In contrast to most commercial breads - which consist primarily of refined wheat or pulverized whole wheat, plus added sugar - Ezekiel bread is made of several different types of grains and legumes, and no added sugar.
But the biggest benefit of Ezekiel bread is not just its blend of ingredients, but rather that its ingredients are sprouted first.
Sprouting, which is soaking the grains in water and allowing them to germinate, causes a number of biochemical reactions in the grain.
This has two huge benefits: It increases the amount of healthy nutrients, and reduces the amount of harmful anti-nutrients in the grain.
STUDIES: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17..., www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11...
Studies show that sprouting wheat may lead to significant increases in soluble fiber, folate, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Beta-Carotene.
STUDY: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26...
Sprouting also partially breaks down the starch, which leaves sprouted grains with slightly less carbohydrate.
Sprouting grains can also increase their content of the amino acid lysine, which is a building block of protein. Combined with the addition of legumes, this increases the protein quality of Ezekiel bread somewhat.
Sprouted grains also have lower amounts of anti-nutrients, which are substances that inhibit the absorption of certain beneficial nutrients.
Phytic Acid is a substance found in grains and many other foods. It can bind minerals like Zinc, Calcium, Magnesium and Iron and prevent them from being absorbed.
Enzyme inhibitors are present in seeds, which protect them from spontaneously germinating but may also make the nutrients in them harder to access. Sprouting inactivates some of them.
Sprouting also reduces the amount of gluten in the grain, a protein that many people are sensitive to.
I should point out that it still contains gluten though, so Ezekiel bread is out of the question for people with celiac disease or strong gluten sensitivity.
So there you have it, if you’re not on a carb restricted diet and not gluten sensitive, then Ezekiel bread can be a healthier choice to commercial bread.
But remember at the end of the day, Ezekiel bread is still bread. For optimal nutrition, you may be better to cut down on bread and other processed foods altogether.

I purchased 2 loaves of these on a whim (trying out new foods) then looked online and found out how amazingly healthy they were this is the only bread I purchse now.
I dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb lost the account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@@dillonrory2038 lmfao this cracked me up

What a beautiful gift you have been blessed with from ALMIGHTY GOD,
Well Done
2 years ago I started my journey of giving up grains, sugar and all processed food. It was the best decision I have ever made! Recently I learned about that sprouted grain and I am pleased to have found an option that doesn’t compromise my healthy habits. Sprouted grain bread- toasted with cream cheese is the way to go for me! This video was well done!
what kind of cream cheese? I notice a lot of the big name cream cheeses like Philadelphia have a lot of different gums and other additives (xanthan gum, carob bean gum, potassium sorbate, etc).
I'm eating 6 slices a day with turkey and tomato, egg, whatever. The weight loss benefits are amazing and losing no significant muscle loss. This bread makes me look forward to enjoying food again. Toasted with cream cheese doesn't get any better.
Goat cheese 😊
@@---GOD---Goat cheese helps with weight loss.
I have been trying this bread for the past two days. It's been better and lasting me than the regular bread. So far so good.
I used to be anti-grans, but upon further research, I found out that the idea that whole grains are bad is not only lacking, insofar as scientific evidence is concerned, but actually, the healthiest, long-lived people with lowest rates of disease tend to have higher intakes of whole grains. Sprouting just makes them so much better, nutritionally speaking. And easier to digest. Eziekiel bread is the best bread you can get and is so amazing when you do not have time to make bread or other sources of grains and need something in a pinch without sacrificing health.
A key fact about Ezekial bread is that it is much lower on the glycemic index than most commercial bread
That's what they want us to believe, but it is not true at all. You can test your glucose before and after with white vs. ezekiel and they are the same. I fell for their lie, I wanted it to be true, but it's a big lie.
@@rafael55 Then you’ve done some shitty testing, mate… Glucose can spike for a lot of reasons. If you’re on a keto diet and suddenly first thing in the morning eat a piece of bread then yes, your glucose will fly through the roof. Same thing if you’re used to eating a lot of sugars, then if you eat a piece of bread your glucose will barely spike at all. Bloodsugar will behave differently depending on how your body digest sugar. You can’t use a personal glucose test as a factual measurement for GI.
Having gone Carnivore 5 months ago, ( And doing fantastic!) I was thrilled to have found Ezekiel Bread. I missed the crunch of some foods I had given up. But toasted Ezekiel Bread has saved me!
Expensive? Yes. But I only eat a couple....slices a week. So it lasts quite awhile. 😊

