What i dont understand is how this new EPL rule jives with the UEFA rule that says you can only spend XX% of your revenue to be eligible for European competitions.
As the end of road looms for clubs that creamed it under the old rules, because the new rules will start to affect more than just Forest and Everton in the next few years, it's all conveniently become a case of "oh well, let's just tax those that overspend". So yes, quite obviously done to prop up the big 6 but in doing so, they're opening the door wide open to us.
Man City didn't have 'so many years' to buy who they want! The FFP rules were brought in just 1 year after citys first title win. Have you forgot the 90's when you geordies were spending more money than everyone else and still won nothing?
Would be nice if the Lux tax then was given to EFL league 1 and 2 and the none league teams, and maybe grass roots, my kids un15 England FA registered team team struggled for a sponsor this season to get new shirts and kits
If they bring in that sponsorship rule where owners aren’t allowed to basically sponsor themselves, that’s easy to get around. We simply sponsor Man City, and Man City sponsor us. This would only work with two wealthy owners, which us and Man City have.
The rules have definitely been changed to make up for the league not having the balls to relegate City and Chelsea for their breaches. Although in theory because those investigations have already begun, surely they should be tried on the old rules? Just looks like a cop out to me!
id be ok with it as long as man city get punished for the rules they did break when FFP was in place otherwise its lke saying yeah we know you cheated for the past 6-7 years but dont worry about it nothings going to happen because the rules have changed now, in my opinion they still need punishing for the rules they did break especially when everton and forest were punished when the rules were in effect, otherwise surely everton and forest can take this to the courts and sue for unfair treatment.
Amanda Staveley will sell her share of the club to the PIF eventually, her job is to operate the club and to control the infrastructure while making a profit on her share

The idea of buying a new team & taking the financial hit though doesn't really appeal to me. After all, isn't that what Chelsea did last summer? Evolution, not revolution. Then again 4 or 5 players valued at £70 million each this summer would be nice.....😀

All this means is Newcastle and City can spend billions a season whilst everyone else can’t, as they aren’t owned by countries. Time will come when fans won’t respect what certain clubs win as they will see it as just bought and not earned. It may even put more fans off football.
Yeah that is correct, I have a follow up video up at 9am covering UEFA FFP guidelines after researching into previous bans issued to football clubs that breaches laws
It’s a rubbish report that is being leapt on. The idea is being thrown about but the FA will adopt a model closer to UEFAs model otherwise English teams can’t compete in European competitions
I have a follow up video looking into UEFA’s guidelines, my prediction is that eventually they will attempt to introduce Saudi teams into the competition which will damage the integrity of the game. Otherwise, they will continue to lose the best players as countries outside of Europe are buying out the market
I have to admit Adam that I don’t think the Saudi league will last very long under the current model. While they have the money to run longer than the Chinese league and the old American league. If they want a sustainable league buying the odd superstar won’t work, especially if they want to join the champions league.
Just like everything else in this country NO real punishment for breaking the" law" in this case the cowards change the rules. Deduction of points and or demotion are the only things that really HIT offenders. Same as jail is the only thing that really hits criminals.
FFP was brought in to stop owners from spending money they don’t have and if they ever left the club they could go bust. A don’t know why the premier league don’t say if owners want to spend what they want they have to have the amount of debt in a fund so that if they ever left the club the money is there to pay the debt. So if the club goes out and spends 500 million in players and the clubs spend in debt is 350 million they need to put that amount in a fund . When the debt is lower and the clubs finances start to grow the premier league pay back the amount it’s grew
Is a fine a punishment and deterrent not to break the rules? lol it will allow smaller clubs get into debt and I can see clubs struggling financially especially the relegated clubs. This will not be a fare league if this happens. Obviously it helps us and our spending power and clubs with rich owners.
It’s a punishment that helps out smaller teams but still in our point of view, would be worth taking the fine as you would have to divide that between 19 different clubs
@@AdamPearson1242 what if smaller teams spend loads to stay in the league, take the fine but can’t pay the fine or pays it and gets them more in debt? We all know probably top 8 will abuse the rules lol
@AdamPearson1242 hypothetically speaking if Nufc and Villa who can both afford to rebuild their squads and want to spend like Chelsea did then they would take the fine on the chin and share it out with the other 18 clubs though i think 7 or 8 teams would probably overspend then it would be even more money for the teams that can't and it could potentially help the EFL too
@@NorthernIrishMag you really think the greedy FA will share the money out? They will agree to this as benefits the FA with all the money they get from fines.

