Romania’s Nadia Comaneci scored the first perfect 10 in gymnastics at the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games and became a legend. Now, together with her Olympic champion husband Bart Conner, she is finding a new thrill coaching young gymnasts and helping people in her homeland.
These legends made history, but their legacy lives on. Where are Olympic heroes now and how are they inspiring future generations?

Plus she has a banging body. Most 30 year olds would envy it. And other than maybe a probable breast lift, the only way to get a body that good is the old fashioned way. Liposuction won't do it. She works for that body. Nothing wrong with a little plastic surgery. So long as you get it done right and you don't go overboard.

I met her once. There’s something very mysterious and enigmatic about this woman: she’s had an incredible life from her fame at an early age to her escape from Romania and her life in the USA since then; and while she absolutely knows what her name means (she’s probably still the most famous gymnast in the world), she’s very humble about it and uses her fame for very good causes. She owns her celebrity but doesn’t brag about it. It’s a mixture of detachment, humility and natural strength. She’s fascinating.

She possesses the quintessential athleticism, attitude, disposition, personality and temperment to be, as Plato describes in his teachings of the ultimate forms, the ultimate champion. So it's not only her perfect 10.0 performances in the 1976 Olympics that make her great, it is how she has carried herself throughout her life, as a Romanian and an American citizen. She claimed in videos on CZcams before she died she wasn’t able to eat enough to keep her strength up, the Government decided when her leg was healed, IT WAS NOT, her coach, Also a victim of the system pushed her to do harder skills, perhaps he had some jealousy as His brother was a successful Gymnast. THATS WHY ELENA DIDNT BLAME HIM, She blamed the Government, which was??

@@andreyk.2255 Communism has everything to do with it. You must be liberal. Did you even watch this documentary? Nadia had to leave in the middle of the night and was lucky to have made it out alive. That was because of Communism. Schools have brainwashed our youth to believe Communism and Socialism are these beautiful ideas. They have both been tried again and again, and every time it fails and people risk their lives to flee the oppressive governments. Wake up.

She trained people in my home state, in Oklahoma. They tried recruiting me by age 8. The only reason we didn’t more forward was because I had a single mom and their training costs, despite being the best in the world and totally worth it, wasn’t doable for us. I ended up with a spinal injury anyways and couldn’t progress. It would have been an amazing experience just the same.

When I was 10, I watched Nadia at the 1976 Olympics. I can only remember seeing her on the uneven bars for some reason. I admired her greatly. The last time I heard something about her was when she was married to a USA gymnast!
I had no idea that Nadia Comaneci had started a Children’s Clinic for the poor in Romania! I had never heard most of the good things she has done that I found out about in this video.
She strikes me as someone down to earth and even humble, especially given her fame.
Thank you for posting this and letting us find out about her life now.

Unfortunately I wasn’t cut out to be a gymnast 😢but I did learn a lot about doing my best and challenging myself. I believe this gave me the determination and strength to succeed in my career and family. I hope Nadia knows what an amazing role model she was not only to me but to so many other girls back in the 70’s and 80’s. ❤
