Kelly was not a better girl. Jim was an excellent father but wound too tight. Brenda and Dylan loved each other and their intensity scared him. Dylan wasnt a bad guy especially back then. The drama of Jim and the Walsh's were one of the reason's Dylan went to kelly, at least in my opinion. Kelly was an easy choice, it was new, she was easy, her mom didnt care if she spent the night, or if she dated him. Drama free, well at least he thought.
Dylan Loves Brenda ... kelly was the popular girl who could have anyone except Dylan... when Brenda came along she had Dylan chasing hard after her and that drove Kelly insanly jealous.... Dylan isn't blind he knew Kelly was into him for years... so when Brenda went South.... Dylan took the opportunity that was offered to him easily on a silver platter.... I dont think Dylan ever really loved Kelly at all ... she was just a quick fix, a rebound....when they told Brenda about their flirting over the summer... he went back to Kelly again...so Kelly was the 5 wheel.... I couldn't stand kelly, from beguining for what she did to Brenda..... She obviously doesn't know the concept of "Bros before Hos"

90210 was so great up through the 5th season...then it started losing too many of the key characters and replacing them with more boring, less loved characters. The fact that the show started by being based around The Walsh family and ended with not one Walsh being on the show anymore was super lame. I liked seasons 1-6. 8 was some what decent. I liked affair with Emma. I also enjoyed some of 10. Dylan coming back and still haunted by the lost of his wife. He also found out his dad was still alive. Season 5 is my favorite thou

Dylan always loved and admired Brenda’s toughness…that’s what was missing from Kelly, she was full of insecurities and jealousy….all the way up to the very end. Brenda always had Dylan’s attention.
I know. It's a shame the writers didn't respect that enough to keep him with Brenda in London when he left in Season 6, or of course, never get him involved with Kelly in the first place.
It personally bugged me that he couldn't decide. I still can't get over the scene where Brenda and Kelly give Dylan the ultimatum, and they all decide that Kelly loves Dylan and vice versa. lmao. The writers really had a warped perception of that emotion.
Dylan really missed Brenda in season 5, that was basically the only reason why he started sniffing around Kelly again because Brenda wasn’t around, this scene highlights the years of resentment Dylan had toward Jim, and he took it out on Valerie, because he saw her as someone trying to be Brenda, replacing her role in the family, but in the end he sympathised with Val, who was like him, a person with no good family who found a family with the Walsh’s
It also gives us a logical reason as to why Dylan was so taken by Kelly and her "free spirit" in s3. Does it stike anyone else as odd the way Dylan was so furious at Brenda not going to his dad's party b/c of Jim and how in the same episode he was so convinced that he's somehow "always wanted Kelly" even though their relationship consisted of a months worth of whoring around?

I really loved this scene. It really puts into perspective how much Jim Walsh's obnoxious idiocy really affected Dylan. It shows that although he admired Brenda's fierce devotion to him, the rejection of his only father figure constantly haunted him.
It really makes me very curious how everyone attacks Kelly and they don't do it with Dylan. At least Kelly felt guilty and tried to avoid it. For some one who wasn't an original cast choice she was the one making demands and that is why Shannon asked to be killed off and even directed the episode as she couldn't be around Alyssa and her childish behavior. The show turned stupid after she left plus Shannon wasn't happy with the direction it was going and told them plus as an actor she likes to be challenged so she moved on unlike Alyssa who stayed with a sinking ship doing the same thing and the character still the slut she started out as in the beginning. Valerie definitely wasn’t Brenda.. and the writers quickly made her into her own gal. I loved Valerie. In the hands of many actresses she would have been another soap villain, but Tiffani played her with a human edge that lent her sympathy. I actually preferred the series during the college years!

It really makes me very curious how everyone attacks Kelly and they don't do it with Dylan. At least Kelly felt guilty and tried to avoid it. He looked for her and didn't mind kissing Brenda in front of Kelly and then and after Kelly. Although Kelly was a friend of Brenda Dylan, he was her boyfriend and cheated on her. Everyone says team Brenda and Dylan but they forget that it was Dylan who chose Kelly over Brenda
I kinda agree with him bc she was basically living Brenda’s life, but it wasn’t intentional or she wasn’t trying to be her, but I think she liked it.

Shannon was the one that screwed that up because she was causing so much drama on the set they finally felt they had no choice but to fire her. She did the same drama shit on Charmed and they wound up having to fire her there too because of the drama between her and Alyssa Milano.
@@swampwitch6133 Alyssa Millano caused the problems one of them sleeping with a married man who had children aka Brian Krause causing him a divorce, didn't like she wasn't top billing even though she wasn't the first choice of Phoebe, hated that Holly and Shannon were close as they had been friends for a long time and Shannon persuaded Aaron Spelling that Holly should be Piper. For some one who wasn't an original cast choice she was the one making demands and that is why Shannon asked to be killed off and even directed the episode as she couldn't be around Alyssa and her childish behavior. The show turned stupid after she left plus Shannon wasn't happy with the direction it was going and told them plus as an actor she likes to be challenged so she moved on unlike Alyssa who stayed with a sinking ship doing the same thing and the character still the slut she started out as in the beginning. Yes both shows went on after Shannon left but the quality of the writing and acting went from first class must watch to won't bother anymore as its lost way.

not best but she was imho a damn good antagonist after Brenda left, in some ways you have to wonder if Valerie didn't remind him of Brenda and that's why he had such an animosity towards her, because she wasn't Brenda but in some ways was simuliar to her (not saying she was completely like her my any means) and drew out even more of that bitterness in Dylan reminding him Brenda was gone and he had lost her..

I agree! She was sexy , fiery and exciting!!! If she could’ve found a good boyfriend I don’t think she’d be so devious and conniving lol. I feel like most of the guys used her bc she wasn’t spoiled and entitled like the others in Beverly Hills. Her desperation and vulnerability were too real for this crew so she kept trying to ruin their lives in later seasons, I’m not saying that’s a good thing but it made really good TV imo
@@bergercookie it did make for good tv. For example, I liked Donna and Ray even though Ray was a jerk most of the time, but their storylines were a lot more entertaining than Joe & Donna’s.

Valerie definitely wasn’t Brenda.. and the writers quickly made her into her own gal. I loved Valerie. In the hands of many actresses she would have been another soap villain, but Tiffani played her with a human edge that lent her sympathy. I actually preferred the series during the college years!

@k h Kelly was it for Dylan and I loved Toni too, but he and Brenda didn't have the chemistry like with Kelly and Toni; when Kelly and Dylan got together that summer, sparks were everywhere and I instantly saw what was missing with brenda

With Kelly, it was just sex, remove that and what was left were a bunch of arguments over Kelly’s insecurities that she didn’t have as strong a hold on Dylan like Brenda did. All FACTS. Any fan who has watched BH90210 from the very beginning knows this. Dylan was the one guy Kelly couldn’t get, but once Dylan saw Brenda, he was immediately attracted to her.
