- Come join us for the biggest bbq grill in all of Argentina as we feast on an epic Argentine asado in Cholila, Chubut, Patagonia. Known locally as the fiesta nacional del asado (the Argentine National Asado Festival) this annual event in Patagonia packs in thousands for the biggest lamb barbecue in the country. Aside from just meat there is gaucho rodeo, live entertainment and music, shopping stands and food stalls for all to enjoy.
If you're looking for something epic to do in Argentina consider attending the Argentine Asado Festival in Cholila for a once in a lifetime experience. When it comes to the best bbq in the world, in my opinion, Argentina reigns supreme. As much as you'll enjoy all of the tasty bbq it is the atmosphere of this event that truly makes it special. Bonus tip: If you're thinking of going to an Argentine Asado be sure to bring a big appetite!

BIGGEST BBQ GRILL IN ARGENTINA! 🇦🇷 | Epic Argentine Asado Festival in Patagonia:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine.
From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut.
While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.

@Zachariah Gerardo Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Zachariah Gerardo it worked and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account :D
The irony is even if it weren't for the spectacular scenic views everywhere, and so much to see & do in Patagonia, you guys make the trip seem more than worthwhile for the food alone! Loved all the meals in El Bolson, and now this incredible BBQ! It doesn't get any better than this! Thanks!
Thank you very much! I think most people come for the scenery and the adventure but pleasantly surprised by the food.

I just went out to an Argentinian restaurant for lunch, in the middle of your video...
That is so cool to hear! What did you have?
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos Lunch Special Mixed Asado. There’s this cool Argentinean restaurant called Choripan in Hackensack, NJ. I was watching you guys while waiting at the court house as one of the potential jurors... Made my otherwise boring day filled with Smokey chunks of meat today. :-)
czcams.com/video/pPcGmFZML3M/video.htmlsi=2qFkRPnrA_Kj3nQ_
In addition to the quality of the meat, there are additional reasons why the meat tastes good. The taste resulting from the smoke, and roasting the meat for a long time at a relatively low temperature. This is done in the kitchen using a method called SOUSVIDE
Thanks for explaining that!
whoa finally the Asado Festival! we heard this a lot from our Argentinian friends and yes finally see how awesome is this festival for your video! :)
Thank you very much AnS!
MUY BUENO CHICOS
Really like the feast. Thanks. Valentino has very nice smile at 6.58 :-) Thanks again.
Thank you! So nice of him to take us there.
@@samuelandaudrey Hope you guys will cover Ushuaia too. I am very curious about this city. Thanks.
Argentina is my new favorite country! The beauty of Patagonia and especially the people, they are happy, friendly and fun! You will find that as far as an asado goes, Argentinians prefer their meat more on the medium well side. Can't wait to go back! Delicioso!
First to comment been a while great vlog

What a great event and trip. When does this event take place?
The dates vary slightly every year, but it's usually end of January or early February.
Este es un evento que ocurre todos los años, puedes decirme cuándo y dónde sucede. Me gustaria participar. Gracias por muestrarme!
La fechas varían cada año, pero suele ser entre fines de Enero o principios de Febrero (aunque el año pasado fue en Marzo).
Here says it's set to 12-14 FEB 2021 but i assume it could change depending on how things evolve about covid, or even, hope not, being cancelled. Saludos!

6:40 Here we go. The thumbnail. Just like Goofy in Saludos Amigos. 1, 2, bite, cut, chew.
Muuy bueno audrey !! , Soy yo o samual se esta cuidando con las comidas ??
Gracias!
Interesting how they BBQ'd all that meat with that spread-out setup. Looked like quite a different experience. I don't think they do anything like that in Canada.
Thanks Bernard! Nothing like this in Canada that I'm aware of.
jajaja no amigo esos precios jajaj que recuerdos
guys, i live in argentina but i love country music, please, whats the name of the song in the beginning?? good video..very fun, but i feel hungry when i see people eat lot of asado!!!
Oh my god, these lines of Asado reminded me of the Boltons from Game of Thrones.
I have so much respect for the gauchos preparing it. I almost got roasted filming it.
Have y'all ever been to Mendoza?
We sure have! Those videos should be coming out sometime next month.
You should buy you a cutlery to go :)
That is true Anni!
Thank you for making good movies on CZcams all the time.
The translation app is translating things in a strange way.
Thank you very much!
I'm Japanese.
I really am bad at English sorry.
but,Love all your pics! Can't wait to see what's next!
👍
What is that metal crucifix holding the meat called?
As you say it is called cruz (cross) and the type of cooking when used is "al asador", for example cordero (lamb)al asador.
6:39 One, Two, Bite, Cut, Chew. Seriously, I thought Saludos Amigos film made that stuff up about Asado or Argentine Barbecue as a sport.
At 100 pesos per order you could stuff your face for CAD $10 and still wouldn't be able to eat it all. Ok, for Audrey it may take $20 and a giant sandwich left over from breakfast, but still, that's pretty good value! Love these videos guys keep 'em coming!
Thank yoU! The value was incredible.
Audrey y Samuel. Tengo que mostrar asado argentino a publico ruso. Por favor pasen me links de videos suyos hablados en ingles que muestren asados, videos cortos en lo posible. Gracias
When is this festival?
Usually in February. Just to be sure, look up 'Fiesta Nacional del Asado' since the dates could shift a bit year to year.
come and eat at argentino doc roveredo in piano italy it is the best
5:58 el bananero soy io!
Great vids .. what happened to Rob shabl
Thanks Freddy! I believe he's been in Bali for quite some time. I don't think he's filming these days.
Thanks Sam . Always look forward to you and Audrey next video 😊
Meat heaven 😋
Indeed!
А ведь клаССно, и Где меня черти носят?
paragonia Argentina !
@@marcelorobles923 Может PATAGONIA?😁
Isn't this footage from 2017?
Nope, we attended the festival last year so 2019.
If this video does not make you vegan then nothing does lol
Soyboy
I dont know why youre using utensils at all when eating ribs lol
Did i see 350$ and 100$ meal prices ?
The prices are in Argentine Pesos. This was a few years back, so because of inflation, the value would no longer be the same.
So dry and so chewy
*Hallo* wieder ein tolles Video das du hochgeladen hast .Gebe dir wieder gerne meine Unterstützung Freund .Daumen nach oben ist da .