awesome video! thanks for the information!
I like how you still kept it real eziekel bread is good for you but still just cut out the bread if you REALLY trying to lose weight
Very true it is great bread awesome but if you're looking to lose weight cut the bread
This is my favorite bread I’ve been eating it since I was little
Tastes pretty good, I just bought a package yesterday. I made toast with it today. Thanks for the information.
Cheers!! Thanks for the information. Mic.
I am trying to lose weight. Today I had 2 slices Ezekiel roast with real strawberry fruit jam.,very delicious.
Tried the sprouted and loved it. Will definitely keep buying it to help to lower LDL cholesterol because of the fiber content.
Ezekiel bread is a common bodybuilding staple. Jay Cutler is big on it. Using sprouted grains means it is tolerable by most who normally eat gluten-free. I use Angelic Brand Sprouted Grain Breads (Wisconsin). Only 60 calories a slice, high in fiber and you can pronounce all the ingredients. I never liked heavy grain breads which sprouted breads are not. If you are going to have any bread "sprouted" is the way to go.
I eat it because it has a low glycemic index and doesn't affect those with reactive hypoglycemia like regular bread does.
Had my first slice today and I am hypoglycemic and it didn't bother me. ❣
Ezekiel 4:9 KJV
[9] Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.
The Driver I heard it needs to contain human dung in the original recipe
12:You shall eat it as a barley-cake, baking it in their sight on human dung.
@@THEFIFTHDIMENTION the next verse it clear that it was symbolical of Gods disgust. And in verse 15, we see that he doesnt do it because allows him not to.
The Baddest aww. Ok I think they said is to make a fire with it to show the people that even they can eat unclean food
@@THEFIFTHDIMENTION Dried dung (usually herbivore dung like from cows or buffalo) is really good for making fires. Human dung isn't ideal, but I suppose if you were living off of Ezekiel bread, it might not be as bad. The bread normally wouldn't make contact with the dung as it would be cooked in a clay bowl or on top of a flat rock or something.

Problem is, this stuff costs 8 bucks a loaf. 10 bucks in some places. That's outrageous.
Yes but that’s the sacrifice I do God provides
This stuff makes excellent toast with a little bit of butter, great snack that is fairly healthy
I heard sprouting is also very important for nuts! What's the fastest way to sprout nuts???
you guys are awesome.
Thanks!
I have almost completely cut out bread per my doctor's instruction. I do not have a gluten intolerance or other problems, but I have lost weight not eating bread. However, there are times when I just want a good sandwich and this bread sounds like just what will work - basically high in protein. You did not mention how many carbs this has, but I will check it out when I shop next. Thank you
Karen Curry it’s bread nigga of course it’s high in carbs

u guys r awesome. helpful articles and videos. love u. ur emails r like daily gifts.
Thanks for feedback :)
This is amazing bread
I recently tried eating one piece a day of the Ezekiel Bread with breakfast every day. I liked the nutty flavor and texture, though I suffered ever increasing shoulder and neck pain, getting worse each day, until I realized the culprit. I believe that it's probably the high amount of wheat germ lectin in this bread that causes problems for me. I usually have a piece of good quality white sourdough bread with breakfast, which seems to agree with me fine, so it's not the gluten but the large am't of wheat germ in Ezekiel Bread. It would probably be ok for me to have a piece once in awhile but def. not every day.
I bought some after watching this video- I love it. It is my favorite!
Thanks for sharing your financial services........
I love this bread as toast with a smidgin of butter. Mmmm
at the end of the video you said Ezekiel is still bread and maybe not the best choice for nutrition. For a while now I always felt like I was making a healthy decision eating Ezekiel bread. just out of curiosity why do you suppose Ezekiel Bread isn't a healthy choice? Thanks for the video
That pretty out-of-context. If you're trying to lose or maintain a healthy weight, it's still not something you should eat scads of just because it's a healthier version of conventional Wonder-type or even whole wheat bread. There's nothing unhealthy about it unless you are highly gluten intolerant.
I just love Authority Nutrition ! I don't know what my life would be without it hahaha
I say the same
Is this basically what we call brown bread in england?
Maybe the slew of chemicals found in other breads is a reason to avoid them.
i reversed my prediabetes to normal a1c by cutting down a lot on sugar and white bread but not totally eliminating them. the small amount of sugar in store brand whole wheat bread doesnt bother me. also $3 vs $8 a loaf.
I have never seen this bread any where in stores.
check where the frozen breads are in the freezer section.
+Tameka Hamilton thanks, I will.
There is Ezekiel bread in Trader Joe's. They are next to the normal breads.
It is in most health food stores. Any sprouted grain breads typically spoil in less than a week. High in fiber--usually 60 calories or less per slice. Awesome breads--not a heavy bread.
It is mostly in the organic frozen section of the stores. I purchase it from Kroger's in the organic frozen section.
so is it a complex carb?
I came for the bread
Stayed for the dietician
He is Faaaaayn
Is it okay to toast it? I don't because I'm afraid it will kill some of the nutrition
No it wont kill the nutrition 😂
Is it fattening?
Does the human poop have any negative effect on the taste? If you don't know what I'm talking about read Ezekiel.
So phytic acid is a bad thing?
Nice presentation. I used to love Ezekiel 4:9 bread before diagnosis with celiac disease. Now it is out of the question. A few years ago, I ate one slice to see what would happen. Gas at both ends for 5 days and 2 hour naps each afternoon for 7 days. It does have added gluten to it as well. But it is a wonderful bread for those who can tolerate it. I am now experimenting with sourdough of GF grains to make bread, but I know most don't want to make their own breads.