So, basically ffp doesn't matter anymore, do what's the point in having it? The fines will have to be huge to affect a team, basically spend whatever you want without much of punishment. It's ruining the game and letting teams pretty much cheat.
FFP for me doesn’t work in the first place, it restricts smaller teams from spending what they want while the bigger clubs are still able to spend way more than the rest of the league

Looking to american sports for inspiration on solving the FFP problem makes no sense. American sports function on an Equity system, Equity never works and it's one of the reason American sports are not very popular outside of America. They're corporate money leagues with no relegation/promotion, they function completely differently and what works there, will not work in a 'equal opportunities' league system. FFP the way it works especially since the TV rights were changed to benefit those at the top of the league is already destroying what the league system is meant to be about. Taking inspiration from America is to move further and further away from what makes Football a good game, it's all about profit rather than letting anyone rise up from nothing to the top. Salary caps will prevent teams from growing even more than FFP, it will prevent us from being able to bring stars in in the future, and that's the main reason the lower half of the table owners want it, because they don't understand the game and there's too many american owners now ruining the sanctity of football and trying to take over.
Just type Premier League FFP into google and you will see it everywhere, have a look into it yourself and make your own conclusions if you feel like I am just looking for clicks
It's not City's fault for being too rich too quick before the FA realised that its unfair. Same with Chelsea, although they really messed up with their recruitment. If you have money to spend, then we should be able to spend it. Take a financial hit. Should never be a season defining points deduction through.
to me this reads as the stricter ffp rules basically screwed man city and were gonna send em down, people werent happy with them because already established teams got an unfair advantage. So instead of punishing the prems biggest team rn, or coming up with a real solution by reworking ffp to be fair, they instead made it so everyone should break the rules and get rich owners, aaand theyll make tons of money in fines from it all. They accepted that the current system is broken and decided to at least make some money off it.@@JS-wt3vq

I think a spending splurge from PIF is highly unlikely, spend yes - huge spend, probably not. The reason is that anything PIF put in would ordinarily have to be matched pro-rata by other shareholders. I've seen no evidence that either Staveley or Rueben are ready to dig deep. Indeed, AS is always very clear in interviews that NUFC's growth will be organic, not driven by owner spending because she doesn't have that level of funding available
Amanda Staveley will eventually sell her share of the club to the PIF, she will still operate the club as she has been doing but she won’t do any of the spending. I would agree with you that the club won’t take the mick with spending but I would back them to spend more than they are supposed to with the new changes

What about points deduction it could kick in
Man City didn't have 'so many years' to buy who they want! The FFP rules were brought in just 1 year after citys first title win. Have you forgot the 90's when you geordies were spending more money than everyone else and still won nothing?
As long as we can spend money the squad is poor.. There's a lot of dead wood... Ritchie dummett lascelles dubravka plenty space for fresh talent 👍

