately represent how I paint Nerf guns now.
Paints used in the video:
Duplicolor Black Vinyl and Fabric Dye
Citadel Khorne Red
Citadel Runefang Steel
Duplicolor Trim and Bumper Paint
or
Duplicolor Matte Wheel Clear Coat (recommended by me)

I don't think I've ever seen close captions work so well. Such clear speech.
I know right
pretty sure it was written
@@Hazza_05 it wasn't dumbass
@@J4ve I'm a dumbass? Theres an option to write your own captions as a creator and you really think that the automatic dictation is able to pick up the exact words for the whole video? eg 8:39 "rust-oleum" or at 10:29 where it correctly capitalises the name of a website. Not all of it is perfect as you'd expect a mistake or two when writing an entire 17 mins video. but you dumb
@@Hazza_05 i didnt say that "The automatic dictation is able to pick up the exact words for the whole video," stop assuming things, what i only said is that it wasnt completely written. Stop posting things on the internet if you dont want to get criticized ya snowflake lmao
I can’t be the only one who is scared to take out the internals
Holy water I fuck up and broke a piece once
Yeah me too
Holy water me to
I splitted my Nerf gun and cannot put it back together
Me too
Congratulations! You now have the absolute best nerf painting tutorial on the internet :)
Back in 2010ish when I was 9, I didn't have any spray paint so I painted my Recon with a paint brush.
How well did it go?
It always looks like crap
I guess you should of done some “Recon” around the neighborhood for spray paint:)
Gotta make do with what you have!
I like how you have gone full Bob Ross @ 11:51 "There are also no mistakes in painting"
Nice job I'm likely try to paint my first nerf gun soon. This helped a ton!
Excuse me tutorials aren't supposed to be done well. FBI OPEN UP, OFFICER HE'S RIGHT THERE
“There are no mistakes in painting.” Yep, this is is bob ross’s son!
This is one of the best Nerf tutorials I've seen. Grammar and wording is fantastic as well as the editing. Just a solid video good job man.
I buy nerf guns literally just to paint them, it’s a super fun hobby
Ps:I think yours turned out really well considering you used a paint brush for the red, (I like to only use spray paint/hydro dipping, because it usually comes out looking better)
Remember there are no mistakes in Art
Unless of course you messed up super badly. Lol lmfao im dying😂
Its not that funny
daniel van der Have ur not that funny 😂
@@ritachoy8348 no it’s really not that funny
Thats treu
Hears younger persons voice

Keep up the amazing work this video was awesome for your age (don't take any offence if you are older)
Heheh I'M A 12 yo WITH A PUMP ACTION RETALIATOR AND A UNLOCKED STRYFE
I ALSO PUT WAY TO MUCH TAPE ON MY P.A.R (pump action retaliator) AND I CALL IT THE TAPETALIATOR
imagine cringing cause someone is young

I'm here because my mom bought me a girly nerf.
SciMuta Which one? The Rebelle line?
Sgt. OUTLAWraith yes
SciMuta lmfao 😂😂😂😂😂😂
SciMuta I'm just here because in a forest you can easily see the color scheme for a nurf gun
same
I'm not too huge on the black base coat paint jobs, but I have to admit, the red designs and silver trims looks awesome man. GG.
I find the fine details and weathering after the main paint job the most fun
Just a little tip, if you want it to stick even better you can spray some primer on it beforehand. Also look up model weathering techniques if you want to add very subtle effects like some fake shadows and stuff
for some weird reason i could smell the paint
@emil rech lmao r/whoooosh