Just out of curiosity, what is it about the bread that made you NAP? Gluten sensitivity? Starch?
I will eat this bread in moderation though. Surprised that it is very tasty.
Cool….this is the only bread I will eat… : D
what is your body fat % ?
How about checking out Dave's Killer Bread?
Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof.
The company that makes this bread make a gluten free version as well.
Is it any good?
I love ezekial bread and I eat a lot of it. I tried to stop eating it and cut out bread as a whole but I just love it too much. I find that ezekial bread definitely seems to have a better effect on my body compared to standard whole wheat. I also am not on a ketogenic diet so I don't care about the carbs.
There's no reason to cut it out. Ketogenic diets are completely idiotic
dj121 And unsustainable.
I bought a loaf. It brought images of peasants scooping up grains that fell from carts and torturing them into loafs.
Authority Nutrition on CZcams. Year made.
Clearly the "flourless" part is a huge marketing gimmick on the part of these breads, since all the grains are pulverized into a fine FLOUR. Therefore it is certainly not a whole food. There were no blenders 500 years ago.
Technically, you have a point. It is pulverized. But, it is pretty much what the process was 500 years ago. They did have true flour - thnk God for thre French - but it was not common to many people.
I had some of this bread for the first time today. Firstly, it does not taste anything like conventional bread. It is very dense similar to banana bread. It is very brittle so could not toast it. The taste is not bad but its not the best tasting bread I've tried. I had it with my lamb dinner, Greek salad and spinach but could not easily soak up the olive with the bread (as Greeks do). I will give it a 6/10. I will make a sandwich tomorrow with it and see how it tastes. My favourite bread is Soy and Linseed.
Nick Poulos I always toast this bread. I keep it in the freezer and then I toast it.
I have seen Ezekiel bread in the supermarket but it contains soybeans. I am trying to avoid soy. Are there any options?
Would like to know where to find this good 🍞
It's in the freezer section of most health food stores, and a surprising number of grocery stores. You can go to the Food for Life website and check for retilers in your area.
Maybe make it without the soy
They have it without soybeans now
What is the Ezekiel bread Glycemic Load
Gina like any other bread, don't eat bread
Gina ~ Go look at the video "Beating Diabetes!" channel just put up about it.
I'm addicted to the bread of the Gods.
There's only one true God. Three in one😁🙏💫
The first study said the seeds were germinated for 168 days and the second study said 9 days. Lol. Ezekiel bread is probably sprouted within 24 hours before dehydrated and ground up so can you really assume these benefits? A bit insincere :/
168 HOURS, not days! 168 days would be well on the way to harvest. Second study said 7 days for max vitamins and such. Sheesh....
Dope bread to make pb/J’s with
This is the only flavorless bread I've ever eaten.
Ezekiel breads: overly-packaged (each loaf is wrapped in two plastic bags, falls apart very easily, is almost tasteless. You would get more flavor from paper towel.
Over packaged? Please. You have to double wrap flourless bread. It doesn't keep as long. It tastes great toasted to a lot of people. That's your opinion.
@@pantera31169311 NONE of the other flour-less breads sold my local market are double-wrapped.
true and if you try folding it over a hot dog it falls apart
Yeah but is it good tasting?
Very. Great nutty flavor, and makes wonderful toast!
I want to eat healthy so I bought this bread but it taste like bitting into a cardboard
True. It’s better if you warm it up.
Looks great. Firm and dense. But...tastes like cardboard.
Patrick Reilly I got used to it. In sandwiches I use olive oil and a red wine vinaigrette to jazz up the sandwich, toasting the bread helps. I’ve learned to appreciate this bread even as toast with non salt butter. It requires getting used to. The reason one’s first impression is that it tastes like cardboard is because of the amount of sugar in other breads. The polar opposite is like having a chocolate muffin in the morning thinking that it’s heathy because it’s a muffin. No, it’s cake! 😂
Check the ingredients on the bread that you now like. You will find excessive salt and / or sugar. Eat Ezekial bread with something tasty, like avocado or hummus. Then the flavor is not an issue. My favorite sandwich is tempeh, mustard, and roasted red bell pepper. You can find jars of the peppers in many stores.
I think it's delicious
Tastes like dirt. But, it can be doctored up nicely. It's low in salt an sugar, so you have to give somewhere. Great toasted and spread with almond butter, or fried crispy in butter/olive oil and layed on with a bruschetta.
WITHOUT, A LOUFFA. ....................... VS. KRATOS.
And the rest of the starchy carbs still convert to blood sugars because they aren't sprouts. Gluten is not the only problem with bread -- starch remains the major problem that still converts to blood glucose along with the glyphosate used to harvest wheat through defoliation of the plants. Everyone will eat what they want but I eat no wheat at all. Way too much bad stuff there these days to suit me, sprouts included.
Wheat is a grass, and the grain is the seed head -- it's been hand-threshed at harvest for a few thousand years -- our ancestors didn't strip any "foliage" to harvest their wheat. I've farmed wheat commercially -- and organically -- all my life, and have neighbors who farm it conventionally. NO ONE uses glyphosate on wheat -- it's completely unnecessary and would be far too expensive if it were, wheat prices being what they are. The only thing conventional growers add is nitrogen, while I add clover to the field to supply that nitrogen naturally, and it's far cheaper, too, since the clover re-seeds itself. You must be thinking of cotton, which needs to be defoliated to harvest if it's not grown in a climate that allows that to happen naturally as part of its life cycle. Across most of the southern U.S., glyphosate's unnecessary for cotton.
We dont have this bread were i live 😕
justkeepfishing miss t you can learn to make it!
@@shanykristy hello do they give the ingredients or are they on Google. Thanks

