Honda has launched it in big wings to see the demands and latter on will be available every where. They have not made a mistake like jawa as they launched their products but could not predict its demand and therefore long waiting periods. But honda has launched in big wings so lesser demand for the product but good customer feedback and honda will get the time to match demand to supply in a better way 😊😊
As a former royal enfield fan, only one thing matters...build quality: less vibrations, no rusting and refinement for this much power. Real bikers will seek out the dealers and you can take it from there.
The CT 125 Hunter Cub also has a tool box that opens with an Alan wrench, but the ignition key also opens the seat lock which hides the Alan wrench and fuel cap. Maybe the H'ness also locks its seat to hide the Alan wrench?
I think the move of BigWing dealerships exclusively selling this helps them sell more than the motorcycle. That is the theme here. You have bluetooth, you have lighter weight to make it more manageable for first time riders who are smitten by the RE but can't tame it. And I dont think they are competing primarily with RE loyalists. At max, they will get those who like classic bikes and knew of RE only. I think Honda wants to tap those who usually do not go for RE because of the feature set or maybe the riding. I think the ride quality is going to be super fun and easy. I am not sure how comprehensive I am but this is no RE competitor. This is like a gateway to RE and classics for those who would never.
Name is fine! Honda should have bumped up the power figures to atleast 30 PS for enthusiasts to consider this bike! The usual RE fans may not consider this given their loyalty to the brand and the fact that two new motorcycles are on their way from RE stable as well! I guess Honda has missed a trick here by not outwitting the RE but only matching up! A bigger engine and more power, sub 3 lakh pricing would have lit the middle weight segment on fire! Big wing is not an issue but exclusive service is... Big wing is premium service centre so it's obvious that service price is more.. These premium service centre doesn't support 3rd party customisation...
Asheeth Kumar It is an issue. Look up how many BigWing service centers are there in your city and then look up RE's service network. Imagine riding a 100KMs just for a regular service every six or eight months.
Excellent! Finally Honda has come up with a neo retro which was being craved for long! BUT - consider this, Honda needs to expand its BigWing dealership network to a large extent. For example, Calcutta doesn't have a dealership, and the only dealership in Bengal is situated in a remote corner which is more than 500 km away from the capital. Not sure about other cities, but this is something unexplainable for me!!

I went to the honda big wing showroom last week (the only one in south India!) and raised the point about selling only in big wing. How they'd compete with RE with such less sales outlets and if the waiting period would be long. The salesman just gave an awkward smile. He knew I had a point..

In my opinion RE is still ruling that segment only because of foolish decisions of opponents. Jawa & Imperiale were strong enough to compete RE. The fuel injection pump in thunderbird 500 used to breakdown due to the tank rust and needed to be replaced in every 2 years . Will the honda 350 have same problem in future or does the honda 350 has a better fuel tank ?

Will the bluetooth connectivity option show turn by turn navigation on the instrument cluster?? Also, call & message alerts?? or is it only to pair with some bluetooth helmet?
First: I was waiting to see the black color version of this motorcycle and you have fulfilled my wish, but little disappointed coz there was very few shots of it. Second: Yes Honda should sell this in all normal showroom across the country, that way people in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities will be able to put their hands on it and that is the only solution if it wants to compete with RE. I for instance live in Tier 3 city and I am very much interested in this Honda CB350 and I am sure there are many like me, else I’ll have to wait for meteor and go with it. And I could even be influence to many enthusiasts who wants well refined RE and Honda can fulfill this wishes of the mass!