5 years later and you're still #1!
Would also love to see some alternatives to GW paints. They are very expensive and I prefer to save them for my models, applying that much to something hurts haha
Bro. I have been looking at tutorials on youtube knowing that there is always something wrong about them. But you well your Perfect. You displayed the Things you Need. Told everyone about small but important features. and Didnt make one mistake. Ive Like the video And you better keep this up. Supreme job on the gun.
Looks amazing! I'm happy there is a well detailed and updated video :)
That paint job is freaking beautiful 👌
mag, you are the next coop772/ lord drac, your mods are just badass and over all your video quality has just skyrocketed keep up the great work man
Nice looking blaster, I'll be painting a couple of mine soon, I used to cut and bend a piece of wire coathanger and spraypaint over a newspaper-lined bathtub with the parts dangling from my makeshift jig, this way you get good coverage quicker and you can hold the components to be painted on the hangers so they don't stick to the floor/paper or whatever you cover the worksurface with.
Great video though, and a really cool looking blaster in my favourite colours! Thanks for taking the time to make this tutorial.
Dude can't believe you only have 17,000 subs, your content is awesome and your work is real clean and professional, like Coops. Keep up the awesome work I'm sure you will have heaps of subs in the near future
Absolutely fantastic video. So informative & end result looked flawless. Top notch. 👌
Best nerf painting tutorial on the internet! Keep up the good work 👏👏👏 (also the paint job is super nice)
I love how well the paint looks!
I painted my nerf gun using your first tutorial. It didn't come out nearly as nice as yours but I still think you did a great job. I did the same colors as you did in this tutorial(black and red) and I think yours looks amazing. I'll definitely use your tutorials again.
Good job man. Your gun looks so cool. That helped me is well 👍
Brilliant work!! You should continue with tutorials like that. GOOD JOB
After you apply the vinyl dye spray , can I still put on another color using spray paint for plastic ?
Dude this is the best tutorial you have ever done!
Lord Drac,mag212,and NerfBoyProductions our my favorite nerf channels
Cool! An updated version of your old video! Thanks!
Very proffesional, high-detail video. You've earned a sub!
+mag212 this is epic! I love these kinds of videos. Great stuff.
very nice!! Special spray paint, acrylic and clear coat I see now. Paint in coats not all at once
Probably the best explanation and easy to understand video tutorial I’ve seen!
Thank you so much. This was my first nerf mod and the paint matched perfectly.
i used a different one that bonds to plastic and it is still sticky even after a clear coat? do i apply a second clear coat or no?
Do u hav to prim the gun first becuase i am wanting to give a paintjob to my hyperfire elite and my stryfe
u seem to be very safe around this stuff yet you are wearing flip flops.... lol
Nugget I have subbed may I have your nugget of friendship?
I am going to paint my two Sweet Revenge blasters with a base coat of vinyl dye, and Testors brand acrylic model paint. Any tips for using the Testors, as in thinning it, or anything?
What Tools did u use to make that longshot+firefly integration???
from citadel there are difrent type of paints shade base and more whicth one do u use
Are Tamiya sprays & Tamiya Flat Clear coat good for painting Nerf guns?
How did you managed to paint the raised logo and letters, just by handpaint?
My question is, I am plaining on painting my Falconfire, White, with Grey background, how would you paint it
How much plastic can one of those citadel paint bottles cover?
This is such a great video, very informative and helpful. Liked and subscribed :)
Awesome paint job. After watching now me & my son will have a blast trying this out.
Are there components in both sides of a rapidstrike? I really want to paint mine but i dont want to cut any wires
Would masking tape work as a component to seal off any areas you don’t wanna paint??
primer would help a lot...it's great for helping adhesion to plastic and reduces layer amount due to no previous color
Great vid! This tutorial really helped me!
Sweet job Mag..looks almost like the Bloodshed from COD Advanced Warfare..nice touch man, keep up the good work!
i want to paint my modulus EC-10, it is the same for an electric blaster?
What brand of spray did you use? I used krylon colormaster and it came out very weird and chalky
I want to paint my nerf rough cut ,which colour should I use ?
I'm going to paint my retaliator what couler paint should I use for a woodland camofluage
Can you do a tutorial on the rapidstrike I painted one and a part fel out and I don’t know how to put it back
How did you make the secondary additional colors?....I get all of it but putting the secondary color I got lost
That looks really good!
this helps a lot also love the paint scheme
Thanks :)
Insanely nice and smooth paintjob. I just bought my first Nerf gun (accustrike alphahawk) and I'm thinking of painting it. Probably a mass effect theme. My question is though, do you make paintjobs that show gun wear and grime and stuff? If so how could you get those details in. And do you use masking tape for some paint jobs?
Quick question, wouldn’t you want to tape up the grip on guns that already have the appropriately colored grip? Might keep the guns from getting that nasty sticky texture
Epic video, im about to paint my first nurf gun and im definitely using your tips. 👍😊
What if you need the tips somewhat painted if you're making a character whose guns match the outfit?
Would a Longshot look good with those color schemes? I just got it, but the front gun color scheme doesn't match the Longshot.
Should you use rustolium or the 98 cent spray can
Dude your vids are the only vids that help with spray painting nerf so thank u
+Mag212 Will something bad when i paint the epoxy putty? (Or whatever thing is used to put things together)
Do you think a Strongarm would be a good blaster start with?
Did you add a blue stock on the blaster?
Really good tutorial, if my mod crazed son hasn't watched this yet, he will this weekend!
Did you have to sand it down a bit after you spray painted the nerve gun?
Ìs it okay if I just instantly pain it with brush without reassembling it?
What were you doing with the napkin by the handle
Also any tips for a beginner
And about how much would this cost
That was the best tutorial I have ever watched! You are great at this!
Hello, because I'm from China, so I can't understand the language in the video. I just want to ask what is the red pigment you used later?
Can you paint your nerf gun with normal paint like the one you need to use a brush?
Mag great job brother you have definitely got skills
I want to paint my guns a Centurion red of sort, would I make that my base color or would I want to use something else?
You want the color you want the majority of the blaster to be to main color.
+MuffinToast 1 Thanks man! Im pretty new to this so thanks for helping me out!
About how many coats of clear stuff should you put on the gun?
Hey man,I’m pretty stupid, but once you spray with lead paint and it drys it’s fine and has no danger of lead poison, right?
Do you HAVE to use citadel paint or can it be any acrylic paint?
Can we just spray all the components or will it damage?
How long will it last if you don't do the protective coat?
Do we have to sand the insides of the shells as well before sparying?
Thanks Im thinking Of Painting My RapidStrike Any Tips?
Will my trigger stop working when i don't disassemble my gun? Pls tell me most of the things that can go wrong when i paint my gun without Disassembling it.
Thermometer _ if you paint the trigger while the blaster is assembled, It may be harder to pull the trigger and some paint may chip off but it is not too bad and the blaster will still work. Also, if you do not disassemble the gun when spray painting, the blaster may not look as smooth and some paint may drip and look uneven but if you are a more casual painter it may not look that bad. I hope this helped
That really enjoy watching that. Can't wait until my workshop is finished to do that. What gun were you using.
I was wondering what happens if i used water based paint markers? Did i make a mistake?
Will it work fine, if i use acrylic spray paint?
Ur the best bro..i like how ur very carefull abt others and dont disturbs them
Dude thanks man really helpful
Edit: and dang your gun looks good!
WOW! This kid is pretty detailed. Great job!
im gonna use white spray and red, green or blue for the smaller parts. propably no complicated detailing
love your mods! as good as coop and drac!
Did you use a new, full can of vinyl dye for this paint job?
