    Declutter by degree of passion for the project? Wow! My ahh-ha moment. Thanks much for this inspiring video.

    My problem is my entire house is my studio! I see the possibilities everywhere. I think an entire focal wall that is beaded in my bedroom would be amazing!

    I want to thank you for this video. Up until now any craft declutter video just wasn't cutting it for me. Like you said, "do you genuinely like the item?" and "will you use it?" are so tricky when it comes to craft supplies. And also, most people seem to think that people have one creative hobby, whereas often times creative people have many. So I'm very very grateful for your in-depth take on this. I'm excited to put some new insights into practice. And I also wanted to say, should you feel like you have more on this topic, I would absolutely love a part 2! :)

    I also stored a bee in a box in my refrigerator for the longest time! From one artist to another I can relate. 😉

      My family is also very artistic as well as science-minded and for a period of time, there was an array of frozen insects in baggies and jars in a row in the freezer right next to the bags of frozen veggies. Several years after the science was done and the art was made, we finally had to admit that our interests were elsewhere now and the freezer was again just for food!

    What is an Antilles Heel??

    • @TheClutterFairy
      @TheClutterFairy  Před 3 lety +2

      “Achilles’ heel” is a weakness that stands out in an otherwise strong person. It comes from the legend that the Greek hero Achilles’ mother dipped him as a baby in the river Styx to make him invulnerable, but she held him by the heel. The legend says that he died from an arrow (perhaps poisoned) that was shot into that heel.

    Gardeners. We keep excess stuff for years, just in case we might use it in our gardens.. plastic tubs, trays, pots, pails, glass jars, etc. This week I reclaimed 1/4 of my basement by recycling most old gardening items and moving only the best to the garage. This will force me to use up all the now garage-stored gardening items by winter, or I will not be able to fit my car in the garage when it starts snowing. And how ironic that I was wasting my valuable basement space INSIDE my house, to store old gardening things that were to be used OUTSIDE the house.

    My main crafting & storage room is upstairs but lately I have had trouble going up and down stairs. Therefore, I have several little 3-tiered carts downstairs that I keep a few of my card making supplies on that can be wheeled to the dining room table for crafting and then wheeled back into my little corner in my spare bedroom. It works for me.

    I just watched a video of yours from 3 years ago, it was helpful. I have a question. I just bought a new home for the first time. Its bigger than my current rental and I really don’t have much other than miss matched things that have been donated to me due to losing everything a few years ago. I have held onto some things that have value to me. Its hard to let go of things after losing everything twice in my life. However many places wont take donations due to covid. But I have a lot of things of my daughters that she outgrew and baby items that I no longer need. Do you have any suggestions on how to get rid of this baby furniture and items without just taking them all to the dump? Its all really nice things and I know someone could get good use out of it and save them the money of having to purchase these things new.

      @TheDriftwoodlover Před 3 lety +3

      You could use FB marketplace, craigslist, freecycle or buynothing group and offer them free. The tough part with that is if you’re in an apartment you probably can’t leave them outside and probably don’t want to let strangers into your home. Another possibility is to call churches in the area and ask if they know of someone who could use them and take them.
