Thanks for the Vid. My wife and I did the Holland Track in Christmas 2008 in a D22 Nissan Navara. It's a very isolated part of Australia indeed. This brings back some good memories.

My wife and I did the Holland around this time last year, by ourselves in our Colorado. Loved it. The problem with going a bit faster on the better parts of the track is the risk of staking a tyre on tree roots that stick out on the edge of the track. I destroyed a BFG K02.

For the Washboards, dropping your tire pressure another 10-15 psi will help a lot (you've got enough sidewall). To help protect your windows add grates or a trim with a ramped leading edge. Love the videos, keep them coming.

You can put protective film on the windows, a bit like tint on the outside. Another channel with a mog put and piece of small channel on each side of the window and fitted a slide in piece of canvas to protect against trees. " Unimog Adventures "

A suggestion… Put some clear film (PPF) on the windows to protect against the pin strips, also make some aluminum window covers that are hinged at the top so act like sun shades when up and keep the sun out plus are a real robust guard against damage and good for security 👍

You have to replace the windows with those used by the UNICAT camper truck brand. They are made of glass, and the glass is a little behind without protruding. On the other hand, protection bars must be installed on the entire front part of the housing module, so that the trees do not damage it. another improvement is to move the spare tire location to the rear, so you can install a new water or fuel tank where it is now. but I guess the little MOG is not finished yet. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Greetings from Spain.

Chris I'm picturing an extra piece of aluminum running along the top of the box and overhanging the edge and few centimeters or so to hold the branches away from the side. Also maybe and angle piece attached above and below the window to help hold limbs away. Maybe detachable cables like guys run from the fenders of a jeep to the rack, but in your case the cab roof to the box corner. They could clip to the piece I suggest adding... unclip them when not on a tight track.

Nice to see you doing a good walkaround check 1st thing. Mint driving through the tight bits👍🏻

I have a large 500mm blade on mine, which may be a bit too big and dangerous. They are amazing and will cut what you had in this video with a couple of strokes. Thanks for watching Grant! We can reach our windows with our telescopic ladder so that's not an issue :)

Iam looking at glass windows for my truck to stop scratches. There not cheap but it's what all big companies use. Bars on the roof a must mine saves my solar from been ripped off.

To solve your window scratching, I've seen another mog owner that made up canvas covers to cover the windows. The canvas fits into sail track mounted top and bottom of the windows. Seems to work for them.

Have you guys thought of adding some protective piping / cab sliders ( got no idea what they call it)that will protect your cabin in the back from the trees. a 4x4 would have these run between his front and rear bar along the side to protect his panels. if you run them from the chassis up and around the box. just for a bit of peace of mind.

Hey mate love the mog and vids, but a heads up a lot of truckers have bad knees and ankle from jumping constantly of the their truck no matter the height. It’s just that constant impact over time. Maybe that’s what flatting up your ankle cheers

Hi Chris and Ange, absolutely love watching your videos, we are in the process of sell up and getting ready to go on the road for the next couple of years, I have a couple Thunder 15000kg snatch straps that I bought thinking it would be good for ute and camper recovery, but I now realise that it’s too large for our dual cab 4wd, been trying to sell, but would like to give to you guys as a gift, never been used, 2 in total more suitable for your vehicle, if you are interested please send a personal message and i will drop them in the post, keep producing great content

Slow going tracks…. 40km in a day sounds not too bad…. I had (in a normal 4wd) 1st low idle for 6 days because of corrugations, 2 days for a normally 2hr run due to water and others. Don’t let that get you down, it’s part of it and sometimes leads to awesome experiences you’d otherwise miss.
Guess the only real concern would be did you use 40km worth of fuel or a day’s worth of fuel?
What I’ve seen in other videos is that the scrub bars from bonnet to cab roof + bars around the box roof seem to work well. The branches kind of get deflected early and then pushed along to the roof bars, giving them not much opportunity to touch the box.
There’s a video of a Mog going the Canning Stock Route on CZcams that shows it nicely. I did those narrow sections in a Patrol and it took a beating, but that Mog seemed to go through fine.

Nice job slow going in the mog! Time to smell the scenery 👌👍
You need to get yourselves a silky hand saw. Way better than the bow saw. Flip out blade so it's very compact and there are bigger ones like the big boy for bigger branches but that's probably where the chainsaw comes in. What size chainsaw do you have? Been thinking about a Makita for a while now . . .
    Keep on truckin 👌👍😎

Would running some limb risers (line) from the top corners of the cab to top corners of the box help deflect brush?

Avoid jumping out of mog or you'll end up having a double knee reconstruction like many truck drivers.