Why do the gaucho carry their knife behind the back and not on the hip or appendex carry?
As a horseman, whose also rode rodeo, If falling off a horse I'd imagine it would be more injurious to land on a knife handle on my lumbar spine.
cordero is goat
Eating like this everybody after years have hard problem remind you people die for a heart attack!!
?
?
Wish Argentina had a Donald Trump who would root out the corruption.
Enjoyed this video like all your others but thought I'd point out a few disturbing things you captured , probably without being aware of it, when showing some of the culture at these asados in Argentina.
Having done some research about the pain a horse feels when being ridden with a bit even so called "horse lovers" and riders don't think about, those poor horses you showed looked like they were writhing in agony during those "games" after the asado. This short video (ignore the introduction for Vegans given in the first minute about why a horse shouldn't be ridden at all) has some really good info about the physiological effects a horse goes through when being ridden with a bit and how it reacts. Horse lovers that really understand horses know that they can be just as easily controlled and will form a more trusting relationship with the rider and therefore provide a safer riding experience, when ridden with just a bridle because they aren't constantly being subjected to pain. czcams.com/video/KbARR5Lj178/video.html&vl=en
Also, no dogs should ever be given cooked bones. The sharp pieces they are broken into after chewing are much sharper than raw bones and can get stuck in their GI tract and do a lot of damage. Here is what PetMD says about it. www.petmd.com/dog/nutrition/evr_dg_raw_bones_or_cooked_bones
Emily, you're absolutely right, most of those "gauchos" are really only horse owners wanting to be seen, the real Argentine cowboys (gauchos), they almost don't exist anymore, and they are very careful and respectful of their animals, among others things because they are their livelihood. But do not fear, no animal is usually injured in these events, they are much less cruel than the American "rodeos". Regards (translated with Google translator)
Hi Emily, thank you for your comment and for sharing these resources. We understand why the gaucho 'jineteadas' aren't the easiest to watch, but at the end of the idea, we're trying to show every facet of the gaucho culture and this is a big part of it, so rather than ignoring it, we're presenting it as is. As for feeding the dogs cooked bones, that's also a cultural thing since most countryside dogs are not fed kibbles, but rather polenta with boiled bones or just barbecued bones. It's a bit different from what we're used to back home.
My criticism, now that I understand what horses go through, as a year ago I did not, is more about how mostly ALL HUMANS in ALL countries continue to abuse horses in unnecessary ways - just because it has always been done that way . It doesn't even occur to them to use common sense that better safer relationships between Humans and Horses can be and are realized if humans began to understand that their traditional abusive ways of "training" only make it more difficult and more hazardous to gain control of the horse and simply using a bridle without a bit is far more effective and humane. [ They should put themselves in the horse's place and imagine what it would be like to have a metal bar in their mouth depressing their tongues and pulling at their gums and teeth while they tried to follow someone's orders.]This kind of mistreatment of horses is done everywhere even by supposed "horse lovers". It isn't specific to Argentina.
Vegans hate this trick.
,
Love an Argentina's woman but I'd like some education first ?!
I love Argentine meat. How delicious 😋 what I didn't like is the treatment of the horses 🐴-whipping.
Thanks Tammy.
Actually they are not whipping the horses since they are not using whips.... they are using a rebenque, about 2 inches wide and about 12 inches long... they do not hurt the horses.
On the other hand, if it wasn't for this kind of events, the other alternative horses would have as in the US is the glue factory :-(
Argentina is facing another bankruptcy.
How is it traveling there while that is going on?
Is Patagonia insulated from that?
Should one avoid Cities?
Great question Robert. To be honest we've felt very safe the whole trip. Prices are a bit cheaper for tourists at the moment.
Wheres messi? I came here to see messi