There is some appropriate nutrition information in this video but it seems like a a fairly blatant product endorsement overall. There are many sprouted grain breads that may be a better choice for many people as they do not contain any wheat product - which has been shown to be a problem. If you are being paid to promote a particular brand then your information will be biased and should be revealed. I've followed Authority Nutrition for a while now and am mostly impressed with your info - I hope you maintain focus on research-based data and not give in to product/branding pressure.
We are independent and not paid to promote any brand or products. And even if that was the case it would be clearly disclosed to viewers
On youtube it is illegal to post videos in which you don't disclose sponsorship, you can get in very serious legal trouble for not doing so, up to 10'000 dollar fines. If it was sponsored, he would have said so, trust me.
Ezekiel bread is flour free. It's not processed at all. You also said many people are gluten sensitive which isn't true. Gluten sensitivity is extremely rare, and in most cases (75%), it is a placebo effect.
I ate it for many years. Im almost 53 now. Time to part ways. Still it spikes glucose and has added gluten which is inflammatory.. all that high carb stuff inflames your arteries and over time you get hemorrhoids, bulging varicose veins and later on cardiac events, etc... Time to say goodbye and go with very low glycemic carbs instead, like pistachios or strawberries. Or keto bread if you must and i say do it before it's too late. Damage to your blood vessels is irreversible.

It is organic and it is in a very small quantities, so not bad at all. The benefits of all the other ingredients far outweigh and minuscule downside to this bread. Eat it.
Just because they gave something a fancy healthy sounding Biblical name , doesnt mean its good for you , its not , whole grains and wheat flour along with refined white flour are bad for you, dont eat it
completely wrong. A loaf of sourdough whole grain bread and a box of whole wheat pasta a day keeps the doctor away. Nothing wrong if you don;t want to eat it, but don't say anything untrue.
Why does the Bible say this?? “You must make your bread each day. You must get dry human dung and burn it. Then you must cook the bread over this burning dung. You must eat this bread in front of the people.” Then the Lord said, “This will show that the family of Israel will eat unclean bread in foreign countries and that I am the one who forced them to leave Israel and go to those countries!””
