I know japanese in particular like their baths, but I feel like a better layout where the bath and the toilet is there, have a flat floor walk through shower area. Being ablt to walk through a shower and access the toilet from either side, makes it possible to walk all the way around. In the corner away from the door I would have a double-bed with storage beneath it, cause you always need more storage and there's no reason you cant climb into a bed that's higher up. ie swapping out the bath for a flat shower stall makes the unit easier to navigate.
I have an unrelated question! 😅 I'm a bookbinder who wants to gift-bind a Chinese fantasy novel that mentions feng shui! (and dragons and copper coins as well). Are there any feng shui principles that happen to apply to book design somehow? Like... cover design/color, the flow of the text.... Is there anything? (I already did a Chinese stab binding once! But I'm looking to do a regular case cover now) Thank you for any advice!
The only solutuon is a hammock at an angle on the larger corner and/or a laterally hinged single width murphy bed against the inner wall of the widest corridor, especially in winter to stay away from the cold windows. She needs to spray frost or insulate most of the windows to avoid blinds subtracting a single centimeter. No room for anything. Use the ceiling for storage and pulleys to bring things up and down.
I could not sleep with the bed against the window, but then again, I also could not walk close by that window. I would have to install walls on half of the windows there. There is really a housing crisis if we have to stay in places like that.
I would love to hear you talk about not having a bed, but sleeping on the floor instead, like on a thin matress or futon. Is it bad feng shui? Any tips for how to make it work well? I live in a small 25 sqm apartment and started sleeping on a matress that I just roll up and tuck under my sofa during the day. Gives me a lot more space but would still like some guidance on how to make it better 😂
Is it possible to do feng shui on just viewing the outside of the house, its environment and surroundings? My mum says the energy of her house makes her feel weak, but she'd never let someone come in and do feng shui, and I wonder what needs to be addressed in the land/location/arrangement of the house.
Could do a double bed if it's lofted, but only if the resident is petite having to walk under it several times a day. It would open up space for a garden or a bike or cat box. Possibly all 3.
The layout he did is nice, but my first step would be to install that plastic window insulation they make to mimic double paned glass, and then giant floor to ceiling blackout curtains, or maybe just straight up boards, on 70% of these windows before adding any furniture to make fake walls. I think i might leave the windows above the low counter storage he propsed for the kitchen with traditional blinds, and over the bed and maybe one side of the desk I would only board up the bottom half of the window with traditional blinds on the top half

Did you notice that the bathtub is opened to the side that has the wash basin? That's right, she can scooch around the toilet, climb over the tub wall, walk across her tub, climb out of the tub, and the basin to wash her hands is right there.
May the owners rot in hell.
@@mysticmeadowshomestead6209 my problem is with the windows 😂I can’t have ppl being able to see me waltz around my house in my pyjamas

Ukrainian Folk Song.
Plus since it’s in Japan, you can easily use a sliding door set on the interior wall to separate the sections some more ! Brilliant set up !
Love your videos Cliff! So, now you know!
I love your optimization of super small spaces ❤
The man everyone needs to consult before renting/buying a place💜💚❤💙
I'm definitely putting the bed on the center column wall for stability.
Tenent better not be throwing stones.
I wish I could see a break down of my cramped space! This is brilliant.
Or get rid of the internal walls and make it a studio apt. I like the shelving/bookcases along the windows for some privacy & storage. What a freaky space. They have a hell of a nerve charging rent for that space.
I think the internal walls are the load-bearing column for the building. It's where the staircase is.
It was set up to fail
Get...get rid of what keeps the building erect? To have an open staircase to the street and the other apartments?
I don't know if that's practical...
@@lethfuil well I don't know how practical it is to put a toilet out on a balcony and basically live on the outer edges of a building
@@SandyCheeks63564 Not very practical. But also not quite what you think it is.
The ENTIRE building is like that and JUST that.
It's an inner core (the thing that makes the building not... collapse, quite important) which also is JUST AND ONLY a stairwell. Nothing else.
The "Outer corner balcony" is all you get as "living" space, in all "apartments" of this... building.
So, the entire thing is pretty terrible, but removing"the walls" would just be sudden death.
Utopia: I have a big Balcony in my House 😊
Dystopia: I have a small House on my Balcony 🤡
I think given this is in Japan, how about a traditional futon instead of a bed? Something cut-to-size, just a bit smaller than standard so that it can still fit a (slim) couple and it can be stored during the day
You would still need some space to go to the kitchen, though.
@@jolulouloulou1908 That's why you put away a futon during the day.