1) nobody's gonna call it highness 2) they should sell this from the regular Honda showrooms and not from big wing. 3) even if they do, in the first three years the cb 350 is not gonna beat the sales figures of the classic because RE has created some crazy fanboys. 4) the cb 350 is a really good proposition. Much needed in our market. Jawa's quality of materials is facing huge criticism. So I'm glad at least honda will be the right competitor for RE's monopoly
My first bike was a vintage 1972 CB350 Twin. I would love to have this bike just for old time's sake. Maybe they'll bring it to the US to compete with Yamaha SR400?
In theory they could -- it's Euro V compliant more or less, so Honda can choose to sell it anywhere they like. However, I suspect that exports won't start until Indian demand stabilises so that's at least a year out
Being a RE C350 owner since 2016, the honda CB350 is definitely a value for money product considering Honda's engine and reliability. Honda needs to skip the idea of sales only thru Big wing showroons. The CB350 would definitely be a game changer and a challenge to the "Highness" of the 350CC segment.

It's a beauty! The retro flavour is just spot on, because honda's history was built on these vehicles, so in that sense history's repeating!!! There are some brands that try to incorporate these elements on it's products, like Mash and try to offer that feel... but is just not the same... Hope these machines hit global markets, Portugal (Europe).
Wch one should I take. Dominor 250 or Highness 350. I need something wch is stylish yet practical. My Height is 5'10. Weight 80Kgs. I will need this to ride it daily for total 50kms.. To and fro office. Road condition are kinda good. I am based at Kolkata.
- To be fair, all the mono paint schemes (especially the red and green with contrasting seats) look better than the dual tone job. - The name is cringe-worthy and the namebadge design looks horrendous and sticks out like a sore destroying the clean look of the bike (i would remove the H'ness badge before i roll it out of the showroom). - I have never heard of the Honda Big wing store until now (another horrendous name). Even a metro like Chennai doesnt seem to have one. This and this alone is enough to stop this potential bike being a serious competitor to RE350s.
The classic era is over. Just like the Jawa, the highness will also be considered in the same category of being ignored. Honda is entering the market when people are already bored with the classics. Kuch naya lao Honda. Isse accha they should have worked to get rebel 300. Its unique design could have been a game changer.. "Big disappointment from Honda"

My heart is melting because I've been waiting for honda to launch this in India for many years!
1) nobody's gonna call it highness
2) they should sell this from the regular Honda showrooms and not from big wing.
3) even if they do, in the first three years the cb 350 is not gonna beat the sales figures of the classic because RE has created some crazy fanboys.
4) the cb 350 is a really good proposition. Much needed in our market. Jawa's quality of materials is facing huge criticism. So I'm glad at least honda will be the right competitor for RE's monopoly

My first bike was a vintage 1972 CB350 Twin. I would love to have this bike just for old time's sake. Maybe they'll bring it to the US to compete with Yamaha SR400?
In theory they could -- it's Euro V compliant more or less, so Honda can choose to sell it anywhere they like. However, I suspect that exports won't start until Indian demand stabilises so that's at least a year out

Being a RE C350 owner since 2016, the honda CB350 is definitely a value for money product considering Honda's engine and reliability. Honda needs to skip the idea of sales only thru Big wing showroons. The CB350 would definitely be a game changer and a challenge to the "Highness" of the 350CC segment.

Very well noted observation. I too get the same feel about it. It doesn't look retro. Its a 20 year old design.
It's a beauty! The retro flavour is just spot on, because honda's history was built on these vehicles, so in that sense history's repeating!!! There are some brands that try to incorporate these elements on it's products, like Mash and try to offer that feel... but is just not the same... Hope these machines hit global markets, Portugal (Europe).

- To be fair, all the mono paint schemes (especially the red and green with contrasting seats) look better than the dual tone job.
- The name is cringe-worthy and the namebadge design looks horrendous and sticks out like a sore destroying the clean look of the bike (i would remove the H'ness badge before i roll it out of the showroom).
- I have never heard of the Honda Big wing store until now (another horrendous name). Even a metro like Chennai doesnt seem to have one. This and this alone is enough to stop this potential bike being a serious competitor to RE350s.

Honda is entering the market when people are already bored with the classics. Kuch naya lao Honda. Isse accha they should have worked to get rebel 300. Its unique design could have been a game changer..