Top vid Adam 👍⚫⚪
Appreciate it mate I hope you have been well
Would be nice if the Lux tax then was given to EFL league 1 and 2 and the none league teams, and maybe grass roots, my kids un15 England FA registered team team struggled for a sponsor this season to get new shirts and kits
If they bring in that sponsorship rule where owners aren’t allowed to basically sponsor themselves, that’s easy to get around. We simply sponsor Man City, and Man City sponsor us.
This would only work with two wealthy owners, which us and Man City have.
”Heeey guys.”
Sorry but ffp does work
It does exactly what they designed it to do
Protect the greedy six (in the uk) and the richest clubs in europe
Yeah it is true in that aspect, well said 👏🏻
The rules have definitely been changed to make up for the league not having the balls to relegate City and Chelsea for their breaches.
Sounds brilliant but it’s not just our mega rich owners money it’s also stavely and ruebans money
Amanda Staveley will sell her share of the club to the PIF eventually, her job is to operate the club and to control the infrastructure while making a profit on her share
Cheers for the news update adam . Im gonna upset the kiddies by being 1st
Appreciate the comment hahaha I hope you have been well 👍
I rather like these new proposals. Punishing clubs for trying to compete seems daft, can't help but feel sorry for Notts Forest & Everton. The idea of buying a new team & taking the financial hit though doesn't really appeal to me. After all, isn't that what Chelsea did last summer? Evolution, not revolution. Then again 4 or 5 players valued at £70 million each this summer would be nice.....😀
Call it a Tax then
This new change will not serve the purpose as the teams that have the money will spend, buy all the best players and create a gap with the ones that dont have the money,
One word OSIMHEN
No Isaks better and there’s no way we’ll have a £70m+ player on the bench
Hopefully we'll have several £70million players on the bench! In place of the dummetts and ritchies
Good player, Isak is class though I think we just need a decent back up striker and much better players around the pitch
@AdamPearson1242 after today's news hopefully we can bring in a couple of top quality strikers. Plus midfielders. Plus defenders. And please please please, a right winger
I was reading that the money fined will go to teams with less money in the Prem and down the EFL
That is a good idea, still worth it for us as the fine would be split across several teams meaning it won’t make a major difference
Points deductions would still remain. You've got ahead of yourself.
No it doesn’t remain, the new rule would abolish points deduction
Great removing comments isn't? Mike Keegan's reply to his own tweet tells you the PROPOSAL would still keep points deductions. Independent regulator says NO btw. @@AdamPearson1242
Just in time for Man City and Chelsea to get away with it
At the very least, we won’t be forced to sell the likes of Isak and Bruno simply to adhere to the FFP rules.
Yes that is a major factor that will ease pressure off us to operate
Is this from now or being brought in at some stage
Brought in at some stage but the teams have reportedly agreed to the change
2 year at least they reckon before this goes ahead if agreed.
All this means is Newcastle and City can spend billions a season whilst everyone else can’t, as they aren’t owned by countries.
Time will come when fans won’t respect what certain clubs win as they will see it as just bought and not earned. It may even put more fans off football.
does this increase or decrease the chances of Bruno staying
Increase
Just protects the rich clubs
We would still if have European aspirations have to adhere to UEFA
I'm a big fan ❤❤❤ come on the geordies have you ever seen a mackem in Milan have you ever seen a mackem ever seen mackem in Milan have you f...
I've been subscribed for 2 years
FFP was brought in to stop owners from spending money they don’t have and if they ever left the club they could go bust.
Joke!
Fining a club for financial cheating is a joke.
Points deduction is the only penalty that works.
Thanks for heads up good nooz all day long! ❤ 🖤🤍
Of course John enjoy the rest of your day
Is a fine a punishment and deterrent not to break the rules? lol it will allow smaller clubs get into debt and I can see clubs struggling financially especially the relegated clubs. This will not be a fare league if this happens. Obviously it helps us and our spending power and clubs with rich owners.
Fine the clubs that overspend and divide the money out between the clubs that dont
Thank god there getting rid of points deduction I was worried for man shitty
Go get osimhen and chiesa before chelsea does ?????????
Deffo brought in for City and Chelsea, us benefitting is a side effect of protecting the big clubs
Talksport this afternoon saying newcastle have got to sell bruno or isak this summer. Them pundits really want our players on their teams. Jealous or what? They do my head in talking bollocks about the top teams.
They don’t have to anyway if nothing changed this summer, you can still get around it with some smaller player sales
@@AdamPearson1242 Exactly 👍
So, basically ffp doesn't matter anymore, do what's the point in having it? The fines will have to be huge to affect a team, basically spend whatever you want without much of punishment. It's ruining the game and letting teams pretty much cheat.
FFP for me doesn’t work in the first place, it restricts smaller teams from spending what they want while the bigger clubs are still able to spend way more than the rest of the league
@@AdamPearson1242 my point is mate, a fine is nothing... There are no consequences basically for it. There has to be a fair rule between all teams, to say how much is fair? I agree, the small teams don't have a chance against the city's n arsenal s etc, but now it's going to be even bigger gap between them. It's not fair for promoted teams either from the championship, how is that going to be fair for them?? I'm sorry mate, but imo... The premier league is done now because of money and allowing teams to basically do what they want.
Points deduction will still be retained..👀😉
Be pointless as UEFA rules are different so wouldn’t be able to compete in Europe. Think it’s a nothing rumour

Has this been passed by the Premier League or just newspaper talk ?
Haven't seen anything on mainstream media
Me neither, must be for hits lol
Just type Premier League FFP into google and you will see it everywhere, have a look into it yourself and make your own conclusions if you feel like I am just looking for clicks
They are not talking about FFP before you start getting to happy wor lad 🤣🤣🤣
115 reasons why ?
Time to use Dad's credit card
🤑
You talking as if it's all been agreed and is going to happen which is not the case.
Could be good for us, but its an absolute joke for fairness tbh… man city will never be punished
It's not City's fault for being too rich too quick before the FA realised that its unfair. Same with Chelsea, although they really messed up with their recruitment. If you have money to spend, then we should be able to spend it. Take a financial hit. Should never be a season defining points deduction through.
Though*
to me this reads as the stricter ffp rules basically screwed man city and were gonna send em down, people werent happy with them because already established teams got an unfair advantage.
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. They’ve only changed the rules because Man City are in trouble 🤦♂️
It looks dodgy, Manchester City charges will still be based on the old rules though so they haven’t got out of it just yet
To late for us Everton hope Newcastle spend they trying to protect the sly 6 the premier league corrupt
I would of thought Everton would receive some form of compensation, legally you would surely be looking into that aswell
Do you think our owners got where they are today buy chucking money away needlessly?
So inaccurate! Spend the money to get on with it but be banned from Europe. That isn’t going to work.
I have a follow up video at 9am based on UEFA and what would happen to Newcastle United in UEFA competitions if they were to heavily exceed FFP allowance in the Premier League
so..... you've not been profitable!!! your punishment is a fine..... which means you spend more...... makes sense.....
does man city owners own the people who make these decisions because they should be punished for there spending's everyone else has it looks suss
Manchester City are only 1 of the 17 reported teams that are in favour of the FFP changes
Changes nothing
So fat cashley buys a club and uses it as a sponsor for his own businesses i don't see what the difference is.with that and pif using pif owned companies for sponsor
Yeah that is a valid point, shows the clubs voting for it just because it would damage us
So what’s the point this makes no sense except a big two fingers to everyone absolute joke
