My best memory of my Grandmother was when she recognized me after two years of not knowing who I was!!! It’s something I will cherish forever! Savor every moment and God bless you all! ❤❤❤
My grandma has dementia. Even when her brain forgets, her heart will never forget. Just be in her world with her, even when she’s wrong or confused. She’s lucky to have you!
My great grandma recently passed after suffering dementia. The most touching thing was one of the very last times I saw her before her passing (covid kept me from visiting a bit more often) she had already gone completely blind in both eyes. She reached for and took my hands in hers and kept telling me over and over again how beautiful I was. I was pretty close to her my whole life despite only seeing her sparcely. Rest in peace grandma tutu
100%. My grandma who i was close with my whole life has no idea who i am anymore, the dementia started when i was pregnant and she was so excited to meet her great grand baby. By the time he was born she had no idea who he was. I saw her recently (sadly i live in another state) the love she had in her eyes for my son and she was worried about him running around the nursing home incase he got hurt and when i told her i loved her i could tell she meant it when she said it back even though she was looking at me like she was wondering who i was
@@cake94309my great Aunt has it as well, she’s like my 3rd grandma tho, used to come to our house every Tuesday and me and my siblings would have double sleepovers at her and my great uncles house, now she doesn’t remember any of us but I’m glad we got to spend that time with her when she was still so bubbly and lively 💗
My grandmother who practically raised me has no idea who I am anymore. When she met her granddaughter all she could say was “baby, what a pretty baby”. She’s no longer speaking much but one of the last things she told me was that she wished she had more time to get to know me because I seemed like such a sweet girl. Enjoy these times as much as you can, even through the heartbreak.

Wat scares me the most is how fast it can all be, one month you're moving them into your place to take care of them, the next month they're lying in a hospice bed at death's door. It's hard to see someone you love slowly deteriorate like that
Having just lost my mother to cancer after 15 years of gruelling treatments and deterioration, I completely agree. I actually don't really know who I am anymore without my caring role. All kinds of loss associated with it. 😞

What's really interesting is you talking to the camera is assisting your grandmother in thinking that there's things going on around her so she feels warm and protected, loved like the action is around her and when she addresses you she feels like everything has stopped to listen to her. You are such a warm soul. Both of you.❤

I'm so sorry to hear this. The hardest thing you can go through while taking care of a grandparent is when they start to lose themselves. As someone who took care of their grandmother until she died in 2021, watching her struggle with dementia was very painful; you are literally losing them in slow motion. My prayers are with you and your family.
The sad part is that this might not be dementia. Reason being it could be paranoid because she's scared of being left alone when she dies. Could have been caused by stress but the way he deal with her I think there's no way. The othere thing is it might be is a traumatic event that happened. But it does have similar signs of dementia. The only reason I know about this is that I have a great aunt who is paranoid she doesn't forget she hides info because she doesn't trust anyone it's just as bad to watch as dementia that I saw in my grandmother that's why I don't want to see my aunt in that state.
Wow, what a beautiful comment. I agree, He truly is a gift to this world and to his grandmother.. without her, he would not be here. She loves her grandson and he loves his grandma. What a lovely family.
Kids who take care of their elders like this are real heroes. It's very hard to watch a loved one decline and to take care of them too. It's not an easy job.
Wat scares me the most is how fast it can all be, one month you're moving them into your place to take care of them, the next month they're lying in a hospice bed at death's door. It's hard to see someone you love slowly deteriorate like that
But why's he talking about her like she isn't right there lol 😂
@@ande6372She doesn't properly know english.
Having just lost my mother to cancer after 15 years of gruelling treatments and deterioration, I completely agree. I actually don't really know who I am anymore without my caring role. All kinds of loss associated with it. 😞
Thank you!❤ I've taken care of both my grandma (Alzheimer's+dementia) and my dad (who passed away from generalised cancer last year).
That woman must've been a spectacular mother and grandmother. She receives so much love and top notch care.
Hop she has better days. So ,beautiful how much love is in the room. May GOD and his angels be there as well. I bet she always was a sweet lady. I am thankful you have this chance of a lifetime to know her so well. You are her angel as well. Have wonderful days, make lots of memories. Sending good days!😊
How blessed is Grandma in her twilight years she feels the love of those around her.❤
I miss grandma, hearing her voice. She's so appreciative of you. 😢
I'm sorry Chris. It can be tough when they forget who we are but remember it's only a forgotten path in her brain, you'll always be in her heart
I love this 🥰 thank you 🥲
Started crying after she said that she was so happy that you were all together. Reminded me of my grandma. Rest in peace grandma.

My grandma recently passed away due to Alzheimers and it is a ghastly thing to watch someone go through. To anyone out there, cherish the time you have left with your loved ones. You never know when that time will be over.

“I’m so happy we’re all together” was so wholesome
It makes all the difference in the world to spend this time with your Grandma. I took care of my mother who had dementia for five years when COVID came, and the nursing home kept 😅her away from me when she broke her hip. It was heartbreaking to see the speed of her decline when she was denied family. We were very fortunate to get her home for the last 4 months of her life!
Such a wonderful grandson
so beautiful how you are taking care of her, so gentle and respectful, she is blessed ❤

You can die becuase of dementia?❤
@unikorngirl5129 Yes because it is basically a sickness that makes you forget stuff like Littles that turn into big things like your sight, hearing, and then your breathing
Not only is he cherishing his time, he’s embracing it by actually being her full time care-taker and spending every waking moment with her. He’s a good grandson.

The miracle of feelings and emotions when we are able to experience the scope and range of loving a not-so-totally-strange someone quite profoundly even from afar. Then we realize what should be and shouldn't be. And then be able to express the value and importance of family.

I’m so sorry my mom had signs of dementia prior to passing. Looking at the woman who gave you life and not knowing who you are is heartbreaking. Appreciate grandma on all the days you have. 💖👑💝
If my mother knew english I would think this was her comment😅
(You just described her experiences)
❤❤
The sad part is that this might not be dementia. Reason being it could be paranoid because she's scared of being left alone when she dies. Could have been caused by stress but the way he deal with her I think there's no way. The othere thing is it might be is a traumatic event that happened. But it does have similar signs of dementia. The only reason I know about this is that I have a great aunt who is paranoid she doesn't forget she hides info because she doesn't trust anyone it's just as bad to watch as dementia that I saw in my grandmother that's why I don't want to see my aunt in that state.

@@atrias144 Nothing wrong with the use of the word 'man' in the poster's comment. It had nothing to do with what is between his legs. The statement probably was differentiating between the number of men vs the number of women that are caretakers of the elderly. I'd venture a guess it's women. And that word is still acceptable to most people. Yes, he's a good person but he is also a good man. Either phrase works.
