  • The x-caliber is always a fan favorite and although It’s just been released And not many pictures are out I thought I’d make a video figuring it out which is the better bike between the two the Roscoe has always been a strong line ever since it came out a few years ago but the x-caliber still sticks around to be the best kind of all round bike especially as Roscoes develop it makes it seem like the x-caliber becoming more valuable series better value for money kind of thing.
    Keep an eye Out for the next video where I get five reasons you should buy the Roscoe eight probably the most talked about bike out there right now all right guys good luck and thank you for watching subscribe.

    What about the 2022 xcaliber 8 vs the roscoe 7? $100 dollar difference CAD. Ive got the xcaliber8 on order but with the wait I'm now second guessing myself. A bit higher part spec on xcaliber, but longer travel forks and dropper post on roscoe 7. I'm waffling hard. I also like the double through axles and modern geo on the roscoe. #torn

    I think the trek, should adopt the canyon sales system,;,only sells online....If there is in stock, the client buy, if not,,,, client buy elsewhere. This system of people being forced to add 50% of the value of the bicycle, and months after waiting, the dealer says, "nothing came"... it's a bit perverse, in my opinion....!!!... Trek is my favorite bicycle brand,,, but at this point, it's starting to be tiring, and inglorious, trying to buy a bike... there has been a side market...
    very speculative and abusive...!!! Brands should have more respect for people who only want to buy 1 bicycle , don't want speculation, ... don't want internet clicks,... just want buy a bicycle and ride...

    Main reason I didn't consider an X-Caliber is because it has a quick release rear axle versus the Roscoe's much more robust thru axle. Quick release is fine if you're riding relatively smooth cross country trails, but if you're hitting anything chunky on a regular basis, then thru axle is the only way to go.

      @Durwood71 Před 5 měsíci

      @@DD-lb8vk Yes, quick release can be reliable and durable as long as you don't push it too hard. However, I know from personal experience that chunky single track and small drops will bend quick release axles. That's why quick release was not even an option when it was time to replace my Trek Marlin 8.

    Dear Trek
    its already 2021 and you are still using a skewer at the rear while other Big brand already uses a thru axle.
    Pls do it right Next time.
    Your bike is Overpriced with a Budget/Entry Dropout quick Release skewer at the Rear.
    atleast make it Thru Axle Next time.

    • @goodluckchrisclark
      @goodluckchrisclark  Před 2 lety

      It is interesting that they choose to do a regular skewer but it's only a minor upgrade going to the through axle especially on mountain bikes it's not as noticeable so I totally understand why they do it

      @@goodluckchrisclark I disagree with You.
      Most of the Newer Hub uses Thru Axle.
      like DT Swiss 350 or Hope Pro 4.
      or any modern midrange Hub, specially Boost commonly uses Boost Thru Axle.
      For Skewer quick Release, Most of it Either Lower End or Low Quality Hub, or Old/Previews Released version.
      Thru Axle is stiffer and safer compared to Skewer.
      so i dont see it as Minor. to me for that price Range
      "Its A BIG GLAIRING Unaceptable Deal"
      Here in our country.
      Giant XTC SLR 1 is boost, Thru Axle and had Better components compared to Trek's Highest X-Caliber Series.

  • @uberfu
    @uberfu Před 8 měsíci

    Meh. You're trying to do a 1:1 comparison for 2 different bikes: Roscoe = Trail / X-Cal = XC. Geometry is different > specs are different > different use cases > different handling. It's like pondering why a drag car doesn't handle on corners well, while it out paces a track car on straight aways but then can't go off-road like a 4x4.

    • @ifitrollsrideit530

      LOL Trek used the same frame for both bikes of this vintage. The difference is head angle was down to the longer fork being 20mm longer on the Roscoe. Change the fork and get the same geometry on the X-Caliber. They're just as tough as each other because it's the same frame!
