If there’s one thing I can say about David Warner is that he was never boring. No one can deny that. I’m not a reader of cricket biographies-ghosts writers give me crowsfeet deluxe; but you bet I’ll be reading David Warner’s autobiography, memoirs, diary, etc. Purely for the tea.

Love him or hate him, David Warner has lived the dream. A great Test opener and an all time great white ball batsman. This last innings epitomised his style of play, it was Warner at his best. I love the sportsmanship from the Pakistanis at the end. This is what cricket is all about. Happy retirement Davey

As someone who has played some cricket myself (wheelybin park shit with retired office men), I recognize the steuggle that Davey must have gone through to play at the highest level for 14 years. There are Dorito crumbs on my chest and I haven't had sex in six months (two and a half years)

It has warmed the cockles of my heart to hear you speak well of Shan Masood who, since he replaced a very hot favourite, hero-worshipped Babar Azam in an abrupt fashion (PCB is terrible at transitions), has been getting constant, unrelenting slagging off back home since the day he took over the captaincy. He has a good, thinking, cricketing mind and no egotistical hang-ups about learning from mistakes and changing things up. I feel Pakistans captaincy is finally in the right hands in a very long time. We didnt put up a fight in 2022 in our home series much to my frustration (and I watched every session). Playing Australia in Australia is tougher than anything, and just the fact that Pakistan put up a fight is a step in the right direction. I'd been waiting for this for SO long.

I was glad to see that the SCG today (and throughout this match) was full of real cricket fans (the sort who actually go the game as opposed to the self-professed cricket fans who spew their outrage all over the internet) and they gave Warner a grand farewell from Test cricket. I have been convinced from the beginning that Cricket Australia hung the players out to dry in South Africa in 2018. Warner with his Fox contract may never speak plainly about what happened, but once Khawaja retires he may be one to tell it how it really was….

Part of me really wanted Marnus and Smithy to run back for 2 on the last delivery. That way Marnus would have finished on 63 not out, just as Phil Hughes once did. Given it was also Davey’s last game and he was close to Phil, I think it would have added to the occasion.

Put head as the opener or marsh/maybe someone who is a bit agressive..... See Warner is agressive but Khawaja is patient... Then marnus and Smith both are patient.... Then comes mitch and head agressive then comes Carey who is passive agressive.... Then the tail didn't contribute as much with the bat because they did everything with the ball.... When aus were 16-4 then smith and Marsh balanced it one passive other aggressive.... Today Warner and marnus..... So I think instead of Smith at opener try head

In all fairness to Umpire Gough, in the LBW that was hitting top of middle stump he gave not out which PAK reviewed, during the DRS review the 3rd umpire COMPLETELY MISSED a spike on snicko as the ball feathered the bat. Fortunately it was given Umpire's Call, avoiding a big controversy had Warner been given out when he definitely wasn't, as his very last wicket.