Yup. I've misread the original comment. My bad ! 😂
You're so cool! Can't get enough of your videos they are so helpful!❤🎉
Hi cliff.... Many people live in tiny house on wheels. Please give us many option design where to put furniture kitchen bathroom etc with very minim space. .exp. 2.5x7m with loft ..
Thankyou.
I live in Paris, in a 31 000 inhabitants per km2 neighborhood.
There’s a building less than 10 m away from mine, with windows all along.
When I use my coffee machine I have a perfect view on my neighbor’s toilet, sometimes while he’s using it.
Well I used to, because when the last tenant left, the owner finally decided to build a small wall for intimacy.
Those situations are real !
Hahahh wanna see you challenge yourself with more of this kind of crazy apartments
My man said, "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!" 🤣🤣🤣
Gosh, those spaces are like a shop's display areas, much better than a large closet, still unbelievable comparisons
how greedy does this landlord have to be to make an apartment like that?? always amazing that you can make any space feel better but that apartment shouldn't exist in the first place
Little John can probably fit his family of 5 here with some Galvanized Steel Pipes and Eco-friendly wood veneers
I swear to god this is just better than a prison...but at least prisoners get more privacy than this.
this is a beautiful application for 3d printing ❤❤
He didn't simply master interior design, he's born with it as an inherent talent.
You are the epitome of "Designers, make it work!"
Imagine taking a "number two" (while the whole world watches) and then needing to walk through the whole house to was your hands?
You should try to furnish the house on blue lick road! It might be more of a long video though ^_^
Omg you just did the impossible ❤❤❤
I love the peace sign at the end 😂
This appartment style would work for me only if it was surrounded by a garden and some 10ft walls...
So I can take a sh*t while looking down at the peasants below. Marvelous 👏👏👏👏
This is why you don't stress out architects and engineers first thing in the morning.
I love it.
I'm mostly ticked off that this apartment even _exists_ more than anything else.
Eco Friendly wood veneer and Galvanised Steels are required
Firstly remove the original windows and use galvanized steel beams to expand the space.
Sometimes a terrible floor plan just can’t be saved
I have an unrelated question! 😅
I'm a bookbinder who wants to gift-bind a Chinese fantasy novel that mentions feng shui!
I was wondering thank you
Omg how did you manage to make this space livable 👏
After using the toilet you have to walk through all your workspace, living room, bedroom and kitchen to wash your hands.
Perhaps use the tap in the bathtub?
I'd move the basin to the toilet wall at least. Perhaps add a divider between toilet and bathtub as well.
This is like something I'd build in sims lol
I would love to hear you talk about not having a bed, but sleeping on the floor instead, like on a thin matress or futon. Is it bad feng shui? Any tips for how to make it work well? I live in a small 25 sqm apartment and started sleeping on a matress that I just roll up and tuck under my sofa during the day. Gives me a lot more space but would still like some guidance on how to make it better 😂
This is totally crazy and absurd. 😮
Who is planning this? Who approving this to build? And who is buying it???
To be honest, I love it.
Is it possible to do feng shui on just viewing the outside of the house, its environment and surroundings? My mum says the energy of her house makes her feel weak, but she'd never let someone come in and do feng shui, and I wonder what needs to be addressed in the land/location/arrangement of the house.
Please try show for a room that is a dining room. With tv room. And gym. Many people have all 3 in 1 area. And your videos are great
Could do a double bed if it's lofted, but only if the resident is petite having to walk under it several times a day. It would open up space for a garden or a bike or cat box. Possibly all 3.
You just need Galvanis Square Steel, and eco Wood Veneer 🗣️🗣️
The layout he did is nice, but my first step would be to install that plastic window insulation they make to mimic double paned glass, and then giant floor to ceiling blackout curtains, or maybe just straight up boards, on 70% of these windows before adding any furniture to make fake walls. I think i might leave the windows above the low counter storage he propsed for the kitchen with traditional blinds, and over the bed and maybe one side of the desk I would only board up the bottom half of the window with traditional blinds on the top half
Reminds me of the micro apt in tokyo where the student uses his bath as a lounge/couch. He likes baths so doesn’t mind.
Hey I love your videos, what book do you recommend to learn all this?
Why does this even exist? 😮
This reminds me of a Minecraft house that I recently built. The entire outer perimeter is a glass hallway because I'm paranoid and don't want any blindspots where enemies could be hiding. Also, I like the view.
Personally i was thinking changing the wall layout could also help
You made the best of a very very bad situation 🤭 Its almost livable now!
I have doodles like that in a notebook /mind you, without the toilet/, but I'd never thought one would build what is a caricature of a plan.
Okay, how do you make the mini furniture? I need to do this to my furniture and appliances so I can have scale models for when I need to reorganize.
